I went ahead and posted a couple of topics, because I think it's a pretty definite thing and I don't need to advertise for players anymore. I didn't get too far in depth, but I wanted to give you a heads up on what's happening.

I put it in the Non-consensual area, just to cover us. While I don't intend to have anything like that happen, I'm open to the posibility. If anyone has any objections or anything, please let me know.

Okay, so it turns out I'm a moron. Those are the actual links.

OH! Serenity! WOO! Awesome show, and movie. >.> There still room? If so, I'd be interested in throwing myself face first into this one. Hell, doesn't matter what I'd play.....Though, I suppose just one of the weapons specialists types sense most of the good spots would be taken by now. ;p

There have only been 4 characters posted in the thread so far.  Companion, rancher/trick shooter, mechanic (my character), and knife fighter.  I am not sure if the others are still interested or just haven't had the chance to post theirs.  My advice, make a character, and see from there.

Did you find a doctor?  I'd love to play an out back doctor someone who focuses more on the herbs and powders then high tech gear but still knows how to use it if he needs it.

Ok, correction on my part, the knife fighter is a doc.  Look over these two pages, and the Character Creation page, look over the characters, and see what you think.  Won't say another doctor wouldn't be nice, but probably could use a few more gunhands.  But, I am not running the game, so take all of that with a grain of salt.

<arcs an eyebrow>  Trying to get a second opinion on me, Jonas? <sticks out her tongue>  See how well YOU fare under my knife the next time you get shot then. :)

Is that a threat?  Maybe I will forget to check on the life support in your quarters then.  :)

Who says she'll be in her quarters?

Coottick - I don't see a problem with that, though we're running a little high. You will, however, hopefully help fill out our male/female ratio. It really depends on the type of character you make.

Randilin - Your character sounds interesting, to say the least. The only real problem I see is that we'll end up with a shortage of herbs, since it is incredibly difficult to grow things on a ship. Without the herbs, you'd end up as the same as the other doctor, more or less. Unless I misunderstood your concept.

She has to go there sooner or later.  And if not, there is always the direct approach.

I've sent off a character that'll hopefully fill a spot on the crew. :)

So, looks like all the key spots are taken. Other then another gun hand. So, that'll be a good spot for me. I've no problem with filling any role though if you think of a spot that I missed that'd be more important to fill. Filling out a character sheet now as we speak.

Herbalist could just be one wierd side to the character,  I was thinking of giving them an asian feel with traditional Chinese Medicine so things like acupuncture and the like could be added in as well as a martial artist for combat.

If you'd rather I start with a completely different concept just let me know what you need?  I do have the book already and am familiar with the game

Our pilot has unfornuately had to leave, so if you'd like to go switch to a pilot, you may. Otherwise, continue on with the character concept you have. I'm sure we'll have decent piloting abilities until you can pick up a professional. That could always be interesting.

Couldn't he be trained in both if he was on Sihon the other Alliance world that matters they are froma Chinese origin so they might offer traditional and Chinese medicine at their medical schools, much like China now. As for herbs medicinal herbs would be stored and sold very much like any other medicine in fact on the Border may be more prevalent with real drugs rather expensive. I'm sure on a decent sized planet he could stock up for the coin and maybe get herbs to trade from more remote planets.

It's actually pretty easy to grow things on a ship, given the science of hydroponics.

Convincing the captain to put aside a bunk or a section of the cargo bay to invest in and devote to hydroponics, on the other hand...

I go to a Korean medical provider using natural cures and she has racks of herbs and roots in jars along the wall, you wouldn't have to grow them, just by them and store them away.

Hmm does this ship have need of one that has mastered the art of making protein mash edible? Think if there's a cook's opening I might be interested in taking it...well cooking would be the main skill, not a bad shot with a rifle either ;)

You mean it is possible to make protein mash edible?  I didn't think it was remotely possible.

We didn't have a cook, but one of the players was changing their character, so that may change.

I'm sorry, harleyDude and Lanzlo, but I think I'm full up for now. I'm going to have my hands full with eight people, at this point, and I'm not really looking to pile on more and frazzle my brain. If it continues to go well, I can look to you in the future and perhaps get you added at some point as a passenger with the hope to become crew. I'm all for adding cameos for people as passengers, but I think the crew is pretty fleshed out at this point.
