The roleplay has started but only the first three days are currently opened, namely the first three days before the murder so the investigation hasn't started ICly.

In particular, the Deputy Manager, the Head Receptionist, the Morning Receptionist, and Chambermaids are available for STAFF characters.

More guests are always welcome.

Another detective would be nice, though more guests, hotel staff or police officers would be nice too, so it's up to what you feel like writing  Glad to see your interest!

Oh, no I meant more do you need someone mysterious to be a red herring, a bitchy socialite to push along the plot, an university student who's in the wrong place at the wrong time but catches the eye of and distracts a detective etc?

Ahh, when it comes to guests they can really be anything, any of the ideas you mentioned or just a random tourist. The victim is a middle aged and married businessman who came to the hotel (and SF) alone for work, he has a penchant for younger women and cheats on his wife. Your character doesn't necessarily have to be involved with the victim in one way or another, although if you want it to be, then there can be many ways for them to be involved even if they have nothing in common. An argument in the hallway, an unpleasant or pleasant discussion at The Millennium Pub, etc.

I second what Heartsink said, we'd love to have you. It's a little quiet but as soon as I'm back in town on the 6th, my reticence in the game will end and I'd love to see this one really take off. Can't wait to see what you come up with!

With the addition of a detective in the cast, the RolePlay is now fully open with the In-Game dates ranging from Tuesday 4 June 2019 to Friday 14 June 2019.

For currently involved writers and potentially new contributors, 1-2 more detectives would be ideal, as well as more police officers, guests and staff.
