*cringes at his stupidity* sorry I usually judge by the colors and the Lord lady etc. I assumed Oracle meant. Ya know. Lol Sorry. T_T

I'm just really bad at reading those.

Thank you; the apology is really appreciated. *tips hat!*  ;D

(And you're not stupid! We do have a lot of Lady Oracles, although they aren't the only gender in the Oracle tag, and the Oracle tag has no inherent gender connotation, so I understand the confusion!)

(I'll stop with the tangent now, sorry!)
Come now, swing wide those gates!
'Cause I have paid my penance kindly well in time for judgment day.
Somehow I knew my fate.
Turns out the gods we thought were dyin' were just sharpening their blades.
Have you been waitin' long...
...for me...?

You're definitely not to blame. I'm speaking as someone who almost sent Blythe a roleplay message on the assumption that he was a girl. Since then I've had to double-check people profiles because I no longer trust colors on tags that don't explicitly state gender. Not cause I totally sent two or three messages to guys at this point. *Cough*

More on topic, I honestly don't know what to make of Trump at this point. I'm still of the opinion that either electors will not elect him president or that if he is president congress will look for any reason to impeach him. The alt-right has always been what it is, it's never tried to pretend. they've been this blatant and racist for years. I will say that more people have definitely been more racist these days.

This is my own personal opinion.. and has much to do with the southern US region that I reside in. I should also note that I'm of the middle eastern persuasion and that it does have relevance to the parts below. During the election day when Hillary was winning I noticed most of my colleagues were complaining about how if Trump was less racist or hadn't had the media against him he would have won. When I returned later, when Trump was decidedly winning, I asked them how the election was going and the response I got was "What do you care?" with a look that I'd honestly never seen addressed to me before. It's the first time I'd decidedly witnessed a person, that I worked with, blatantly showing that racism was still oh so prominent. It's certainly prepared me for the next four years of this drivel.
PMs are open for all role play inquiries.

Here sorry I know I'm not the best at articulating myself; Don't let them bother you, just do what you think is the best response but don't let idiots ruin your day for doing idiot things. Smile, and enjoy your day.

I hope that made sense?

If I understand correctly the general tone of what you're trying to convey, you're going for: "Don't let them spoil the good things in life for you with their rhetoric. Engage in debate and fight for what you believe in so you can keep those good things, but in the words of poet and orator George Herbert, 'Living well is the best revenge.' "

(I hope I got that right?  :-) )

You have the mind of a saint and the heart of a poet girl. Lol. Yes reading that feels precisely what I was going for. Edit: You are way better at articulating stuff then me. XD

Okay, I understand what you mean now Prosac, even if I disagree with it.

Anyways, I'll do my part the next 4 years by donating to causes I feel will mitigate the worst effects when I get the time and money to do so.

Remember, we've never disagreed on the fundamental point that Trump's presidency is going to be an utter disaster. All your highlighted points are absolutely supportive of that. Where we are clashing is that you attribute his comments (words, not actions as of yet) to malice, whereas I just see simple stupidity/incompetence. You believe he'll spend the next four years somehow singlehandedly transforming America into a fascist dictatorship, whereas I believe he'll blunder and bluster while his cronies run rampant, then be booted out and return to his celebrity existence. The next president, GOP or Democrat, will be left cleaning up his mess.

And I still think that you underestimate the speed at which things can unravel. Its easy to believe in the apparent strength and integrity in our institutions, and democratic norms, right up until they collapse and/or lose all credibility. Which, given Trump's presidential cabinet so far, there is a non-negligible chance of this actually happening.

But, as things currently stand, I concede that there may be no way of proving my assertion until after the fact. So, yes, only time will tell if you are right on this point, or if I am. All I will say is that, once the Electoral College casts its vote, all bets are off...

Or how long it takes to recover from them. Many of the things Trump is talking about dismantling took more than four years to build. There's research progress that will be set behind a great deal just from the time it will take to reconstruct them.

I'll grant that, and at least we can both be hoping it doesn't go that bad. It's definitely true that American democracy has never been tested as strenuously as it will be in the next few years. Even the actual American Civil War, as ugly as it was, had more-or-less clearly defined geographic boundaries for its warring sides.

That's definitely a huge concern as well. I've said before that the GOP is going to do decades worth of damage even in this short period. Not to mention the theoretical damage going forward from a right-slanted Supreme Court, even an honest one, ruling on civil rights cases.
