Thankfully pathbuilder is really good at simplifying the character creation process, I find a lot of fun in just tinkering with the site.

That being said, this is just an interest check so I would caution some restraint in getting too ahead.

Herolab online makes it fairly easy to throw a pc together.

Revelation

Alright alright alright, so I'm seeing 6 potentially interested parties, a healthy amount.

I'm not closing interest, just taking stock/note and that we have 6 potential people throwing sheets out when I make a thread or edit this into a recruitment thread. Just to clarify a few things

1) Discord is gonna be a requirement. If only for easy access to sharing information and OOC discuss. Also, dicebots.

2) I have not figured out a way to handle the map situation yet. PF2 is a system that plays poorly with theater of the mind as I mentioned earlier. I'm looking into possible solutions for this, and if anyone has a suggestion, I'm all ears.

3) Pathbuilder at the moment is the avenue I request PCs be built and shown off when recruitment starts. That being said, I know it doesn't play nice with IoS/apple devices as there's no app on the Appstore for it, I think it runs in browser but I am not certain of such. If this is an issue for anyone now or during recruitment, let me know. I'm trying to avoid having to look at sheets on multiple fronts, but I also don't want to turn away players due to such.

As far as maps go - one solution ive heard of is using Roll20 or a similar VTT as a static 'map'. Basically hosting a game in r20 that only exists for the purpose of displaying the current map and people's tokens, without trying to actually run anything in real time.

R20 is one method I'm pondering, I just worry about running out of storage space as Roll20 is conspicuously frugal about how much storage space non paying customers possess.

Not that it may be a huge problem if just using it for maps+tokens only and keeping libraries up to date, but it could come up.

owlbear rodeo is another option. you make rooms and load your maps into it.  You do need to be online at the same time as the player to assign them their token though. But after that they can just be moved as folk get a chance.

Revelation

Owlbear is the other option for sure. I'll need to find a way to get the maps from PDF to usable on any site we use.

Id imagine it wouldn't be an issue as long as you purge old, unneeded maps once that encounter is past.

So after reading the guide again, here's what I'm thinking:

Male Ratfolk, son of Zataku the fish keeper (the only ratfolk mentioned in the guide that I noticed). He's smart and curious, too smart to be content in the sleepy life of a fisher, so he was taken up as a clerk/apprentice by the lawyer Luo Xi Yang. The apparently collapse of the outside empire put his plans to eventually apply for the imperial law exams on hold, though, and more recently he spends a lot of his free time around the Mushroom House and is friends with Luda Bama.

I'm choosing the Close Ties background, but I'm unsure which of the two NPCs would be more suitable as my official ally. It's frustrating how little information the guide gives on Granny Hu, who appears to be the local crime boss as much as a tiny rural hamlet would have one, but she's also banned as an ally anyways.

Mastermind Rogue, as stated, with oodles of Lores and skills.

Revelation

Chances are I will muck around a bit more heavily with Owlbear and R20 in the next day or two just to get a better feeling for which will work largely for maps and token representation. But either way, it's likely to fall on one of those two.

I'm interested. I generally prefer putting an odd spin on core classes rather than anything exotic, so I'm thinking of a monk who's better known locally as a dancer, or a rogue scoundrel who's a visiting diplomat from Jinin. Leaning towards elf or half-elf.

Have a friend who is a fan dancer monk. She rocks out loud.

Hexed

Given free archetype is in effect monk with fan dancer should be quick to get off the ground.

Certainly seems a in theme n agile class. Lotta neat tricks.

Fan dancer monk should be A-okay.

I'll seek to start recruitment sometime soon. Dealing with insurance stuff which blows, and then gotta shop contractors for house repairs, but I am hoping that won't take too long. I would just prefer to start recruitment when it's a bit more stable footed.
