The Maidens Valley (Anime, Asian Fantasy, MFFF Polycule romance)

Intro & Premise

Hello, and welcome to probably my first attempt at a group roleplay on E for a long time. While I've been more of a lurker, I've been a part of E for a few years and would like to become more active in talking to people and making friends. That, and try playing out a long-loved kink of mine. I've been interested in the concept of harems presented in most anime & hentai. Rather than the typical "Guy gets a bunch of girls" angle that's common, I'm more interested in the idea of bringing people together and blossoming an intimate, loving, and deeply sensual relationship.

Hence, my interest evolved from harem, to polyamory relationships. Which is what I wish to play out here; a relationship where everyone loves and are devoted to each other.

The premise of the rp is a mix of East Asian mythology, action adventure and slice of life in which the players take on the role of a reincarnated polycule that works to find each other and discover their true selves. The biggest part of this kind of roleplay is the collaborative world building: Players won't just get to create their own character, but play a part in building the world of the game by slowly piecing together their character's past life and how it effects both the past and the present.

That said, this means I won't be seeking a specific co-GM. Since this will be a small group with emphasis on collaborative world building, I want to try letting everyone have a say in how things are run.

As for the romance bit: As aforementioned, the players -myself included- will be playing a polycule between three girls and one guy: The girls struggling to find each other and continue the relationship from their previous life. As this happens, the guy appears, bonding with these girls and slowly becoming part of their polycule, turning it from a triad into a quartet.

The rp will be a balance of smut and story, broken into two phases: Arcs and Interlewds. Arcs will be the phase where the story and characters progress. While sex can still happen, that's not the focus. Interlewds will be sections after an Arc ends where the players will focus on smutting it up with each other's characters. Story and character building can still happen, but that's not the focus.

Note:

• While this rp is meant to be light/consensual, there is an antagonist that brings a threat of non-con and dub-con. The point of the story is for our characters to fight back against this threat. So, if you're looking for non-con/dub-con cheating/cuckholding, sorry this isn't for you.
• Also, while I'm looking for 3 female characters, lieges, genderfluid people, and non-binaries are just as welcome as women. I would extend this to men, but I have tried erotic roleplaying with guys in the past and it just didn't work for me. So, sorry, gentlemen!
• Finally, this is meant to be a romance plot between four people. This is not a thread to have a bunch of girls come service me specifically., but rather for all of us to get together and have fun.

Now, with those out of the way, let's get to

The story

Centuries ago...

In East Asia, there were three girls, born from the union of a mortal and a being of great power: Perhaps a tryst between a polymorphed Fox Spirit and a curious village girl. Perhaps the daughter of a god, seeded within the womb of a priestess. Or even the product of a pact between an ambitious noble and a demon...


Whoever their parents, whatever the circumstances for their birth, these girls set out into the world, and eventually found each other. Having fallen in love, the three maidens settled into a coven in a valley somewhere in Nippon. There, the maidens lived and loved each other freely, openly, hidden from the eyes of the world.

In time, others came to this valley: Star-crossed lovers, grieving widows and orphans, those whose hearts grew sick from war. The valley was now haven for those seeking the maidens' guidance and even protection. But, not all who sought the maidens had pure intentions.

Warlords seeking to weaponize their powers, evil spirits seeking a strong host to reek havoc, lustful fools seeking concubines and trophy wives. All who sought to capture the maidens, would find disappointment, or a stern lesson in their power.

However, there was one who nearly succeeded. Try as they may, the coven's defenses merely slowed the demon down. As a last resort, the maidens unleashed a spell that would banish the demon back to the hell he crawled from. But, at the cost of their lives.

As the three maidens laid dying, they vowed to find each other in the next life. Then they would embrace again as lovers...

Present day Japan...

With the advent of science & technology, the supernatural forces have disappeared from the public eye. Mystics fiercely guard secrets their predecessors displayed openly. Mythological beings now hide from mortal eyes, or remain in their realm altogether. As far as the layman knows, the tale of the Maidens' Valley is -like many myths and legends- just that.

There lives three girls born apart, to normal parents, to normal lives. Yet, upon turning sixteen, these girls began having strange dreams; memories of a life not their own, and faces of girls they've never met. On top of this, they notice strange abilities emerging, and changes in their bodies. Perhaps one attempts to hide these changes; afraid she'll be ostracized by family and peers. Perhaps another embraces these changes, and tries to find subtle ways to use them. However they react, one thing is certain: The girls in those dreams are real, and they can't help a longing to be with them...

Abashiri Prison, Hokkaido

Fuketsu Ronin, like many others, sought the Maidens of The Valley. Like many others, he was unsuccessful. But, unlike the others, he would live to see the day they returned. While his old Dirty Ninja Mob was defunct, having been thwarted by others in the past, he begins to rebuild from his prison cell. So far he's recruited three promising disciples:

• Ryona, the former billionare mogul, whose sadistic tendencies has mastered various painful techniques of bondage, and torturous instruments.
• Saimin, an American immigrant who wished to be a teacher for all the wrong reasons. He's proven a natural for illusion and mind-altering ninpou spells.
• Futari, a devious crossdresser who's mastery of transformation grants him a female body, which he wields with deadly grace. Tits, ass and all.

When he sensed the time had finally come, Ronin and his new Dirty Ninja Mob broke out of prison. There was much to do before the Maidens reach the peak of their powers...

Hōsen-in, Kyoto...

In a temple in the forest, off the beaten path, the monks sit in quiet meditation. Yet, this would not last long as the temple is invaded by a band of ninja, who have come for a sacred treasure. Despite their efforts, these monks are no warriors. They fall like leaves in autumn. All except a young foreigner who manages to hold his own until blind-sided by the invaders' leader.

They recognize each other; The leader is the infamous Fuketsu Ronin, who was exiled from this very hall centuries ago. The young man is a member of the Jīnlóng Society in America, and a student of Ronin's old rival.

Despite his defiance, and refusal to join the ninja, Fuketsu allows the young man to live. He even tells him about his plans to capture the reincarnated maidens, and use their power to conquer Japan. Having gotten what he needs; The Kokū no kagami, the intruders flee, vowing to see the young man again.

In the hospital, the abbot is pronounced dead. The young man makes a decision; That Old Dirty Ninja must pay for this.

Your Character

Character sheets will include two parts: Past and Present.

Past should include the following:

• What manner of being sired your character? While the game does take place in Japan, feel free to use anything from Asian Mythology and Folklore. Perhaps your character hailed from China, Korea, The Philipines, or even India, and came to Japan. Hell, maybe a being from western fantasy or mythology came to Japan and mated with someone there? If you can make it work for the setting, give a try!


• What were the circumstances of her birth? What was her life like before she became part of the coven? Your character could just be the product of a tryst, and had to seek her own purpose. Maybe she was born to ensure protection and blessings for a village, then left to pursue other goals. Perhaps she was bred as a tool, or weapon for someone (or something) to use and escaped?



• What sort of effect would your character's past have on the world, before or after they joined the coven? Perhaps people dedicated to a shrine of her parent are awaiting her return? Maybe members of a clan still have a grudge against your character? Maybe their life's story has been adapted into a franchise of some sort?

Now, these aspects you will send to me in a private message and keep secret from the other players, gradually revealing to them over the course of the game. This will be done through Revelations your character has. When your character encounters something related to their previous life, I'll give you a prompt to write out a revelation scene, in which your character has a flashback, which reveals something about them.

What these triggers are will be based on what is already known about your character, and sometimes I'll simply ask if this person, place, or thing would trigger a flashback for your character. The more we learn about your character, the more triggers we can come up with.

Present should include the following:

• Name: You can include nicknames, alias, stage names, or anything else that applies
• Age: For this rp, characters will be between 16-22 years of age, in compliance with E's rules on ageplay.
• Occupation
• Notable NPCs: Other characters of note, such as family members, friends, teachers/coaches/mentors, etc. You will be in control of these characters
• Personality: This will include general mannerisms, interests/hobbies, talents, goals, beliefs/values, personal flaws such as bad habits,vices, misconceptions/delusions, phobias, traumas, and/or pet peeves. You don't need to include every detail. Just enough you think will give a good understanding of your character
• Background: Give a summary of your character's life leading up to the start of the rp. This includes how their visions and emerging abilities has affected their life, and how they respond to it.
• Spiritual manifestations: Describe how your awakening abilities manifest themselves.
  -How do they affect your appearance? If you were sired by an Oni, or Tengu, or Fox Spirit, you might sprout horns, wings, or ears and a tail. If they were a spirit, perhaps your hair and eyes change color, tattoo-like markings appear, or you manifest an aura?
  -What powers has your character inherited? Perhaps you become more physically capable, perhaps you have control over an element, can read minds, conjure weapons, or become more skilled in a certain craft?
• Appearance: This is where you show a picture of your character, and describe any non-obvious attributes. Please only use animated (2D, or 3D) pictures. Also, if you're making an original character, please use original artwork of a character that does not have a set identity. Nothing is more jarring than seeing someone trying to pass off a picture of Ahri from League of Legends as their “Totally Original Character Do Not Steal!”
  
  There's plenty of original artwork on places like gelbooru and sankaku complex where you can find a decent look for your character. Just punch "Original" and some attributes you want your character to have, such as "blue_hair"  or "oni_horns", etc. You should be able to find something you'll want to use.
  
  
  Note on Canon Characters:

  I will also give players the option to adapt a canon character to the plot. If you were to -again- want to play as Ahri from League, you can adapt her character into the story. For example;
  
  In her previous life, this version of Ahri was the daughter of a mischievous fox spirit and a farmer. In her current life, she's perhaps a Kpop star who's using her tour through Japan as an excuse to find the valley and girls from her dreams. She uses her powers to dazzle crowds, and charm her way through the rankings. But, in her heart of hearts, she yearns for the girls in her dreams, despite the rule against relationships. But, she must also be on the look out for Ronin and his disciples, whose fame would make her an obvious target.
  
  Also, while I'm on the subject, I'm actually interested to see if anyone is willing to adapt, say Chikaru Minamoto from Strawberry Panic, Most girls from League of Legends, or Galko from Oshiete! Galko-chan! as a character. It's not mandatory or anything, but I'm interested to see what someone does with any of these character.

Rules

• Respect E's general rules, that includes the rules on ageplay. 16-22 year olds only.
• Respect the other players.
  1. Don't Godmod, or metagame. Don't do something to some else's character unless that player gives you the OK. Don't try to reveal everything about your character all at once, it will spoil most of the point of this rp.
  2. Bring any disputes up with me and try to keep drama out of the roleplay. If you have any ideas, or concerns, bring it up with the me and the other players. Just like a real poly relationship, communication and teamwork is key.
  3. Please do not derail the RP. If you don't want to play as part of a polycule, or would rather play a promiscuous character and/or just hump everything, this isn't the game for you. Cheating is a touchy subject for me. But, if you want to try something, please run it by me first.
• No Mary Sues/All Powerful characters. While you'll be playing the daughter of a powerful being, you won't be leveling cities, or resurrecting entire graveyards at the start. Keep your character's abilities & skills balanced, sensible, and have them progress over time. But, don't think this means you have to start off weak either. In D&D terms, let's say our characters will be starting off at level 8-10
• Stay consistent. Try to make a decent post at least once a week. If there's anything interfering with your ability to participate, let us know.

  Jaden standards about 5'9”, keeping a slim & athletic build. He never goes anywhere without his shades
• Age: 18
• Occupation: Student, Vigilante
• Notable NPCs: Zhēnxiàng (Teacher), Modesto Quintanna (Friend), Saleel Ahmedi (Friend), Ichigo Weston (friend)
• Personality: Jaden is a young man who is very much concerned with honing his mind and body to their absolute zenith. As such, he is extremely disciplined, principled, and spiritual, being a student of the eastern martial arts and philosophy since an early age. Usually quiet, stoic, and introverted, the last few years has seen Jaden grow more expressive -if subtly so- and sociable. However, there are periods where he needs alone time to contemplate things.
  
  He's driven by a strong sense of justice and empathy, an influence from his friends Modesto, Saleel, and Ichigo. Hence, he has a habit of involving himself in others' problems. Being the rational sort, Jaden often tries to plan things out before he acts. But, this some times causes him to overthink and complicate matters.
  
  He also has a strong aversion towards conformity, which leads him to avoid mainstream trends, or any rigid standards. Furthermore, Jaden is very opinionated and sarcastic. Though good at debates, it does make him somewhat judgmental at times, though he's tempered this with tact.
  
  Due to his Ocular Albinoism, Jaden keeps his shades on at all times, and hates bright colors. He also gets very defensive about his shades, and doesn't like people touching them without his permission.
  
  Finally, Jaden is very sexually repressed. Until recently, Jaden had been avoiding anything involving romance and/or sexuality; believing the former to be distracting, and the latter to be immoral outside of marriage and childbirth. Lately, Jaden is beginning to let go of these prudish notions, but he's still very awkward and self-conscious about any interest in romance and sex. He does, however have a thing for Asian girls, and hides an appreciation for the yuri/shoujo-ai genre.


• Skills:
  -Trained Athlete: Jaden's pursuit of physical perfection has made him exceptionally fast, agile, and strong. He's very skilled in parkour and trial biking.
  -Seasoned Martial Artist: Since the age of 5, Jaden had been teaching himself martial arts, and had seen many a fight before joining the Jinlong society. His tutelage under Zhēnxiàng has made him that much more skilled. His favorite weapons are any swords that can be wielded in one hand.
  -Skilled Guitarist: Jaden has also been teaching himself guitar since the age of 10. His influences include various metal genres such as Djent, Nu-Metal, Groove Metal, Progressive Metal, and Melodic Death Metal
  -Intermediate Marksman: Since middle school, Jaden had been learning how to use a gun from his friend, Modesto. Over the years, he's grown proficient with any gun that can be wielded in one hand.
  -Multilingual: Jaden can speak Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, and some Korean.
  -Basic Qi-gong: Jaden has mastered the fundamentals of Qi control. With this, he can increase his physical toughness, speed, striking power, expand his senses, perceive the supernatural, and generate electric currents from his cells and manipulate elector-magnetic fields around himself, and conduct it along certain surfaces for a variety of uses.
  



• Background: Growing up in South Queens in New York, Jaden was surrounded by crime, and failure, making him fearful about his future. However, when he saw "The Matrix", he became fascinated the prospect of "freeing his mind", and began to delve into the martial and philosophical arts of East Asia. But, between overbearing parents, rowdy peers, and apathetic teachers, Jaden's childhood was rough and often solitary. Things changed when an incident in middle school prompted a move to Little Neck, New York.
  
  There, Jaden would meet the two other boys and girl who would form "Los Bandidos", leading a crusade against the cabal of bullies and deliquents calling themselves "The Syndicate". Once The Syndicate was put away, life seemed peaceful as Los Bandidos prepared for High school. Yet, there was another revelation: Modesto's late friend, Jeremy Hou has mandated in his will that Modesto would receive all earthly possessions, and Jeremy's "Earthly Destiny". It was finally revealed, this meant Modesto would take Jeremy's place as his family's successor of their secret marksmanship techniques, and be inducted into the scretive Jīnlóng Society. Modesto accepted, only if Jaden and their other friends would be accepted at first.
  
  While refused at first, despite proving themselves capable, as none of Los Bandidos were Chinese. However, when the founder of the society intervened, they group was finally accepted. Afterward, Jaden was introduced to Zhēnxiàng, a legendary martial artist, doctor, philosopher, investigator, and now, Mentor. While Jaden's prior training and experience made him a quick study, the training was still arduous and difficult. Beyond this, Zhēnxiàng also noticed how Jaden's imposed discipline seem to hold him back.
  
  Before he could finished Jaden's training, he sent the young man on a pilgrimage across Asia, to lose himself and find himself again. As Jaden traveled, he visited many temples and masters to meditate over his experiences. After several revelations, Jaden arrives at Hosen-In, in Kyoto, Japan as his last stop. However, during meditation one night, the temple was broken into by the infamous Dirty Ninja Mob, who had escaped from prison. Recognizing Fuketsu Ronin as Zhēnxiàng's old nemesis, Jaden sprung to action.
  
  Despite his skills and ability to take advantage of dysfunction among Ronin's underlings, he was still unarmed in an ambush. When Ronin restrained him, he explained to Jaden that he had come for the Kokū no kagami, The Void's Eye Mirror. With this, Ronin would be able to locate the reincarnate Maidens of The Valley. The old man then invited Jaden to join him. Naturally, Jaden refused. But, rather than killing Jaden, as he did the monks, Ronin releases the young man and leaves.
  
  Angry, mournful, distraught, confused, Jaden makes his mind to go after the Dirty Ninja Mob.
