All About Archery

So, I've recently discovered my love for archery. It's such a great stress reliever for me. There's an archery club literally less than 10 minutes from my house.

I first tried it out in October of 2022. It was the night before my insurance license test and I was super stressed. Not just from that, but from Discord bullshit and friend drama. It was either archery or a meditation group. My dad and boyfriend both suggested trying something new - archery. I went to their Ladies Only night, and I had an absolute blast.

I'm still learning, but I'm getting better each time I go. I hope to join the club at some point, so I can go practice whenever I like. The club is open 24/7, and I'm such a night owl.

I feel like I found something I'm pretty good at. Not amazing, but I think with practice I could be really good at it. Whenever I go, I always feel better afterward.

Anyway, I wanted to make this thread for a few reasons; to talk about archery with people, keep a bit of a log of my progress and achievements, and maybe make some new archery friends - even if they are far from me. ^^

My dad is gifting me a membership to the local archery club for my birthday. We stopped by today and dropped off the paperwork and payment. All that's left is to wait for them to look over it and figure out who's going to sponsor me, I believe.

I love archery though it’s been literally decades since I shot. I taught it one year at scout camp and was really good.

I actually went to a Ladies Only Night on a whim. It was such a stress reliever! What ages were you teaching?

Let’s see I taught the Archery merit badge. So the youngest 13 to 18-19. You know Boy Scouts/Explorer scouts.

I'd be so nervous teaching other people something like that! Especially teenagers. lol Kudos to you!

It was fun, I got to run the action range every day and shoot skeet on weekends. Shot a 190/200 on a 20 target action range.

I think my application to the local archery club has been accepted!

I got my key card and gate code in the mail. ^^

I think this means I won't have to continue paying for Ladies' Night lessons on Wednesdays, but I'll have to check.

Oh, so much excitement!!
