Futa Kingdom in the Stolen Lands (Pathfinder Kingdom builder)

Alright, so, to let you guys in on what I'm doing: Instead of actually simulating all the soldiers and all the economics of a burgeoning nation (nevermind 11 of them, counting you guys), what I'm doing is abstracting it into "Economic Strength" and "Military Strength". The numbers will go from 1-100, and will be your primary tools against other nations-or, other nations primary tools against you. Diplomacy, espionage, and all that will still be a major part, but when it comes time to claim territory or do battle with neighbors, those numbers will be incredibly important. Each opposing nation will also have a "specialty" in either a certain kind of trade good (say, armor, weapons, agriculture, pottery, whatever I decide or randomly roll) or a military specialty of some kind, granting them a bonus against you if they play to their strengths while also allowing you guys an extra avenue of weakness if you undermine their specialty or exploit the weaknesses present in their specialty.

Each nation will also have a diplomatic rating towards you, and towards every other nation-remember, it's not you versus all of them, it's you versus them versus them versus them versus you get the bloody point. Conquering territory is not the only way to establish dominance in the Stolen Lands, diplomacy and alliances-should they hold strong-will also be an avenue to victory.

But, lest I forget: You are all adventurers still, and you'd probably hate me if I didn't let you get out of the house a little bit. Questing opportunities for both you and other heroes under your command will come up, with opportunities to enhance your position-or if I feel like being dickish, I might hand you a cursed thing. And then if YOU feel like being dickish, hand it off to a nation you don't particularly like...

I have no idea if this is gonna work, but this is the plan. I still need to set things up, but we'll have ourselves a good time!

Personality: Being a devout follower of Arshea, Yevin believes in sexual freedom as well as not being constrained by one's gender. While he prefers to embrace his feminine side, he hasn't completely forgotten his masculinity, and will occasionally indulge his male side, finding androgyny to be the closest form of physical perfection. As far as sex is concerned, the Sorcerer will use it as a means to enchant others or gain leverage over them just as quickly as he'll use it for pleasure and to bond with others. While he generally cares about his actual clients, listening to their needs and helping them both physically and emotionally, he can quickly become bored with the same person after a while, though he'd never show it. Yevin is a wandering spirit, never wanting to stay in the same place for too long, though when he does take a break from travelling, he prefers to stop in large cities, with plenty of eccentric nobles to entertain and potentially shower him with gifts. While he does he enjoy helping them, he's also a very vain creature and is absolutely enamored with pretty and expensive things preferring a life of luxury to one of hard work and toil.

Background

Originally from Qadira, Yevin was born into a wealthy life, his father being a very successful jockey. Yevin was raised mostly by his mother who treated him like a daughter, which suited him just fine as he enjoyed the bright silk dresses and exquisite jewelry she gifted to him. She also taught him belly dancing, an activity which he instantly fell in love with. Due to his completely Human appearance, Yevin's parents were unaware of the fact that their son was an Ifrit, something that only made itself apparent after his natural powers started to manifest and it became obvious he was aging slower than he should have. His parents were mostly accepting of his genie blood, they were somewhat wary of the child, knowing full well how destructive the Ifrit can become. Yevin managed to keep any destructive urges he may of had suppressed, instead focusing his energy on his dancing lessons, which he became quite proficient at. Even though he enjoyed his luxurious home life he began to grow restless, longing to travel. At the age of seventeen, the young Ifrit left his home, convincing a trading caravan to take him with them.

For the next few decades Yevin traveled all over Golarion, first offering his services as a dancer and then a courtesan as he got older. During his travels, he learned of Arshea, the empeyreal lord of freedom, sexuality and physical beauty. To Yevin, this beautiful angel was the embodiment of everything he strived to be and so he quickly became a devout follower, eagerly spreading their ideology through his work. While Yevin generally stuck to large, well-guarded groups during his travels, he has had to occasionally defend himself from dangers and so, he developed his own fighting style combining his dancing ability with swordplay, becoming an entrancing whirlwind of movement on the battlefield. As his powers began to grow stronger he found he could combine his seductive charm with his innate magical ability to end a battle before it even began. though enchanting his enemies often left the courtesan sore in other ways.

So I'd just like to say real quick that I'm going off the idea that Ifrit's start to slow down in aging the stronger their powers become. I didn't really like the idea of Yevin leaving his home when he was, like, 40 something human years. Just sounds kinda weird, I guess.

Huehue, managed to get the majority of my character done after, like, three years of procrastination and thinking of ideas. Just need to figure out the kingdoms we'll be dealing with and he'll be golden!

I think I said this before, I've never play a kingdom builder game, so I just hope not to be overwhelmed by too much managing. :P But this does sounds like fun ^^

Angie this sounds like an epic thing your taking on.

I was wondering if it is ok for me to take leadership and have spies as those that I am king pin for.

The spies will be in other countries  (some will be with our nation acting as counter-espionage) and will occcasionally give me messags by pigeon or other means,

If not spies then a group of people of your choice, perhaps they are all entertainers and mainly give money or gossip/rumor and feastivities - and help morale and culture or something. It doesnt have to be powerful - i  was mainly hoping for something that helps thte plot.

Is it ok if several of us have leadership.? its the most powerful feat there is - especially if you have high charisma.

And yes it is a powerful feat and I wouldn't ever have consider it if it was not for Joanie but since I'm tight on feats and since we are just beginning I was thinking that if took it it would be at next level as we get another feat. I would ask though as Carly just did, is it ok if several of us have leadership?

The power is a bit dimished due to Kingdom stuff. Spies will work because even though everyone HAS a score or two, you'll only know your own unless you use spies.

It's fine if you all have leadership. Just remember, if it turns out you suck as a leader, i can take it away. Or at least, most of the benefits.

Angie, it's all just wow! But I've got a few questions (I'm feeling especially derpy so forgive me for asking the obvious!) Are we all working for just 1 nation together? We're not all separate nations competing right? And are there any alignment restrictions? It doesn't seem like it?

Fiddling with equipment and a thought hit me. Given the whole 'we're important people with a (tiny) nation behind us' thing, do I need to figure much out about mundane cheap gear?

I would say for now, yes. You've only just started to establish yourself, I would say that your "gear" is actually stuff from whatever former life you had before coming to build this nation, as the nation simply isn't well established enough to do much of anything.

Due to last-minute inspiration, I'm changing up to a Cavalier of some flavor.  ;D I so rarely get to play raw melee characters, so that seems like fun!

BTW Angie, I seem to recall the Dungeon Master's Guide 2 for 3.5 had a system similar to the one you are using for determining military power, espionage, etc.. in case you weren't already aware of it.

Basically you choose what sort of regional/global power you are (which in turn determines whether you're strong in military, espionage, economy, and maybe one other) and then it grants you certain executive powers that you can employ on a weekly/monthly basis.  Might be worth a look.

When in the saddle she wears much-used but well-maintained plate armor decorated with gold inlay and blue staining. At court, she favors fashions popular in Brevoy, sleek gowns with fur trim and amber beading that show off a surprisingly well-developed figure, with a full chest and round hips. Unclothed, her body is sleekly muscled, warm pink skin darkening to a dusky rose atop her breasts, and a soft patch of fuzz just as green as her head hiding what lies between her legs. In the summer, she has freckles on her shoulders and the tops of her breasts, suggesting time spent unclothed outdoors.

Personality: She's an Adventurer! Trilly has dedicated herself to chivalric ideals of heroism and derring-do. She doesn't always uphold the most courtly behavior, granted, but who expects it of gnomes? She exults in the joy of flight and seeks out challenges for the sake of it. Sure it's a little reckless, but she calls it confidence; and you never know unless you try! Though she's less comfortable in the halls of nobility, she's no country rube or rank soldier; She enjoys the hell out of fine clothes, haute fashion, and the other trappings of courtly life. She sees it as her duty to take up the cause of the small folk - both in terms of the commoners and the literal smaller races - both in battle and in court. After all, her family are both! She has a special disliking for giants, though of late has been trying to overcome her upbringing bias against kobolds. One of her greater failings - and probably a major reason she came to this kingdom - is that she's kind of bad at the ideals of "chivalric romance." Why love from afar, when you can love beneath the duchess' skirts at the banquet table? She's got something of a reputation (And the duke of a neighboring nation isn't very appreciative...)

Background: Trilly's story starts on a weasel farm in the grozni Forest. t was originally a sheep farm, but eventually the family had more weasels than sheep, so what are you going to do? Being gnomes they set about trying to tame the things, and with some success. The young Trilly's performance in the saddle so impressed a visiting hedge knight that he offered to take her on as a squire. How could she refuse? Every six months she returned home to visit her family, but otherwise spent her time learning the knightly ways. Sir Abelard Kettlewhicket was something of an eccentric even for a gnome, and he filled Trilly's head full of overblown ideals of heroism, derring-do, and knights of old. And to prove it, he dragged her along to fight tatzelwurms in the stolen lands, treat with centaur in Iobara, and even for a few months, join the crusade in Mendev! Trilly always found her way back home, though, or at least nearby. when the news of a new sovereign declaring herself queen reached her ears, how could Trilly not jump at the opportunity to see what that was about?

While visiting the kingdom of Woxisite, the courtesan was entertaining a rather large group of nobles, dazzling them with his exotic dancing and enchanting spells, after which, he indulged in their more carnal desires, spreading the good word of Arshea. After a vigorous session of "worship", Yevin drifted off only to awaken bound and gagged, being presented to the king of Woxisite. It seems one of the nobles told the king of his abilities and he had a proposal for the poor Ifrit. Either serve the king for ten years, after which he'd be given his freedom back, or spend the rest of his life rotting in the dungeons. To Yevin, the choice was obvious.

For the next seven years Yevin dutifully did whatever the king asked, whether it be helping with the morale of his troops or infiltrating neighboring kingdoms, planting rumors and seeds of doubt within the royal families all while learning some of their secrets. For his part, Yevin perfected using his magic in more subtle ways, reading a nobles mind with a stroke here or controlling their thoughts with a playful squeeze there. While Yevin found this fairly fun at first, the idea of having these nobles at his fingertips very amusing, he quickly grew bored of dealing with the same people over and over and over again, hating that he was trapped in the same lands for years. After about seven years of dealing with the same demands from the king, Yevin was given a somewhat different task. A wild woman and her small group of followers were spotted near Lake Candlemere, apparently looking to build their own kingdom! Yevin was given the seemingly simple task of scouting out the group to see if what their defenses were like. The Ifrit, excited to take any new job, quickly headed out to where the group was last seen, along with an escort of two guards. The plan was simple, hide nearby, assess the group and see what he can learn about them through his Divination. Unfortunately for poor Yevin, this group was quite a bit stronger than the nobles he was used to dealing with. Not only were they able to resist his spells, they also detected the magic and managed to find Yevin and his escorts before they could escape, the group quickly killed the guards and captured the courtesan. Juria, their leader, gave Yevin a choice; either serve her or die. Yevin, having no love for Woxisite, a fact which he made abundantly clear, agreed to join the Amazon, becoming her newest follower.

Holy heck, that took me a while. Sorry about the delay on that everyone, been havin' to pull double shifts at work, so I've been too tired to finish this up. Figured I'd just make a new post for the finished version too. For anyone who doesn't wanna read through the unnecessarily long and messy backstory, I should mention that Yevin was sent by one of the neighboring kingdoms to spy on you guys and ended up getting caught. So, there's probably some distrust goin' on there.
