Name: Oliver Queen
Alias: The Arrow/The Hood
Age: 27
Race: Caucasian
Sex: Male
Orientation: Heterosexual
Occupation: CEO of Queen Consolidated
Height: 6'2
Weight: 210 lbs
Personal Effects:

-Customized Oneida Kestrel Compound Bow: This Customized Oneida Kestrel Compound Bow serves as Oliver's bow, it was designed by Felicity. It can fire 2 small explosives from the ends of the bow riser. Oliver also uses it as an improvised quarterstaff.

-Trick arrows: Oliver has used custom-designed arrows such as incendiary arrows that explode on contact. On occasions, he has also been known to use arrows embedded with recording and listening devices.

-Flechette: Oliver, as The Arrow, carries flechettes or the equivalent to darts to disarm people.

-Arrow Costume: Oliver wears a costume as his heroic alter-ego, The Arrow, to hide his identity from his enemies, when he goes out fighting crime.

-Arrow Gauntlets: These gauntlets are used by Oliver (as his heroic alter-ego The Arrow) to carry his flechettes.

Personality: Prior to his time on Lian Yu, Oliver was the stereotypical spoiled brat and bad boy. He was unimaginably rich, a playboy and didn't care who got hurt due to his actions. He was also laid back, selfish, and a manipulator, back then. He underwent a rapid change in his personality when his father killed himself, so that Oliver could survive and right his wrongs. During the five years that Oliver spent on the island of Lian Yu, he was molded by the many trials and tribulations he underwent into the man he is today; strong, stoic, caring, and filled with a newfound sense of justice that motivates him to fight crime as the Arrow.

Brief: While visiting Gotham with the rest of his team, Oliver Queen was trapped within in the city when it was cut off from the outside world. He now works as the Arrow to try and figure out a way out of the mess he has found himself in, so that he can return to his own home city and resume his war on crime there.
Role Play: Batman Verse (Free Form)

Extra:

Backround:

Oliver Queen is the son of Moira Queen and Robert Queen, and the oldest son in the Queen family. Until his fateful trip with his father out on the seas, Oliver lived the life of a rich and arrogant playboy. He cared little about anyone but himself, and did nothing but spend his family's money. That all changed on the day he was shipwrecked on the island of Lian Yu. His Father confessed to him of the many shady and corrupt business deals he had been involved in with many of the businessmen of Star City before committing suicide, knowing that there were only enough supplies in their lifeboat for one person. He left Oliver a list, asking him to right the wrongs that he had committed during his life.

Oliver spent the next five long years of his life stranded on the island, training and honing his body in order to prepare himself for the crusade that he would undergo should he ever escape the island. He was involved in many adventures with many different people; but it would likely take Oliver another five years to recount everything that he experienced on the island. Suffice to say, the Oliver Queen that came to the island was a very different Oliver Queen than the one that was eventually rescued five years later.

Upon returning to Star City, Oliver wasted no time in fulfilling the promise he had made to his Father. He fashioned a costume for himself to hide his identity from his family and the people of his city; using his mastery of archery to hunt down the corrupt men on his Father's list and criminals of Star City alike. But as skilled as Oliver was, it was impossible for him to go it alone forever. Eventually he was forced to bring others into his fight. First it was John Diggle, a former military officer hired by his Mother to serve as his bodyguard upon his return to the world. And then it was Felicity Smoak, an IT girl at his family company that was drawn into the circumstances surrounding his Father's list by his step-father, Walter Steele.

Their was some friction between the trio at first, but soon they were a well-honed crime fighting team. And together, they managed to unravel "The Undertaking", a plan put into motion by the Father of Oliver Queen's best friend Tommy Merlyn, Malcomn Merlyn. Now they continue to work to clean up the streets of Star City as Team Arrow.

Thanks for making those simple changes. I'll be adding him to the character sheet thread. Both characters are currently on a trial period as I don't know how this will effect the game over all. I want to make sure everything flows well.

Brief: Teen Crimefighter native to Gotham City
Role Play: Batman Verse (Free Form)

Background: Born and raised in Gotham City, Stephanie Brown is used to the rough side of Gotham. Her father was a perpetual looser villain wanabe named 'The Cluemaster'. And when her father wasn't in Blackgate, he was leeching off Stephanie's hard working mother while he set up his next 'criminal masterpiece'. As a result, Steph grew up on the poor sides of Gotham, her only escape being school and the free classes she took at the rec-center. Finally, Stephanie got tired of her father acting as an anchor on her mother. She discovered a hidden cache of her fathers criminal gear and altered the spare costume she found there to fit her. Dubbing herself 'The Spoiler', she tracked down her father to a meeting place where he was planning a crime. Knowing the plan ahead of time, Stephanie sabotaged the site, resulting in her father being captured and enough evidence turned over to the police by an 'anonymous tip' that lead to the gang's hideout, that Cluemaster was sent to Blackgate for 10 years before he could apply for parole. Pleased with herself, Stephanie continued her career as Spoiler, fighting some of the local gangs making trouble in her neighborhood. Then, Gotham City was thrown into chaos with the EMP blast and the prison break. Her father's back out on the streets and Stephanie is trying to help the forces of law and order in Gotham however she can.

Escapologist: Riddler is adept in escapology. Since childhood Edward has been a big fan of the late great Harold Houdini, using this skill to build his infamous elaborate death traps and to easily escape handcuffs.

Race: Caucasian

Sex: Male

Orientation: Straight

Occupation: Criminal

Height: 5'10"

Weight: 180lbs

Personal Effects: A fine green suit, a cane with a question mark handle

Personality: Sociopathic, Narcissitic, Edward uses riddles in all of his crimes as he is forced by his psychosis to tell the truth.  This makes his capture particular troublesome, as he can be forced to spill the beans, even if it usually is in the form of a riddle.

Role Play: Batman Verse (Free Form)

Background:   The Riddler's compulsion stems from parental abuse that he endured as a child. After Edward got high scores on some important tests in school, his father, unable to grasp the fact that his son was brilliant and believing he had cheated, beat him out of envy. This, in theory, left him with a strong internal desire to tell the truth, and prove his innocence. This desire manifests itself in the form of his obsession with riddles. His madness, as well as his descent into crime in general, may also have roots in a yearning to rise above the anonymity that he possessed in his youth.

As Edward Nashton grew older, he opened a crooked carnival booth involving a diabolical puzzle. The customers would compete to solve the puzzle for prize money, but if they failed to do so, they would have to pay Nashton a small fee for competing. In every case, Edward rigged the puzzle in advance to ensure that the customer would always fail.  Unsatisfied with the small pickings of the puzzle booth, Nashton closed the carnival attraction and a confident Edward announced to himself he was clever enough to use his wits for crime and baffle the upholders of the law. Nashton concluded he would commit puzzling crimes and always fix the duel of wits between him and the law so he would always win. Donning a green costume covered with question marks, he turned to crime and set out to achieve infamy as the Riddler. At first, the Riddler proves initially successful, launching a crime wave across Gotham City. Batman soon deduced that the new villain was leaving baffling clues for the law in advance of each crime and began acting on the clues to thwart the Riddler's puzzling crimes, although Nashton swiftly evades capture again and again.

You could do both, everyone is allowed two. Just remember to account that Tim has to have become Robin on his own.

Name: Helena Marie Bertinelli
Alias: Huntress
Age: 27
Race: Italian
Sex: Female
Orientation: Bisexual
Occupation: Officially CEO of Davidow Capital, unofficially Don of the Bertinelli Crime Family
Height: 5'10
Weight: 120
Personal Effects: Various weaponry with a focus on crossbows, including a wrist launcher for micro-bolts. A utility belt that while not on a level with Batman, does seem to be effective--if inventive at times.

Personality:

Since surviving a massacre, Helena has always been a distant soul. Though she has become more personable as she's grown older, she still tends to live an insinular life with few very close friends of any kind. Unlike other obsessed vigilantes, however, Helena can be absolutely charming. Deep down she does care about others, though she can too often be coldly academic.

Or she can be a raging, murderous, psychopath.

Brief:

Helena has been back for years, though the Huntress appeared only shortly before the city was cut off. Helena uses muscle and stores to keep Little Italy relatively safe and those within mostly well fed, though the group shows no signs of expansion. The Huntress has been watching, unwilling to make her presence known before getting a better picture of what's going on.

Role Play: Batman Verse (Free Form)
Extra:

Backround:

The most often mistaken fact about Helena Bertinelli is that she's American by birth, not Italian. The confusion is understandable, since she left the States at an early age. The the very next day after her Seventh birthday, in fact, her immediate family gunned down during her birthday party by gunmen that police never did identity in an event the Gotham Gazette called at the time; "The city's bloodiest birthday bath."

Some saw it as an ill omen for the child and the Bertinelli family as a whole, the truth of it being that the family had been losing ground to rival Gotham families for years at the time of the massacre. No one quite knows how Helena survived, but since she was just a year earlier kidnapped for ransom, the Italian branch of the family decided enough damage had been done to the girl, that the only option left was to bring her to Italia.

The plan was for Helena to marry one of her second cousins, or a family friend on the way up. Plans that weren't unheard for a Mafia Princess that had lost her family in bloodshed. But when the family Patriarch's brother, Giovanni Bertinelli, took the little girl with him to hunt fowl...the plans for Helena would never be the same again. Once the foremost assassin in the Mafia, Giovanni knew a natural born killer when he saw it. And in young Helena, he saw it in spades. No one could blame Giovanni for not seeing just how far Helena would go in that moment.

For most of her life, Helena remains an after thought. She is simply the pretty girl more interested in books and learning than in dancing and boys, no more attention is given to her than a few failed attempts at courtship by local young men. (Nevermind she's a lesbian, a fact that still remains private information to this day.) Even her high marks at University doesn't seem to attract much attention from Mafioso rivals or law enforcement alike. As far as they're concerned, Helena's the good girl of the Bertinelli clan. A belief furthered when Helena starts turning old assets of the family once used to cover crimes as start up capital for new investments.

A belief brought into question when Helena finally returns to Gotham City, assuming her place atop the Bertinelli family remnants in Gotham. Although the Gotham City Bertinelli branch at first begins to pivot attention from crime to legitimate buisness just like all the other branches of the Bertinelli family have believed to have done, quickly it becomes clear a new family is infilitrated Gotham, stealing information and resources and men from other families in the town, seeming stocking up for an attack on the criminal establishment of Gotham City.

Rare as a woman to be atop such an organization as a Mafia family is, unthinkable is the idea of a masked vigilante by night acting as a Mafia boss during the day. Impossible as it may be to believe, that's exactly what's happened when the return of Helena was shortly followed by the appearance of a masked femme fatale dressed in purple and black known for exessive violence, and the usage of crossbows. Whether anyone can connect those dots before Helena Bertinelli either gets herself killed by her own 'Family', or crowned the crime lord of Gotham City, remains to be seen. And whether Helena Bertinelli aims to be hero or villain...no one seems to know.

Least of all Helena Bertinelli.

** BATMAN4560 ... let me know if you think this is fucked.  Tim Drake as a character is a pretty tough one to create a background for considering the changes to the "Origin" storyline.  I got creative.  I don't plan on making him an uber badass like The Bat.  Competent, capable with a good deal of potential but still very inexperienced. **

Name: Timothy Jackson Drake - "Tim"
Alias: Red Robin
Age: 18
Race: Caucasian
Sex: Male
Orientation: Hetero
Occupation: Network Security Consultant...and costumed vigilante
Height: 6'
Weight: 166 lbs

Personal Effects:

Tim always has the following items when on patrol...

Bo: a custom-made, retractable bo staff that serves as Tim's primary weapon. The bo has small holes drilled in either end to create a whistling effect when wielded, which disorients opponents and keeps them off guard. It can deploy a basic shield at the touch of a button, and contains a retractable blade at the top, effectively making it a spear when needed.

Throwing discs and 'R'-shurikens: offensive weapons that can be thrown as projectiles or boomerangs.

Grappling gun: a sidearm that fires a projectile with a metal-laced paracord attached to it. The projectile is meant to latch on to a surface so that the user can either swing, climb the rope or retract the rope very rapidly, pulling the user toward the hooked surface.

Cuffs: handcuffs and zip-cuffs used to contain criminals.

Tracking devices: miniature devices that connect to hacked satellites and then planted on people or objects to track their location.

Communications device: a small device designed to sit in the outer ear canal that maintains an open line of communication between Tim and other heroes in the field, local authorities and media publications

Suit: Tim's suit consists of red and black kevlar, armoured, reinforced gloves and boots and the token black "domino" mask.  A pack on his back can extend or retract specialized "wings" that will give him limited flight and gliding ability when "stiffened" or to simply double as a loose hanging cape.  The pack is able to; on a limited basis produce a short burst of propulsion to assist flights of longer distances.

While not always carried with him, Tim has access to the following devices (barring a lack of space to carry them) if he is able to plan ahead...

Bolas: cords with weighted ends designed to ensnare opponents when throwing in a gyrating motion. These bolas can emit an electric shock if needed.

First aid kits: used to administer to the wounded or to temporary heal injuries to his own body.

Gas mask and re-breather: devices used to aid breathing in hostile environments or underwater.

Plasma torch: a cutting torch used to 'slice' through metal.

Lock picking tools: a set of tools used to gain entry into otherwise inaccessible areas.

Micro-camera: a small camera primarily used to collect photographic evidence.

Micro-computer: a small fully-functional computer.

Cryptographic sequencer: a peripheral device used to aid in hacking and decoding cyphers.

Explosive pellets: miniature explosives that can be used offensively, but are primarily used to aid in escapes.

Return to Gotham

Bludhaven Suit

Backround:

Tim loved computers.  A shy, serious boy, while his young friends were out playing games on the streets of Gotham he was indoors where things made sense.  His room...his computer.  Computers had rules just like everything but he understood these rules and he understood how they could be bent...and broken.  Growing up in Bludhaven when not at school he spent his time learning.  Always learning, always pushing.  Always seeking information as he quickly learned that information held a certain kind of power.

Which was precisely what he did...accruing knowledge and expertise in computer programming, development and engineering as well as hacking.  While tempted to step outside of the constraints of the law like a number of hackers, Tim went another route.  While needing to exercise some dishonesty due to his age when he was fifteen years old, he started his own network security consultation company.   He was forced to conduct his transactions with his clients over the phone and modified video camera feeds claiming that he, Tim Drake was just as security expert that worked for Lars Haskovec; the CEO of Nova Network Security Professionals.  Once client became two...which led to four and then ten.  Word was out that Nova NSP was more than capable of securing a company's network and stopping all unwanted, unsolicited and illegal traffic both from within and without.  By the time Tim was sixteen, he had secretively accrued well over forty million dollars making Lars Haskovec the most interesting, elusive and seemingly eccentric tech-based millionaire in America.  Always denying interviews and sending his favourite protege, Tim Drake to meet with clients both current and prospective.  While originally put off by Tim's age, his serious demeanor and intelligence would win them over eventually.

When Tim was seventeen. Nova NSP had caught the eye of S.T.A.R. Labs and offered a wildly lucrative contract.  Tim's "company" would be providing network checks and security for S.T.A.R. Labs in America, starting with their advance research weapon facility in Gotham City.

It was also at this time that Tim became aware of the existence of Batman.  Not known to the general populace but Tim's eyes and ears stretched out to every computer in Gotham city and in time he began piecing together the existence of the Batman.  Batman's struggles and seeming goal to do battle with the advanced, aggressive and wildly unusual criminals that were starting to show up in reports in Gotham.  It was also at this time that reports of similarly dangerous and unusual criminals were showing up in Bludhaven.  Their existence only served to further encourage Tim to follow Batman more avidly.  Observing his methods and learning what might be done for Bludhaven using Batman's actions in Gotham as inspiration.

It was later that year, while using proprietary, self-funded and an advanced virtual reality helmet to run diagnostic and security analysis on the S.T.A.R. Labs Gotham City mainframe; Tim happened to come across data that suggested he wasn't the only part interested in keeping tabs on The Batman.   S.T.A.R. Labs had taken interest and they had an overwhelming amount of data on the caped vigilante.  Analysis on methodologies, patrol patterns, combat expertise, tactics and gear all with supporting footage;  Tim was amazed by the data he had discovered.  He was also concerned. He was not sure why  S.T.A.R. Labs would be keeping surveillance in such detail on Batman but he could not deny that this was stepping outside of their normal methods of experimental design and research.  Further sifting through encrypted data revealed their plan.  It wasn't "their" plan but more, the idea of a single scientist at  S.T.A.R. Labs.  It was his hope to to obtain enough data on the Batman in order to train an elite fighting force that  S.T.A.R. Labs could license out like a burgeoning private military contractor.

That was when Tim accidentally tripped his own Nova NSP security protocols as well as  S.T.A.R. Labs security counter measures that he had not been aware existed.  A massive amount of data; the data on Batman included; and was immediately routed back towards Tim through the network in an attempt to cripple his computer and ruin it.  There was no "computer" to receive the avalanche of data that rocketed back to him at unfathomable speed.  There was only the advanced virtual reality helmet that he was wearing and operating through.  There was a massive, splintering whine that slashed through Tim's head as well as blinding light that at that moment Tim thought was melting his skull and teeth and then there was darkness.

Tim came to sixteen hours later, laying on the floor of his secure computer lab; his virtual reality helmet no longer functioning.  His eyes hurt...spots still swam in front of his vision and he had a splitting head ache.  He had enough good sense to check that  S.T.A.R. Labs had been unable to track the massive breach back to him and he had missed a number of calls from  S.T.A.R. Labs concerning the breach.  Emails were sent, calls were made and reassurances were given that Nova NSP would be taking care of the matter and reporting on the breach once they were able to do their analysis.

Then...Tim Drake went to bed.

He dreamt about flying.

It was over the next two weeks that he realized that something was wrong.  He was losing his focus easily...he would be in mid-sentence explaining something and then it was almost as if something took over and he was speaking...differently.  As if he was using someone else's words...or as though he were possessed.   It took a terrifying month of research, trial and error and constant analysis until he realized that he wasn't "possessed".  He simply had a massive amount of data forced into his head; first and foremost...all of the data that  S.T.A.R. Labs had on Batman.  It took another month for Tim to realize it was more than just data...more than just knowledge that he had been "given".

He knew...kung fu.  To be more precise...which was what Tim always preferred; he knew well over a dozen different forms of the martial arts.  He was constantly sizing up every situation and every person...always aware and ever ready for a fight to break out and what steps he could take if necessary to protect himself and survive that fight.  He moved differently. He moved with a greater sense of speed and grace and while not unfit, he rapidly grasped that his skills and knowledge wildly exceeded his physical capabilities.

And he still dreamt about flying.

Tim attacked his exercise regimen much as he attacked every other problem he had encountered before the accident.  He planned.  He was precise.  He was consistent and relentless.  By his eighteenth birthday, Tim Drake was a different person physically.  Paying for a team of nutritionists and experts on physical fitness, Tim transformed over nine months.  Still serious.  Still focused, but now strong, fast and agile, all with a library of tactics, strategies and methodologies of Batman carefully filed away inside his head and driving him.

He needed to do more.

He needed to do more than just dream about flying.

Much like Gotham needed Batman...Bludhaven needed...someone.

Over the next six months; using the fortune that Nova NSP had obtained, Tim either developed or acquired gear that was similar to Batman but not quite the same.  He had a number of suits created and he trained...and trained...and trained.  Three months before his nineteenth birthday he hit the streets of Bludhaven and patrolled.  In six weeks Bludhaven had their own vigilante and the lowest crime rates they had ever experienced in seventy years.  Where Gotham had their dark, brooding Batman.  Bludhaven had a crimson crusader, dauntless and vigilant.

Shortly after his nineteenth birthday; it was clear that things had gone wrong, horribly wrong in Gotham.  He needed to help.  He understood that Gotham was not Bludhaven.  That he might very well be in over his head in Gotham but he needed to try.  It was what Batman would do and while he was no Batman...

...he didn't dream about flying anymore.

The Red Robin had been born.

Backround: Slade Wilson was sixteen years old when he first enlisted in the United States Army, having lied about his age. He was pasionate about his country, and wanted to serve in spite of the laws prohibiting him. After a brief time spent fighting over seas, he was assigned to Camp Washington where he had been promoted to the rank of Major, due to quite a few admirable actions, and displaays of fearlessnes. Though, at the time his quite alarming lack of empathy was not known. While training at Camp Washington, he met Captain Adeline Kane who was tasked with training young soldiers in new fighting techniques in anticipation of brewing troubles. Kane was amazed at how skilled Slade was and how quickly he adapted to modern conventions of warfare. She immediately fell in love with him, and realized that he was without a doubt the most able-bodied combatant she had ever encountered. She offered to privately train Slade in guerrilla warfare. In less than a year, Slade mastered every fighting form presented to him and was soon promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Six months later, Adeline and he were married and she became pregnant with their first child. It was at this time that over seas conflict began to escalate and Slade was shipped overseas. At home, Adeline gave birth to their son Grant.

Some time later, Wilson volunteered for a medical experiment designed to stimulate his adrenal gland in the hopes of increasing a soldier's ability to resist truth serums. The experiment did not go as expected, and Slade fell into a coma. When he awakened however, he discovered that he was now capable of using 90% of his brain capacity, and his strength, durability and agility were increased to near-superhuman levels. He applied for re-assignment with the Army, but they refused him. Although his condition was now stabilized, depression took hold of him and he was desperate to serve his country. At this time, Adeline became pregnant with their second child, Joseph. Unable to further his career in the military, Slade turned towards hunting. He became a world famous safari hunter and great wealth followed soon after. Adeline always suspected however that Slade felt unfulfilled... So, through time, emptiness grew, and the need to serve his country became perverted. Changing... It grew to a need to hunt a different animal. After a close personal friend, and war time buddy named William was captured by terrorists. The military refused to take action in securing Williams rescue. Thus Slade took on a mask, and invaded the compound. After saving his friend, he realized how to fill the void he had been feeling. He put his name out there, and without to much trouble had became an mercenary while out in the African Savannah. And as his name grew bigger, so did the opportunity. Soon, the man known as Deathstroke earned himself a new nick name. A title if you will, on top of his self used code name. The Terminator. From mercenary, to world class assassin. His wife, none the wiser to his lies. As she always thought he was on a hunting trip. For animals.... At least....

A few years later, a group of hired mercenaries broke into the Wilson's mansion and kidnapped young Joey. Adeline attempted to fight them off, but a gas grenade prevented her from saving her son. When Slade discovered what had happened, he knew he could not keep the truth from his wife any longer. Slade was not only a world famous safari hunter, he was also one of the world's deadliest and most highly sought after assassins - Deathstroke the Terminator. He promised Adeline that he would save their son. Together, they flew to Tangier and squared off against a rival mercenary known as the Jackal. The Jackal wanted Slade to reveal important information relating to a client or else he would have his men kill Joey. Slade gambled on the idea that he could save his son before the Jackal could give the order. Unfortunately, Joseph's throat was slashed by one of the criminals before Slade could prevent it, destroying his vocal cords and rendering him mute. After taking Joseph to the hospital, Slade's wife, enraged at his endangerment of her son, tried to kill Slade by shooting him, but only managed to destroy his right eye. He blacked out, effectively near death. And when he awoke, his wife and child were gone. A clear message to stay away, left by his hospital beds side. An enraged Slade left the hospital, but as a man of honor, whom still loved her, he respected her last wishes.... And stayed away. For the longest time he was confused. His eye never healing, in spite of his rather effective ability to heal from any wound. Including brain damage. But, as it may seem.... Time heals nothing. Further, Not even a healing factor can heal the strongest of emotional wounds.

Without a wife or familly, all he had left was his work... His craft. He needed to... It was all he can do to move on. Without his eye, his confidence in his physical abilities was such that he made no secret of his impaired vision, marked by his mask which has a black featureless half covering his lost eye.  He transformed that day. From a simple assassin, to a man of business. Not merely to be hired, or used. But a man with his own plans, ambitions, agendas. He will always be Deathstroke, but to fill the empty void of loosing his wife and children he vowed to be so much more. From myth to legend, that would be his legacy. A hero to some, a horror story for many others.

Powers: Enhanced Vision, Enhanced Hearing, Enhanced strength, enhanced reflexes, enhanced speed. Heightened mental and physical awareness (He has a eye for detail, an ability to be aware of his surroundings. One that can almost only be described as a third eye and with it quick calculation. People appear to move slower to him, and his body reacts faster to his thoughts, essentially making him always one step ahead of the curb. His foes having finite ability against him in some... Perhaps even most circumstances.) A healing factor. (At a rate of which, healing cuts within minutes, deep wounds within hours, healing from certain death within days.)

Notes: I chose to describe his ability to use 90 percent of his brain, as a heightened awareness to his mind and body.
