This is driving me insane.

Every time I have to modify my game post (includes bbcode, pictures, colored text, etc), my bbcode goes wonky to the point where I literally have to remove extraneous code that magically appears, re-center things, get rid of sizing codes, and so on! Am I missing some trick, or some easy way to deal with this?

Do you have a screenshot of the messed up code, by any chance? I know if I use the bottom modify button instead of the top one, it inserts weird symbols into my post, which is why I've stopped using it altogether.

I shall try using the top one... I've only used the bottom. I'll return with results :)

I have tried both modify buttons and both have had the same effect. Centering gets removed and extraneous sizing code gets added. It's all very strange and apparently is not happening to anyone else I have spoken to... therefore I chalk it up to something on my end that I will just have to deal with.

I know there is a modify button at the top of each of my posts but that is the only one that I am aware of and I never have issues.

There's one on top and then the little pencil and paper at the bottom!

Using the edit button at the bottom of the page has had a known issue that has been brought up a few times where it adds weird symbols like Flower has mentioned.

Tried them both... and the code just hates me! I shall forge forward and slay the hell out of it every time I need to modify  ::) :D

To me, this seems like it could be a wysiwyg problem.   The wysiwyg editor here is notoriously buggy and it does things exactly like you describe if you edit with  it.

If you search wysiwyg in the search  box in the top right of this page it will pop up about 25 posts about it here and suggesting options

But the short answer suggested is to turn off the wysiwyg editor, the last icon  blue arrow in red brackets on the right above leave it off, and edit by hand..

Hopefully that will help.

Nope... still removes all centering!

Ok, so after a lot of modifying, I found out the issue. When I click modify, I am brought to the screen and need to click on toggle view to be able to see the bbcode. In the process, I get changes in my code, like center or missing images completely. Does that help? It's like I have some weird default view when modifying!

Duhhhh me. So I shared my screen with people. Your response was correct, but I had it checked in "Look and feel" on my profile settings... and THAT needed to be unchecked. So now all is finally well! (sorry for the double post) Hope this helps others in the future.
