  NSDB? Not a clue! Since Al’s involved, maybe the B is for those fleshy protuberances but then again, DB is typically database but in this case could be that ne’er-do-well DuBois. NS could be not suitable? “Not Suitable for DuBois”?

  But that’s not what I came here for. I came to talk about browser add ons that make play here go better. Different browsers have different add ons and not all have equivalent ones. Here’s my stab at a table listing add ons that I can find for Chrome and Firefox and Edge, all on a PC. Somebody with a Mac will have to look for Safari. Does anyone hyer use Opera?

Second off, Jaclyn—Bravo!  Given the nature of the award (i.e. a knock-off KO) I’ve asked someone, not me, to present the Nobel to you.  But bravo!

The Professor

As a winner of this myself, I can say it is absolutely the most prestigious award that can be awarded by someone who looks like a professor in a comic sort of way.  So Jaclyn, because of your breakthroughs in string theory, no check that—not string theory, browser theory I award you the Noble, err Nobel.  It’s the Nobel, right?  Applause for Jaclyn please!

Big, big issue here everyone.  Al claims an Epiphany, thinking he has reached the proper solution.  The proper solution is Not So Dumb Blonde.  It may be that Al thinks all blondes are bimbos.  So maybe he has gotten the solution and it’s just semantics.   I really don’t know.  So let’s vote!  Should Al get an award or not?  Vote early and often.  Good luck Al!

Just a nifty little trick here that I like to use for aesthetic purposes. Can't think if it was mentioned here yet or not but ... Did you know ... that you can change the the color of your underlines?

Just use one color code tag outside of you underline tag, and then a second one inside for the color of your text!

  Oooh neat, Courtney. A caution though. This site is changing from SMF to something called ElkArte sometime in the foreseeable future. And unlike what we remember from LiL where the whole site went poof during the remodeling and little to nothing from before remained, I believe the one who does those things here plans to convert everything over and lose nothing. Just a guess here, this is a bug and not a feature so may not survive the changeover.

Some, perhaps most, realize what great thought is put into my wardrobe for making announcements and awards.

Take now for instance.  Courtney shows a neat magic trick—sort of like a magic act where the magician pauses for the sleight-of-hand card trick.  It’s cool, elegant in its apparent simplicity.  What to wear, what to say exactly.  See the drift?

And we continue.  Jaclyn—providing expert prognostication, do I slip on an outfit of a foxy newscaster and say ‘I see’?  Or ‘let’s hope it’s available after the changes’ or even, ‘but we won’t worry about changes’?

Then of course, there’s the Al post.  Surprisingly it involves bras—the thing that covers orbs of Al’s interest.  Or in an alternative universe: strange how Al chose that gif huh?

So now everyone understands the complexity of wardrobe selection.  This is known as insight. 

Maybe not insight but observation, I did observe that there was a banner over some E posts: Fellow Americans, are you registered, or something like that.  Maybe I should have found some cute voting type outfit for that, but that would add to the conundrum of what to wear.

Let’s leave it at this: Bravo everyone (Courtney, Jaclyn, Al) !  Bravo to all who have registered and bravo to all who are going to do so! 

Plus, since the Magic Shop is located on all continents at once, everyone gets a bravo for exercising their right to vote.

NEWS ALERT:  THE VOTE IS IN

My friend the NSDB was busy on other issues and she asked that I call Al up to the award stage to receive his next award.  For those who don’t know, there was a raging vote to see if Al’s guess of what NSDB meant, he even claimed an epiphany, should get an award (2 points in a non-existent game).  Welllllll, it turns out that the vote is in and the ‘yays’ won—Al is therefore awarded this trophy:

Tweet!  I will certify the award.  There have been allegations that certain campaigning for the vote of yays was undertaken by agents (see below).  Basically, there is no indication that the ‘get out the vote’ team was selected by Al.  I mean what clues might there be?  I think we can all agree that Al might or might not have recruited them, but no clues really.  Therefore the trophy remains as awarded and as certified by the judge (me). /s/ Unquestioned Judge

Wearing a suit and bow tie, Al walks up to the podium, bows as he accepts the award, climbs up and adjusts the mike.

Ladies, gentlemen and non-binaries; esteemed members of the election committee; unquestioned judge; friends, Romans and countrymen; kind audience and other assorted riffraff.

It is a great privilege to stand before you on this day, and humbly accept the honour that you deemed me worthy to get.  It took not only years of hard work and dedication to get me to this glorious moment -- daily walking 15 miles barefoot in the snow, uphill, both ways -- but also the unwavering support of all the wonderful people who believed in me, encouraged me, and did other things that I will not elaborate on due to the non-adult nature of this sandbox.

Although I am grateful to all of you, I would like to extend special thanks to my agents, who have finally justified their exorbitant commissions; to my friends (you know who you are!) that stuck with me through thick and thin, lewd remarks and bad humour, clinging to the meagre hope that someday I will be able to repay my debts to them; to my family, who would disown me in a jiffy if they knew what forum I spend my time on; and most importantly, to my devoted Bambies who made sure to stuff both their bras and the ballot boxes in their quest to get me this recognition.  Thank you!  I love you all!

  I had occasion in a post to need to show a calendar with days of the week and stuff happening. I decided to try a table to do this and here’s the result from that topic.

  To make this, I used a trick I’ve had in my toolbox for years, a spreadsheet. I started with a 7 column table with the day of the week label in each cell. Then to the right of that I put 7 columns referencing those label cells, each looked like this:

  Then to the right of that, I concatenated those together with appropriate row tags and added ‘ | ‘ to create a boundary between the cells. The first row looked like this.
