Madeleine Summers
Madeleine is a generally cheerful person. She was raised in a shadow where she grew up as part of the wealthy upper class. From an early age she had a love of books. Especially fantasy and science-fiction. She loved being transported to amazing worlds far from the cloistered existence she lived. It wasn't that she hated her life. Far from it. She just always had the sense that there was more out there to see and do, and she was impatient to see what that was.
She channeled a lot of her imagination into her artwork. She loved to draw and paint, starting from the time she was simply coloring in picture books. Her parents noticed this, and cultivated a matching love of music. Her memories of life at home are very good. Her parents adored her, and she them. She grew up in the high-society enclaves of the East Coast, originally hailing from New York City's upper east side. The news of war and monsters was not something her parents deemed fit for a growing child, so she was kept in controlled ignorance. The servants were strictly instructed not to mention it on pain of dismissal. She grew up happy, loved, and content. She'd rather live in her own fantasy worlds anyway, but was happy to interact with other children of privilege on arranged playdates.
Her father was a corporate CEO with major business, family, and political connections. Her mother was a charming socialite. She thought everyone's life was the same as hers really. At age 6 she was sent to a school for the gifted and talented, never noticing the heavy guard and fortified walls. There she mastered the violin, and discovered that the sketches she liked to make seemed strangely cold to the touch. She always felt that they were real in the same way, or maybe a different way, than her surroundings. She also noticed that she was good at picking up on the moods of others. It was a quality that netted her many friends.
At fourteen she transferred to the Socinian Institute, and life pretty much continued in this vein. By now she's mastered the saxophone and the flute, and has become a standout of the school band. She's a double Music and Art major, regularly attending drawing and painting classes to hone her native talent. The coldness in her sketches and canvasses is still there, but she considers that normal by now and not worth mentioning. She's friendly and popular, but still prone to getting lost in daydreams and her own thoughts, especially when drawing, painting, or playing her music.
Madeleine's roommate is Catherine Sistine, a hyperactive and outgoing girl who is a social butterfly. Catherine's involved in all the school's social scenes, and is a whirlwind of energy. She's also Maddy's girlfriend, the two of them drawn by their opposite natures. Catherine is known to be a sexual adventuress, having flings with boys and girls before settling with Maddy, and nudging her shyer girlfriend out of her shell.
Maddy's favorite class are the music and art ones. She's enrolled in painting and sketching, as well as violin and saxophone courses, and is known to play the flute as well. She also has interests in the piano. Her least favorite course is physical education. Her favorite composer would be Chopin and she has dreams of conducting her own symphony one day. She likes shopping when she can, and playing with the school band, but she's rarely seen at sporting events unless Catherine drags her there.
Appearance
Madeleine stands at 5'3" with flowing midnight-black hair that frames a round face. A tiny aquiline nose centers her face. Her eyes are a startlingly vivid green, wide and spacious. Her cheekbones are high, her cheeks a natural rosy hue that matches her full lips. Her skin is paler than moonlight. Her body is a willowy build, but healthy. Her curves are prominent: a exceptionally full bosom, slender waist, and a pert, lush rear.
