Adding an Attachment
« on: November 12, 2016, 09:40:19 AM »
I have a file I would like to attach to my responses.  It is a PDF I made myself.

Usually, I click on the paperclip icon and can attach a file.

But I do not see that feature.

Is there a way to attach a PDF file?

I don't believe there is, but you could host the file for it elsewhere, or possibly in the wiki, and then link it in your signature.

BBCode does not have that functionality, to my knowledge.  Being that it is a pdf file, you would need to host it offsite and link it.  The wiki can upload images but not document files.  If, rather, you just wish the content, you can make a wiki page for it with the content (but you can't upload pdf files as far as I have ever seen).

I disabled attaching files for the forum because it is insanely inefficient.

.pdf files (along with .ogg and .mp3) are in the approved extra extensions list for the wiki. You can upload your pdf there and link the file.

And I just had a G. I. Joe moment... :)

I did not know you had a wiki.  Thanks.

There are people who have been here for several years and still aren't aware of the wiki >_>

Thank goodness.  It's probably the only tab I hadn't looked at.
