@TheBlackThrone I usually send these to you directly but figured I'd do like everyone else this time and leave it here for you to go over. Please let me know if something does not work.

Name: Ferris Duskwalker
Age: 32
Race: Pentacle
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heteroflexible
Height: 6'0"
Weight: fluctuates between 200 and 215 lbs.
Hair Color: Black with strands of white and silver
Eye Color: Darkest brown
General Description: Ferris is as solid as the ground he stands upon, with a well-muscled physique that belies his interest in money, discovery, and learning. His skin has a faint greenish hue while his winsome smile shows large canine teeth with the upper two indenting his lower lip. Faint scars mar his chest and back and his left ear contains three piercings. A birthmark nestles at his clavicle- dark brown and almost perfectly circular.

Personality: Patient | Hard-Working | Intelligent | Loyal |  Pessimistic | Obsessive | Stubborn: These keywords only encompass a portion of Ferris and his nature. Steady as the earth during harvest, he can become morose and despondent when things do not work out as desired and can easily turn toward coldness if a desired outcome fails. Book-smart and a whiz with money, Ferris can sometimes be a bit domineering, though he tries to soften that image with a quick smile or a well-timed joke.  A planner who tends to overthink problems, Ferris sees the world in haves/have-nots and would much prefer to be in the former column, thank you very much.
Likes: The Clink of Gold Coins | A Well Planned Caper | Shadowy Nights | Taverns | Fisticuffs | Mysteries | A Good Cuppa
Dislikes: Loss of Wealth | War | Boredom | Cats (soulless demons) | Liars | The Cold | Hard Beds | Coffee

Occupation: The leader of the Talons, the largest Thieves Guild within the port city of Na'Vale
Card: Knight of Pentacles
Weapon of Choice: His hands
Secondary Weapon: Two Bone Daggers
Armor Type: Ferris rarely wears what one would consider armor. He prefers the softness of animal fur or well-crafted cotton cloth and LIVES in velvet or silk when he can. That being said, he does have his father's leather armor though he only wears the Pauldrons, Gauntlets, and Thigh Tassets. (the rest of it is too large and he hasn't had time to get it modified.)

Powers

Upright
1.  Golden Touch - An innate supporting power that is triggered when starting something new: a job, a long con, or a journey. This particular power boosts  Ferris' earning potential by 25% while also surrounding him with a low-level field of "good luck" which others can sometimes use.
2.  Protection Coin - This defensive spell is based on the metal content of a small disc and is used to augment someone's armor. The "coin" must be recharged every 10 days by earth burial and the preferred metal is pure Iron Ore. The disc works best by being worn next to the skin and increases an armor class by 1* for those he considers close friends or family.
3.  Perseverance - This TIMED supporting spell allows Ferris to quicken his healing- whether that be physical, mental, or spiritual. Four hours of meditation grants him the equivalent of one week's healing. He can do this at any time but it works best during the new/full moon.

Reverse
1.  A Gamble - This innate offensive power is terrible news and is caused by Ferris' depression or anger when directed at a specific person. It can decrease the chance of success by up to 50%, though it only affects actions taken against Ferris personally. Additionally, a miasma of bad luck wafts out into the world around him and can affect others, triggering a string of monetary losses if someone nearby happens to be engaged in a game of chance.
2.  Distraction - A small handful of scattered pebbles in different sizes and shapes are all that is required to trigger this defensive spell which causes enemies to get lost in the minutiae of a particular problem. This can twist the tide in battle or make escape more likely.
3.  Can't Stop - This supporting spell allows Ferris and an additional two people to go without food or sleep for up to 24 hours. However, when that day is done, Ferris WILL sleep long enough to regain his and his companion's energy. The trigger is simply syncing up to three timepieces and a spoken word.

Background: Born to a traveling merchant as a result of a one-night stand, Ferris came into the world with a bit of a yell and heavier than his mother expected. He spent his formative years on a caravan, traveling throughout the land while learning the art of buying and selling at his mother's knee. Quick-witted and dextrous, Ferris grappled with a desire to take what he wanted from the world and developed a talent for thievery that his mother swore hadn't come from HER.

At age 18, Ferris left his mother and settled in the large port city of Na'Vale. It was here that he met his father, a thief of some renown who labored under the leadership of Gregor Wildtalon. Due to some very bad decision-making on the part of his father, Ferris ended up indentured to Gregor, who spent the next ten years teaching the young man all he knew of trickery, chicanery, and borrowing things that did not belong to him aka robbing people blind with a smile.

Four years ago, Gregor held a competition to see who would take over as leader of the Talons, a game built on stealth, the ability to think on one's feet, as well as who had the most money at the end of a season. Ferris won (as was expected) and spent the next two years learning the ins and outs of the guild before Gregor stepped down. Now, two years on- the Guild has grown in power and reach all while swallowing up some of its smaller competitors.

And Ferris? He's looking for new opportunities.

@TheBlackThrone In the pursuit of fleshing out the world of Tarot, would it be amenable to create an NPC template? With your approval of course. I found interesting pictures I'd like to breathe life into, if only for a cameo or quest driver.

Possible NPCs

Edit: tagging in TBT because I am a muppet and forgot to start with the user mention.

Powers

Upright
1.  Golden Touch - An innate supporting power that is triggered when starting something new: a job, a long con, or a journey. This particular power boosts  Ferris' earning potential by 25% while also surrounding him with a low-level field of "good luck" which others can sometimes make use of, especially during games of chance, though that secondary effect is temporary and fades quickly.
He can only maintain three of these at a time and the "coin" must be replaced every 30 days. (As an aside- the disc can increase cloth to padded or padded to leather or leather to studded without added weight. It does not increase  protection for anyone wearing heavier armor.)
3.  Perseverance - This TIMED supporting spell allows Ferris to quicken his healing- whether that be physical, mental, or spiritual. Four hours spent in meditation grants him the equivalent of one week's healing. He can not use the benefits of this particular spell for longer than eight hours and can ONLY do this on the nights of the new or full moon. (Because of this limitation, Ferris used to call this Patience.)

Reverse
1.  A Gamble - This innate offensive power is terrible news and is caused by Ferris' depression or anger when directed at a specific person. It can decrease the chance of success for a specific action by up to 50%, though it only affects actions taken against Ferris personally. Additionally, a miasma of bad luck wafts out into the world around him and can affect others, triggering a string of monetary losses if someone nearby happens to be engaged in a game of chance. This secondary effect lasts for about five minutes.
2.  Distraction - A small handful of scattered pebbles in different sizes and shapes are all that is required to trigger this defensive spell which causes enemies to get lost in the minutiae of a particular problem. This can twist the tide in battle or make escape more likely though the results last no more than fifteen minutes.
3.  Can't Stop - This supporting spell allows Ferris and an additional two people to go without food or sleep for up to 24 hours. However, when that day is done, Ferris WILL collapse wherever he is and must sleep for up to three days as his body shuts down due to his fatigue as well as that of his companions. The trigger is simply syncing up to three timepieces and a spoken word.

Background: Born to a traveling merchant as a result of a one-night stand, Ferris came into the world with a bit of a yell and heavier than his mother expected. There is no point putting all these limitations on your character because this is not a PVP and there is no system in place to limit abilities. I do not want new writers thinking there is one when there isn't. So please remove all that. We just play the Rule of Cool here. If there is any PVP, you and the other writer will already have the outcome decided in PM before you even start a conflict.

Okies. It is habit. Other than removing the limitations is there anything else that is not needed?

Shit gunna have to revamp as I think of things with built in limits all the time...

No that was it. You are welcome to limit your character how you want in-game, when writing, but it does not need to be in the CS.

I have TWO ideas for the same character and I'm genuinely torn between them. Would it be better to give vague details and see what people have to say, or just post each idea as a character sheet and let it be decided from there?

I'd love to get a teaser for your OCs to see how I might get traction with Eir or Aislinn!

Though, I suffer from altaholism and may suggest you make two characters if that's amenable, because I am an awful enabler xD

THAT'S SUCH A GOOD IDEA THO! The characters are each a different version of the same base concept for a card, so I WOULD have to choose one or the other (though I do have an idea for a Pentacle merchant guild leader)

Damn it, this game looks so good, but I already joined 2 other group games!

Is anyone familiar with Pusoy dos? I associate it with a Filipino game since it was played by the navy community in San Diego (a naval town with many former and current Filipino naval members). I learned this in middle school.

Clearly, it would clash with this game, but considering in this game, the 2 is the weakest, vs the 2 is the strongest in Pusoy dos. I thought I would still look around even if it was silly for me to do so.

Twos aren't the weakest. The hierarchy is not weakest to strongest. It's just a hierarchy. Someone started that rumor, but I looked over my OP and I never read a weakest to strongest card roster.

#97
VERY QUICK AND DIRTY DESCRIPTIONS

Character Version 1:

-A character of solitude, they are a soul that through magic rite has been bound to a body of metal by a wizard within the Wands. This did not agree with the newly bound soul at all, leaving behind this place of arcane advancement to try and understand what life they have been given/forced into.

Character Version 2:

-A traveling con-man/inventor, this character attempts to make peoples lives better be it for his own gain, theirs, or both (sometimes he not sure which). More often than not, these attempts do not go very well and have him continually skipping town regardless of the future outcome.

Damn, that is my bad, I looked at the sheets and saw how high the scales were for the Ace and King and thought the opposite end would be considered the weakest.

Now I have these concepts of a wild card 2, or something spy/covert ops ish.

A little finger type.

@Fiadh Stop it!!

Is he searching for the Philosopher's Stone too, lol?
