Hello welcome to the Interest Check and Recruitment thread for a  BESM 4th edition game based around a pocket dimension I made. Please see the spoilers below for more information.

Game Concept and General Information

Game Concept and General Information:
The worlds Name is Nyanore
The City name is  Vlosa

This game will focus on 6  recently graduated students form the four technical institutes, with that being said not all institutes need to be represented. So if the players wish to have gone to any of the schools or  all go to one or pairings of two  from each of the schools or whatever break down the players wish to represent a particular Institute. Also please be aware that just because  the schools have listed strengths does not mean the do not teach other curriculum. So for instance you could be a Demon Hunter from Golden Oak just as an example.

The games opening scene will be fair, this fair will be happening at each Technical institute. In each one their will be artists  and artisans  and those seeking civilian careers and those seeking careers with Professional licenses to either join the Union or the Nyanorian guard. But however I would like the players to be looking to Join the union and the reason could be up to you its where you think you can reach a lofty goal or you just want to support a friend on their path. Those are just some examples feel free to create your own motivation for joining the union.

Also a further note the fair will have food vendors and performers present as well and they will likely be students that just graduated showcasing their talents.

Also a note about the world this is a urban, Modern fantasy game. So magic and technology do coexist and technology does not go boom around Magic(Like in the Dresden verse.) Smart phones laptops tablets all that  fun stuff exists. Also if you are playing a survival or wilderness focused character do not fear those elements will not be ignored just cause it is an urban fantasy world. Also a note the opening arc of the game will be you continued training and preparation to take on missions with out senior members of  the organization  you will be joining. So that is  the reason for the limits on stats and such so you have  things to grow and build on your basic competences of your characters as the game goes on. This game is based in a pocket dimension close to earth   but this is not public knowledge and  most people living hear do not know of the rest of the multiverse. Do not worry though I have plans for  the characters to learn more of the little slice of the world. Like all good things they will be revealed in time.

Do not worry I do not plan on having you stuck in the training arc forever I have more arcs planned that will be revealed in time. Muahhhaha!


Role playing board Will  be Bondage Non con  and exotics. This is to cover  our bases I do not plan on having rape as a part of the story but not  all bondage related activities that may appear in the plot  will necessarily be consensual and exotic will be to cover our bases on races and other elements that may appear in the game








Important World Information:


Technical Schools:

These Schools are the leading  institutes for academic learning and also prime  places to prepare for  service in Nyanorian  Guardsman. These institutes educate in a variety of  areas Business, Arts, Sports, Martial skills and a wide variety of professions. To prepare for either life as a civilian, politician or for service in the Guardsman, Graduation from these schools is always at  the age of 18 no one gets to graduate early even if you are  finished with the required curriculum. Their is an optional curriculum and Teacher Assistant programs available.

The northern region of the  city is serviced by Golden Oak Technical school. This is the leading Artistic and  crafting and technology and culinary   school.
The eastern region of the city is serviced by  Angelwood Technical institute. This is the leading institute for Aspirants and Magical healers and medical professionals..
The western Region is serviced by The Heritage Technical Institute. This institute is the leading institute for those who have skill in civic political careers and bureaucrats.
The southern Region is serviced by the Paramount Technical Institute. This is the leading institute for Military careers and renowned for training demon hunters and exorcists and combat oriented  casters.

The Nyanorian Guardsman are made up of  two branches.

The Sentinels: This is the pocket dimensions government standing army. This branch has 3 subdivisions and they are as follows:


The Shepherds: This is  the Military Intelligence Corps

The Silver Swarm : This  is  the Air corps of The  Nyanorian Guardsman

The Shroud is the Special forces corp of the Nyanorian Guardsman


The Union: These are paramilitary groups that have a variety of skills, They are problem solvers, freelance detectives and  many other types of specialties. These small units are not part of the standard military and are mostly hired hands  to various citizens. Though if a threat was big enough to the  pocket dimension the could be called up to volunteer to  supplant sentinel forces. The union is more a collection of Mercenaries then a government army. Do not think that the union does not have strict regulations on the types of services that can offered they do. Also inter fighting between  the different units of the union are not allowed. So if hiring parties have both hired member organizations of the union to  protect assets or get a job done and it places two member organizations against each other. Then the fate of  said asset is  determined  in a union ran competition, This has been instituted  to avoid  lethal conflict among members and provides protections for the hired organizations to still receive payment for the hired task regardless of outcome.  It is not union members fault if  those hiring do not keep proper tabs on competitors or other nuisances seeking contracts with union  members. This also helps the  police not get overwhelmed by corporate espionage cases or having to respond to kidnappings after the fact and try and rescue  the victims or apprehend the offenders.  Cause if someone is foolish of enough to hire union resources to abduct someone the usually find themselves caught in a sting operation and arrested. However there are those who have gone renegade  and left the union and ply their skills on the black market so union members still run a risk of running aground of rogue Union trained personnel. The Union maintains strict licensing and regulations on abilities and  certain equipment that must be regulated. This covers magic, to skills and weapons and tools  that  with out proper over-site could be used for nefarious and unlawful means.

The licensing is also to ensure union members are properly maintaining their training to keep their licenses. The union also has a very large bureaucracy  and its own police force. To capture and  in force union law and if the violations are  bad enough they will turn members over to the civil authorities after their investigation is complete.

Said Police Organization is the Union Customs Enforcement Bureau  or the U.C.F.B for Short.

Further information about the union, Hojojutsu is a regularly taught by many union member organizations and Shibari has become a time honored art and pastime in the society of the union. Shibari is treated like an art form and needs not necessarily have  sexual connotations. This Martial and art form are not taught at the technical schools, This is because the  Union handles teaching this. Civilians depending on career may be  able study Hojojutsu and  Shibari courses are offered to the public. Through the union hq or through individual Member organizations of  the Union

The government is run directly by Viphon, the day to business is handled by  trained bureaucrats  that to maintain a non civilian license must  forswear being active or affiliated with any  civic  political organizations. Civilian bureaucrats are allowed to  affiliate with civic politic organizations, but the have no place with direct governance. She is only know by the chief bureaucrat and in the inner council and a few others that have been secretly let in on the secret..

The Asrai have a secret presence here as  Viphon has helped develop a gadget that helps them blend in and hide their Asrai features. They are in place among the union and  the  Technical institutes.
Demons have mostly gotten in thru possession


Character Creation

Character Creation rules:

This is a Mythical  Benchmark Game and below their will be a breakdown of the total 149 points and  the starting values you can use for stats, skills and attribute points. Skill ,Stat, and attribute point  left overs will not be interchangeable so all points in these areas must be spent in the areas assigned

One stat above human average : rating 5
one stat at human average: Rating 4
one stat at below human average: Rating 3

or

all stats at 4


Skills receive:62
This is still capped at the 6 benchmark for Mythical for attributes as per normal rules.

Allowed Classes that fit the pocket dimension please note the point cost changes. The reason for this is removed the stat bonuses to the class templates. Also an important note Player character will be expected to pay the professional costs for the classes, which is the second number  listed  under point costs. In the case of hot  rod for pc the 29 point or the 26 point would be the appropriate values. For aspirant, Parvenu, Pugilist, Tech  Adept please see below the changes entries to see the new templates added. For the other class templates changes I will have a list of the names of appropriate class templates  please pm me to get the information  to these classes. This has to be due to the  table formatting not showing up at all in the forum.  I do apologize for the inconvenience.:

How does alternate identity even work? It says it doesn't change stats just looks. Unless I really misunderstood the entry.

And with your setting how do the magic girls even work with them coming from schools and being known?

I will get you more info on  the alternate Identity stuff  after work.

However I did anticipate this about the  Magical Girls and  I made some changes and made a entry level template called aspirant that allows for the magical girls to be present from the beginning with world appropriate edits. You can find that in character generation under the new class templates.

Saw the Aspirant, with alternate identity (normal human). It's actually part of what I'm considering. Or a pugilist. Or something between the two.

Alt identity being cosmetic is the part that's throwing me mostly given in the typical magical girl setup they don't have their powers without the transform while if I'm reading that right they have them in both 'forms' in BESM.

For the most part!

Do we have to use the templates? Or stick exactly to them? Like take the half dragon but alter the immunity and weapon and swap out flight for something else to make an amphibious half dragon instead of winged?

Well that took a while. So many ways to do it. :D

And here's the alterations for a Aquatic version. Debated on the element of the weapon for a while and almost went with electricity but chose acid mostly due to that being what the water type dragons breath in D&D.
