Specifically, I have a question in regards to NSFW images of Pokemon and animals. If you don't want to hear about any pokephilia or bestiality related things, please don't read on. I don't want to make anybody uncomfortable by posting this just because I'm interested in this topic, knowing that many others are not.

But, I had a question about the rules about images on Eliquiy, and how they apply to things like Pokemon and animals. Especially General Site Rules #4 and Rules for Images #3. First, General Site Rules #4 states sexual roleplaying can only involve physically and mentally mature characters. How does this apply to animals and the like, since some don't even live to be 16+ and they are often much less intelligent than even children? I assume it probably doesn't apply in that way, but I always say better safe than sorry. And about Rules for Images #3, it states that pictures used cannot include chibi characters. But a huge amount of Pokemon that exist I think classify as chibis. Can images of them therefore not be used? Only certain ones? Does it matter if the image is NSFW or not?

Also, if there are any other rule clarifications or things like that I didn't mention that you think would be useful for me to know, please mention them! I'm also not 100% sure if this is the right place to post this question, so if there is a better place also please let me know of that so I can move it.

General common sense for non-humans applies. There's probably art of Cell somewhere (who is technically six), but no one argues Cell isn't physically or mentally mature, shameless mass murder aside.

I can't say in advance how staff would rule on various pokemon images.

Oniya

The non-human ones (Tangela comes to mind) would be roughly classed as fictional bestiality.  Humanoid ones would be adjudicated on the same proportional guidelines as humans (Ralts would be right out, Gardevoir would be more acceptable.)

#3
Okay, good to know. I just have a few more clarifying questions to ask; what about the ones that are animals but still seem chibi-like, do they provoke any rules? Pikachu, Vulpix, Jigglypuff, Dratini, Eevee, and basically every single starter Pokemon come to mind as examples. Do they and similar looking pokemon count against Rules for Images #3 or anything, or does it not really matter as long as they don't resemble humans? And what about the more anthropomorphic-animal chibi ones, such as something like Riolu? Or more ambiguously aged pokemon, like Mawile or Sneasel? Both definitely seems less chibi-like than Ralts or Riolu, for example, but they are still at least anthropomorphic or humanoid, so do they count them as mature enough? Same curiosity goes for similar looking pokemon.
Apologies in advance for my incessant questioning, but I appreciate your helpfulness very much!

Oniya

Generally speaking, things that don't look human at all (which the first five fall into) are not judged by human standards.  While they are intelligent, Dratinis are snaky dragony things, Eevees and Vulpix are vulpines, and Jigglypuff is a ball of fluff.

Once things start looking more humanoid/furry-adjacent, then the question becomes 'Could this be mistaken for a minor.'  From our 'Gentle Reminder' post:

Quote from: Oreo on July 06, 2017, 08:03:37 PMIn the case of anime-styled images, many series have wikis available that list the character's canon age.  TinEye can also be very useful in determining an unknown character's origins.  Keep in mind that at 18 (the minimum age for images), a character is well into puberty and should show proper body development.  This is not merely 'T&A'.  Height, musculature, and skeletal structure are all taken into account when Staff has to verify an unidentified image.  An example of the differences between different age ranges can be seen here.  If a character is a 500-year old vampire and still has the body of a pre-teen, it is not an acceptable image.
