PixelatedPixie

This would be a Shadowrun 5E game, though with inspiration from CthulhuTech (though it is still the Shadowrun setting, and no knowledge of CthulhuTech is required).

GAME IDEA

The idea I have is that a small group (2 or 3, though I've also debated 2 or 3 groups of 2 characters each if interest was high enough) of relatively normal women have been recruited, potentially coerced, into working for a corporation that is a cover for a cult.  The cult might have something to hold over them, but they also quickly find themselves implanted with a cortex bomb and as a result have little choice but to go along with the so called ‘corporate training.’

My intent is that the women are at once a team and in competition.  They are all being trained to be obedient agents, and part of that is to try and make them far more cutthroat.  The winner of any given competition would be rewarded, the losers punished.

I somewhat see the game being divided into three rough areas.
Mundane: The characters work cover day jobs, the characters are at home, the characters are out and about.
Training: A range of things, from legitimate training to literal slave training.
Missions: A mix of training and ‘real’ missions.  A training mission might be trying to seduce their boss to test his loyalty, a real mission could be any normal Shadowrun style mission.

CHARACTERS

The characters would be Street-Level and I would want them fairly normal.  They might have some relevant skills, such as if they worked as a security guard, but should have a concept that is relatively mundane.  A would-be trid star, a wage-slave, a trophy wife, that sort of thing.

If the character has potential plot hooks in their background that is a bonus, and I would be happy to discuss how to include them.  The trophy wife could be in debt and trying to hide it from her husband for example, and there could be a sub-plot of her hiding everything that is going on from her husband.

I would prefer characters that aren’t overly hedonistic to start, though certainly won’t reject them out of hand.  A character who is stuck-up and proper, a character who is innocent and good, a character who is powerful and in-charge, those might be archetypes I prefer (but again, won’t require).

The characters must be women, sorry.  Though I don't care what the player is.  I thought about leaving it open for a male or two, but due to my own smut preferences I am not sure it would work.

I will be fairly generous with Karma, though will generally want it spent in ways that reflect what is going on in the story (though saving it to reflect your character being bad at a particular type of training is encouraged).

SMUT

The game will be high on smut, probably even focused on smut.  The intent is that the characters are being indoctrinated into a hedonistic cult.

The game will be rated Extreme.  I will do my best to work with individual on/offs, but a player should be fine with things going on in threads that may not interest them.
A player, at a minimum, should be comfortable with non-consensual exotic, enslavement, corruption, bondage, humiliation, toys, machines, light pain, multiple partners, and so on.
I would like to include, but won’t require, bestiality, pregnancy, body modification, heavy pain, and so on.

The original inspiration was CthulhuTech, and specifically the Chrysalis Corporation and Dhohanoids.  I don’t know that the same thing can be done in Shadowrun, but I will still be drawing inspiration from the setting.  That includes, for example, monstrous humanoids such as the Deep Ones (or similar), magitech such as the X’an-Tuum Violator, and that sort of thing.

APPLICATIONS

I don’t need (or necessarily want) a full character sheet.  I am mainly looking for a character concept, a bit of a background, and an idea of how you might see them winding up working for the corporation in question.

Please also give me a rough idea of what sort of smut you want to include or avoid, in the context of the game (please don’t just point me to your on/off page).
Please give me a rough idea of what you want to include or avoid in terms of plot (potentially including character specific plots).
Please let me know how often you can post.  I am hoping to post roughly every 4 days, and would like people who can (more often then not, life happens) match that rate.

I will not be going first-come first-served in terms of character selection.  I will be leaving things open at least for a few days depending on interest, and if the thread is unlocked recruitment is still open.  I will lock the thread when I close recruitment so if there is anything you want to be able to copy (such as a sheet) please make sure to save it in an additional location.

Thank you for reading!

Hmn, I'll need to brush up on my 5e Shadowrun a little bit, but I'm definitely interested.  Unfortunately, I only know a bit about Cthulhtech, and the Dhohanoids are not among the bits I've come across.

While I'm tinkering around with ideas, how would you feel about a character who's big into augmentation, but due to the contract they signed the Corp/Cult is the one who gets to choose the job-related cyber/bioware they have implanted?  The idea is that the cult has an opportunity to "sculpt" them, both in body and mind, branding her with whatever aesthetic suits their dogma or needs.

While I'm on the topic, are there any races you'd rather people steer away from?

Oh, hey!  This is a really exciting idea, PAC.  i'd love to play.  I'll need to come up with a character to apply with.

I'm perfectly comfortable and enjoy all the kinks you described except for heavy pain.

A post every four days is usually pretty easy for me.  When something goes wrong and i lag behind, i don't mind being NPCed along.

I will probably pitch some form of girl with supernatural abilities, but I'll have to come up with her still.  I'm driving across the state in a few hours here, but i'll be on some in the next two days.  (Not this weekend, though, I'll be at a convention.)

I would like to throw my hat in this. I am thinking of an up and coming vid star who ended signing with / joining the wrong corp. Not sure of anything beyond that just yet. As far as  kinks I am fine with all the ones you have described save for Heavy pain and bestiality.
Life is a hard game but the rewards are sweet if you know where to look.

Choice is but an Illusion. Consequences are however real.

Thanks for your interest everyone!  Let me know a bit more detail on the character and hopefully we will be able to proceed.  I will probably be leaving recruitment open until the middle/end of next week due to an absence, but unfortunately won't be able to respond much to questions starting in a couple of days (if at all).

I don't plan to actually include any Dhohanoids, it is just where the inspiration started.  The character idea could work, but it would depend how you see them being beyond the augmentations.  What their job and/or role in life is.

I might prefer humans or elves, orcs could work.  The others are a maybe.  It really depends how the character is done.

Cessali

Putting my interest in!

My character idea is this: Emily Meyer, technical support customer service representative.  She left her relatively close-knit family for the Big City some years ago, hoping to be able to send money back to help with various and sundry as they needed it, but has been stuck by contract in wage slave work that has been stressful and unrewarding like so often happens in the Sixth World.  In a moment of foolishness and/or weakness, Emily accidentally facilitates some heinously illegal action (anything from facilitating money laundering to providing a link of access for a shadowrunner team) that could seriously compromise her life if it ever gets out, and this is used to blackmail her to leave that job hanging (breaking contract oh noes) to work for Cultcorp.

I can see her working for Cultcorp as a rigger, hacker, or even a face; she's got the basic technological aptitudes to work in the first two capacities, and the people/conflict management skills to deal with the third.  She might be taught basic infiltration skills to keep pace with her comrades/rivals in the field, but that's all secondary aptitudes.

Smutwise, I'm open to everything on the basic list; I'd personally like to avoid heavy pain (light is okay and the rest of the optional list works for me, too), and would like to try playing with sensory confusion and/or forced drug use on top of that.

I can typically post two to sometimes four or five times a week, depending on how in-depth responses need to be.

I'm just lurking, but Shadowrun equivalents for something similar to Dhohanoids would be Sheddim or bug spirits.
Probably not approaching Dhohanoid or Tagir level of competency and physical prowess, but these two factions are definitely body snatcher types and subsume their hosts.

Sheddim I don't remember if any modules went in depth with them, but they are beings of shadow and when attach to a host people get weird feelings of ''off-ness'' from them.
Bug spirits are more written about and you can find some pretty basic primer info on them in whichever version of Street Magic/Grimoire/Magic Creatures books you have as well as the 2nd edition sourcebook Bug City or any book that deals with some in depth knowledge of Chicago.

Some bug spirits even possess in such a way that they can blend in.

not super familiar with Shadowrun but love the concept of this.

My Character concept is Alice Walker a bartender in a fairly popular bar. Alice is a pretty good bartender she takes pride in it. Part of what makes her a good bartender is her people skills she knows how to get people to like her a feat no doubt aided by her attractiveness, and she knows how to get people to talk. Despite working in a bar she herself doesn't like to drink or do drugs she has another vice gambling. Alice had a gambling problem bad enough that she's in pretty deep debt even now due to it. Outside of her debt problem Alice's life has been pretty good an okay apartment and some decent friends at some point cult corp offered to help her with her debt and how could she say no?

Alice would probably end up as a face

Smutwise I like everything you have listed on both the basic and optional outside of that I'd like to see forced drug usage and forced exhibition.
I can almost certainly post the required amount

I'm back in town now.

Is it too late to do a full application here?  :)

Muse

Name Shayla Wright
Age: 22
Birthday: January 12th
Citizenship: Evo
Metatype: Elf
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Profession: Licensed arcane cosmetologist.
History: Daughter of Vernon Wright--a human district manager for Evo--and Melisandre Aragorn--a slightly less fortunate but very beautiful young elf.  Shayla grew up with conflicting messages.  Everyone told her all she had to do was be beautiful and sweet and a good hostess, like her mother, and a comfortable life would be handed to her on a silver platter.
The trids--and her own heart--told Shayla something different.  There was an exiting and dangerous world beyond the walls of her archaeology.  The magic that was her birthright made her uniquely qualified to grab life by the horns and shake!
Shayla flirted with this idea, learning two self defense spells and taking a few semesters of martial arts.  At heart, though, she loved her home and family.  Beauty was fun.  She loved to make creative fashions and do her friend's hair.  She loved makeup, too, and always delighted with her friends at minor cosmetic procedures to keep them all looking young and lovely.  By nineteen, her prince hadn't come  yet.  The boys saw her as a trophy or an art piece.  They didn't like that she insisted on  joining in on the conversations, and they really hated that she wouldn't put out.
So she took her major in arcane sciences, minor in fashion design, got a cosmetology silence, and went to work in an expensive Evo salon.  She worked with her hands and her magic to perform minor miracles for her clients.  Years melted away beneath her magic.  She restored hair to a vibrant sheen, and then expertly sculpted it into exquisite fashions.
Shayla can't prove why she was fired.  She's isn't even 100% sure.  She just knowes that she'd done an anniversary haircut for an extremely powerful upper management woman, and that woman had filed for divorce a few days later...
Was it really something that petty?
  What else could it be?

Question for when we start character desing, P.A.C.  Can we use Sum To Ten?  :)

I thought I had put a post up saying I would be away, but apparently I didn't.  ???  I hope I didn't post in the wrong spot somewhere.

I will leave things up for a couple more days then decide how to proceed.

The character looks interesting Cessali!

I probably won't be going down the possessive spirit route, it is just where the inspiration started.  I should look up Sheddim and bug spirits more though, thank you!

The character looks interesting.  I am not going to use Sum to Ten, it will just be straight Street Level from the main book.

I did.  Independence Day week just slapped me around a lot more than I expected it to, and it took me a little while to get my head around the Street Level side bar.  I mean, it's just less money, that doesn't exactly effect all archetypes equally.  Wierd design choice.  I don't think it'll matter much in this particular game though, given the focus on "normal" folks.

Tracy Wu
Age:  23
Birthday:  November 12, 2057
Citizenship:  UCAS, Lonestar
Metatype:  Human
Ethnicity:  Caucasian/Korean Mix
Profession:  Sales
History:
Tracy grew up in the protective arms of Lonestar Security Services.  Her mother was a coroner, and her father went from armed service with UCAS directly into the Fast Response Team (the "Brute Squad").  There was always a certain expectation that Tracy would follow in the family business, she learned to handle a gun early on in life, studied some martial arts, and had regular paintball outings (her father bucked the more traditional Lonestar pastime of hunting, citing the fact that deer can't shoot back).

Then, in 2071, Lonestar lost their Seattle Contract, and Tracy's career track skewed sharply.  There were mass layoffs during the transition, leaving many former officers without a path forward.  Not wanting to leave Seattle, Tracy's father changed posts to one of the contracts Lonestar retained, the much more dangerous Barrens patrols.  It made her home life rather tense, she was almost relieved to leave for college.

Tracy got training in journalism and media technology while away at college, having hoped to become a conflict zone reporter once she got her degree.  She instead ended up doing sportscasting as an intern for her two last years of college.  Specifically, she became an interviewer for Urbanbrawl and Combat Biker events in Seattle.  There, her easy and natural rapport with people who beat the crap out of each other for a living made her a local favorite.

Now a graduate, Tracy is trying to parlay her popularity into a position in sales with the Corporation, confident that she can best present the company's security, drones, and weapons technology to customers who don't know much about these things in an easy to digest manner.

Smut:  I'm good with all the things you laid out, with a slight proviso that I'd prefer bestiality to involve paracritters.
Stuff I Want To See:  I definitely want to Chrome the hell out of Tracy, watching her change physically as she comes to embody her role as an agent for the corporation.  I'd probably nudge forward some stuff with toys and machines as well, and maybe some manner of demeaning and revealing outfit for when she's training (maybe on missions?  Not sure if I'll have the budget for Distinctive Style while being a Street Level SINner).
Availability:  Once every 4 days seems like a nice, relaxed pace I should be able to keep up.

PixelatedPixie

I have sent out a PM to those I could accept into the game.  Thank you for your interest everyone and I apologize if I was unable to accept your character. :-(
