Description: Kuniho, at first glance, is a somewhat masculine and extremely tall person. Clad in red garb designed for males with a wide mask to cover most of her features, it's really only her extremely long black hair, delicate lashes, and the faint hints of curves wrapped beneath her clothing that suggests her true gender. Not that she necessarily hides it, however, she simply finds that it's more fun to use her unusual height to dress like a man, and flirt with all the pretty geisha and peasant girls she comes across! Underneath her mask she actually has an old burn scar across the bridge of her nose and wrapping around her left eye, a mark she claims is a blessing from the fire kami that her passion has attracted the attention of . . or any number of wild and dramatic stories she tells. She is a fun-loving, and not particularly proud woman, prefering drink and good company to an honorable duel or courtly debate.
This, of course, is all flimflam. Underneath it all, Kuniho is a beautiful and curvacious woman with a sharp tongue and even sharper mind. She utilizes her acting and disguise skills to play the fool so that her true skill with both wordplay and steel is never suspected. She is a brilliant and ambitious woman, utterly devoted to her clan and their ideals for improving the empire. Whether it be through lies, steel, or sex, she will do whatever it takes to succeed in her mission. Well, when she's not enjoying a drink and a game of dice . . .
Backstory: Kuniho is an odd one, born in an odd way. Her pregnant mother was trapped in a burning building, with Kuniho being the only survivor once she was cut free from her mother's body after they doused the flame, the child partially burned across her face. Such a burn however was not truly a horrendous scar, but an auspicious mark, showing that the child was blessed by the kami and granted their grace. Growing up she proved to be a girl of great intelligence and passion, struggling to control her emotions and firey temperature despite being truly gifted in many things that she put her mind to.
Her Gempuku involved disguising herself as a man in order to secret away some . . . incriminating information about a minor lord, and Kuniho managed to succeed with ease . . albeit at the cost of developing a taste for her play acting. While not a member of the Shosuro Acting Troupe she's still quite talented, and has made it a habit to play as being a man while out and about and encouraging her 'fool' persona, and saving her femininity as a powerful weapon in reserve. Besides, who else can say that they seduced both a nobleman AND his wife, simultaniously? Since then her 'fool' persona has been encouraged, allowing her to wander freely and ensure that the overconfident samurai of other clans tended to see her as no more than a blundering idiot . . even as her popularity with the peasants skyrocketed from her looking out for their best interests and protecting them from bandits and ronin, the Scorpion clan eager to avoid another peasant uprising. With their stores of Opium and poppy fields damaged due to the Opium War, certain Scorpions like Kuniho have expressed . . . interest in this new rising family of Butterflies, prompting Kuniho to look into things. Starting with the geisha, of course.
