F or MTF (MC) vs Any/varied (YC)

This idea came from a discussion I was having with a friend of mine. Basically MC goes from one perilous scenario to another in a dramatic and rather over the top story line.

I’m picturing each scene being perhaps a dozen posts - with a set up, struggle, thrilling climax, miraculous escape and the set up for the next scene.

The exact set up is open to negotiations but I was thinking that MC is either working in a museum or an investigate reporter tracing some precious artefact. When they find it, it latches onto them (Possibly with an MtF transformation, otherwise MC would be F throughout), and makes them the target of all sorts of adversaries. I’m currently thinking it somehow transports her into different settings (either into a fantasy world/some mysterious past/science fiction… any or all of the above) for maximum adventure.

Some ideas for scenarios are:-

With the artefact attached to her, a shady organisation wish to capture her and use her for their evil ends.

She’s captured by a group of cultists and finds herself tied to an altar ready to be sacrificed to their twisted master.

A Vampire decides that she will be his bride, can she avoid his fangs long enough to escape?

It seems she’s got lucky as she finds herself in an opulent palace, in a gorgeous gown. However the revolution is coming… can she keep her head?

Deep in a flooding dungeon, weighed down by shackles, can she find the exit in time or will she be trapped for ever in a watery grave?


My intention is for her to be capable and competent, but in way over her head. Sometimes it’s her own wits and knowledge that allow her to escape, perhaps it’s some stranger who may or may not be a hero, or does one villain swoop in and snatch her away from the prior one? Lots of room for fun, over the top adventure.
