Images removed without reason - clarification requested.

I have an ad up in your non-forum advertisements.

The latest bump had 4 images removed from the ad, which I edited and took out completely because I assume something wasn't kosher with them. I'm completely down with all your rules in here. I'm super grateful that I'm even allowed to post advertisements for something else in your non-forum threads at all, really not trying to rock the boat.

I'm just asking here because in the past whenever I've accidentally stepped out of line, I usually get a message in my inbox saying what I did wrong and why it's not allowed. This time, I got nothing. The images were just removed. I don't know if it was just a computer glitch or if I broke a rule. If it's a computer glitch, I'll post the images back up - no problem. But I wanted to be sure in case a rule was accidentally broken, I don't want to be penalized or banned for reposting.

The only thing I can think of is that the images showed aliases of players (with their consent) by each played character on the server. I had wondered if it was a dubious veering toward the E rules boundaries because you're usually very in favour of anonymity, but the aliases aren't of anyone on E. If that was a rule broken, then I vehemently apologize. I'm just looking for clarification one way or the other, so that if it was that, I don't do it again by mistake.

I would then further ask why no email was sent regarding this, since I thought that was the general policy in here. That if a rule is broken, someone will message to explain that. Again, your rules are fine with me. I'm so grateful that E allows me to recruit here. E writers are probably the best writers my server has and has ever had. I don't want to do anything that would rock that boat. Truly, I am ONLY looking for clarification.

If someone edited the post, the edit would be marked at the bottom (like yours appears now). Do you remember if there was such a note? Also, any idea when that happened?

There was no such note, which is why I'm reaching out. I edited the post to remove the four image links since they weren't showing anymore and removed the subcaption since, without the images, it didn't really make sense.

I posted already the only two things I could imagine happened. Either a glitch somewhere, in which case I can post it back up, or the images were removed by a Moderator potentially for listing writer aliases (again, with writer consent).

Here is an example of one of the images, in case you want to verify that it was in fact in breach of a rule.

Edited: to clarify that PB means "played by" and lists the name of the models or actors used for each character, not the actual first and last names of the writers.

I did some digging, and it wasn't on our side either. Nothing was reported, so your image links broke for some reason other than staff intervention.

One thing that comes to mind is that the site you used for the images may have some sort of hotlink protection, especially if the images showed up as the 'broken rectangle' picture when you noticed the disappearance.  Saving them to your machine and then uploading them a host like imgur or the Elluiki would prevent that.

No, it looks fine. Just make sure images don't contain people (models) under 18 years of age while you're posting and you're good. If Staff has concerns about your posts, you'll be contacted.

I'm a bit late to the party but would still like to offer my two cents:

The best way to ensure images do not disappear is to upload a copy to the Elluiki.
Alternatively, I have had good experience with imgur.
