Turn off desktop notifications only?

I really like the alerts tab up top, but I'd like to get them without the popup. I apologize if I'm blind and just overlooked it, but all I saw was the timeout setting.

It looks like I can block them in Firefox, but that seems extreme, lol.

Turning off desktop notifications is set in the permissions you give the site through your browser. In Firefox for example there is a little icon to the right of the lock in the URL bar, "You have granted this site additional permissions" and you can disable them there accordingly and block it when the popup happens again.
