I recognize that I am about four hours late, but I had family visiting and failed to account for the difference between EST and UTC. Hopefully I can still squeeze Sanyebon in for consideration. I am not entirely sure how to insert an image into a post, so I have hyperlinked his image to his name.

Sanyebon

Race: Dhampir

Class: Mesmerist

History: Sanyebon was born the bastard child of a nobleman's daughter, and she left him behind in Sargava when she returned to Cheliax. Ignorant of his proper nature as a Dhampir, his caretakers attributed his unearthly beauty and inhuman grace to the mark of fey heritage – though the difference meant little. He experienced few mercies growing up under the thumb of superstitious pirates, surviving through indomitable cunning and a stern will.

Though he was raised to venerate Besmara, for years his dreams have been plagued with loathsome visions of an infernal city whose iron towers weigh upon the backs of the damned. The fickle goddess provided neither comfort nor shelter from the shadows of Dis, and so he has spurned her in favor of a patron whose covetous arrogance will not suffer another to claim him: Ragadahn, Father of Linnorms.

He has since relocated from Sargava to the Shackles, seeking fortune and running from a home that never fully belonged to him. He is wary of both the faithful of Besmara and the servants of distant Cheliax, as a child of two worlds who has spurned them both.

I, too, come begging past the midnight hour :)

Qan remembers little beyond the past few years... something of a home where wheat was grown in golden fields, something of sunsets on a quiet horizon of unmoving land.  She does not remember another name, nor a time when she was more than a slave.

In the ports of The Shackles she has served for three years, entertaining with song when commanded, her fists when demanded, and her body when there was no quarter given.  The only solace she has known are the quiet days in port cities when the drugs and the drink were forced too heavily, and her slumber was full of golden sunsets, or when she could sit quietly and listen to the tales of travelers or traders from ports and lands of which she could only dream.  Sometimes, when she sang well, she would earn a quiet night and decent food.  Sometimes, after a good fight, there was time to heal a broken hand or a swollen jaw before she was sent to work dock rigging, load crates, shell lotus seeds... but always, her songs and her history has been quiet, mournful, and alone... her throat dry and weak, her mind stupified from punches and grog.

But her master must have made a grave error, somehow, for she is no longer in the Shackles... at least, not on dry land.  She is adrift, amid new faces different from the pecking order she has come to depend upon.  What fresh hell is this?... or is this the moment, perhaps, when the chains have been re-fit, that she can slip free at last, and when the bit is re-set into her mouth that, some day soon, she can find her voice again?

*

Qan-- or Mockingbird-- is a half-elf, level 1 brawler who, incidentally, has a knack for singing and learning songs.  She has general amnesia when it comes to most of her life, but the past few years she has endured a harrowing life as human chattel, forced to fight, perform, and prostitute herself for a criminal 'master'.  If she can garner her freedom, or any measure thereof, she may find her voice to be the conduit for her anger and pain, and become a natural Skald-- able to channel that fury into her allies and drive them to frenzied heights of battle-rage as they face their enemies.

Sadly I can't come up with anything I like (aside from a goblin cleric of Gozreh, but I figure no one wants LIGHTNING GOBLIN on board a boat... ) - aaaand i don't think I could keep pace with the listed posting rate anyway, so...  :-\

Look forward to spying in on the game from time to time though!

Ok. So apparently I made a big mistake, and I'm very sorry. I made a typo, which may have confused people. I wrote 18th where I meant to write 17th.

We've already selected the first party, but we would like to consider both of you as well as everyone else for the second group. We were planning on running this in 4 to six weeks, but depending on my work schedule, I should be able to move it up, and Tam can join in as GM later. We'll close recruitment now, and we'll contact players who hadn't been selected over the next few days to discuss starting this second table.

Tamhansen

Just did a quick headcount. We had ten applicants who actually sent in characters. We were going to pick four players for each table, but we can't decide who to cut, so the second group will consist of six players, where Lisa and I will function merely as GM, meaning we have a bit less work there.

So the first group was
MingMing
PhantomPistoleer
Arcanist
ElvenSexGoddess

The second table wwe'd like to invite:
Laughing Ocelots
Emer
Zaer Darkwail
Ixy
Rhynarion
Hopefox.

The second table will get an OoC thread asap, but will have twee weeks for character creation, before we start.
ons and offs

They left their home of summer ease
Beneath the lowland's sheltering trees,
To seek, by ways unknown to all,
The promise of the waterfall.

Thank you! This is exciting! It'll also be good to have a bit more time to talk about ideas and sheets and things.
If you're such an iconoclast, where were you when we trashed Constantinople?
