How did she have time? Mihr laughed at the question. The food here was miraculous, not something she spent hours cooking in the kitchen. Though there was a kitchen, in case any of the guests living there should want to spend time cooking something. Mihr watched the people of the haven eat with affection in her eyes, affection for each and every one of them. Even Quihen.

She was startled by a knock on the door. "Someone in need?" she muttered. "I'll be right back, everyone."

Mihr fluttered away to the door and opened it. On the other side stood a gorgeous woman in a golden dress.

"Hello?" said the stranger. "I need help. May I please come in?"

Quihen glanced at Mihr as she spoke and walked off, and it stayed with the one glance. He didn't need to know everything about her and what she did during a day. In fact, he didn't want to know everything. He wanted to keep some distance between him and angels.

JessicaHouse

((Umm... what? Mihr didn't say anything to him. Your response... doesn't make sense...))

Akkas

((She said to everyone that she'd be right back. He basically sees her go towards the door, and continues eating))

JessicaHouse

((Well, for one thing, you used the term "glare" multiple times. That's an aggressive and angry way to look at someone.))

Akkas

((That was my fault then - - I meant glance. I accidentally used the wrong word. I'll correct that.))

JessicaHouse

Mihr was about to protest that the stranger needed to be interviewed first before she would let her into the haven, but the woman in the golden dress touched Mihr's shoulder and Mihr suddenly felt that she could trust her, though she could not explain why.

The woman in the golden dress approached the dinner table, her tresses trailing behind her as she drew near. Her eyes fixed on Quihen with a deep, burning desire in them. "Hello there," she said with a wink. "My name is Lucy."

Akkas

Quihen gave her a wide smile. "Hello Lucy," he greeted warm and friendly. "I'm Quihen."
His eyes moved up and down her body as he took a good look at her golden dress. He was truly looking at her dress, and not at her curves. He didn't know what to think about the dress. He never saw anything like it before.
"That is a remarkable dress you're wearing," he said. It made him uncomfortable because it reminded him of the feathers of angel wings. They were different from the ones he knew, but Mihr did recently teach him that there exist other types of angels as well.

Lucifer could tell that she had him enraptured, even if it wasn't interest in her so much as it was in her dress. In time, she'd have him eating out of her hand, if she so desired. Then she'd have him doing her bidding.

"Thank you," she said, curtsying. "My boyfriend... well, ex-boyfriend now... he never really appreciated it, but I think it's beautiful."

Akkas

"I'm glad to see you're still wearing it despite what he thinks of it," Quihen said. "Nobody's opinion matters more than your own."
Concerned about her, he asked: "Did the breakup happen recently?"

JessicaHouse

Lucy considered a witty comment about how he might be much happier to see her not wearing it, but she decided to keep it to herself. For now.

"I agree. No one's opinion matters other than my own," she said with a grin.

When he asked about the breakup, Lucifer remembered that she was supposed to be scared and vulnerable right now. She peered back at Mihr, who was standing by the door with a curious expression on her face. Lucy forced fake tears into her eyes and gave the saddest most terrified look she could muster. "Yes... today, actually. He came home to our apartment and I told him he couldn't treat me like he had been anymore. He got so furious I thought for sure he was going to kill me this time, but I... I managed to slip away... then I came here."

Akkas

Quihen believed Lucy so far. Her act was convincing - and he had never been good at seeing the difference between sincerity and fake emotions.
"You're okay now," he said comforting. "And if you ever need to return to your home to get something, I can come with you for protection."

JessicaHouse

Lucy stepped closer to him, sniffling a little as if she were suppressing full sobs. In truth, it was a ruse. Quihen had shown her some degree of compassion so far, so it was possible that he might be willing to offer some comfort. If she could get him used to physical touch it would be easier for her to bring him under her power later.

When she was within arms' reach she said, "Can you give me a hug?"

Akkas

Quihen felt for her but wouldn't hug her. He awkwardly leaned away from her. He preferred not to touch her because of her angelic dress, but that was not the reason he declined. If that were all, he would've set his own feelings aside. He did this for her wellbeing.
"You're very vulnerable right now, Lucy..." he started softly. "I don't think it's a good idea if you were to rely on me emotionally."

JessicaHouse

Lucifer cursed her luck that she just happened to find a demon who was adverse to the touch of a beautiful woman. Oh well. Her charms would have to work on him some other way.

Mihr approached from behind Lucy, about to ask her some questions, but before she could speak Lucy said, "You're the angel responsible for this little sanctuary, yes? Might I trouble you to show me to my room? It's been a difficult day and I'd love to get some rest."

Mihr blinked twice and shook her head, as if trying to bring herself out of a daze. "Sure... this way..." Mihr led Lucy to one of the side doors and opened it. A staircase stood on the other side, and Mihr led her up.

Once Lucy was settled in her room, Mihr descended back downstairs and met Quihen in the dining room. By the expression on her face, her mind was caught in a strange fog.

Akkas

"How long has she been coming here?" Quihen asked Mihr.
With certain things that were said and done, he got the impression that Lucifer was a familiar face around here. For example Lucy's words to her sounded like she had come to havens like this before and knew how these places worked, and the ease with which she came in seemed like she knew her way around. Especially the fact that Mihr didn't even ask her a single thing, must mean that the angel already knew and trusted her. Or so Quihen thought.

JessicaHouse

Mihr, still looking dazed, said, "I don't think she's ever been here before... has she?" Mihr looked off, as if expecting the answer to appear in mid-air. "No... no she hasn't been here... I don't think..." She looked down at the floor. "Something's... off..." her eyes rolled back in her head and her body went limp. She lost her balance and started to fall.

Akkas

Quihen jumped up, ready to catch her. As he realized what he was doing, he pulled back his arms with an apologetic expression. He hasn't willingly touched any angel in ages, and he wanted to keep it that way. He avoided to touch them to prevent getting lured back into the habit of hunting them.
The golden rings around his right hand were glowing as he pulled out their energy. He gathered the pure good, angelic energy and kneeled down next to Mihr. He held his hand just above her and released the energy, letting it fall down on her.
He did this, expecting it to have the same effect as it would on the type of angel he knew. It would restore their energy and give them a boost, or help them heal quickly, depending on how they felt.

((I'll get you a new response as soon as I can. At the moment, though, I admit I'm kinda bored with this one.))
