THIS GAME HAS BEEN CANCELLED

Characters admitted into this game can also participate in my Pathfinder Universe IC chat, which is found here: https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=302636.0  -- If you have ever been admitted into one of my games before, you may re-use your character there.

    ~ SKULL & SHACKLES ~
    A Pathfinder Adventure

    IMPORTANT ADDENDUM:  Please notify me in PM if there are players whose exclusion from the game will result in your non-participation.  Here is a sample note:  "If _______ is not admitted into the game, I will respectfully withdraw."  Also, the reverse.  PM if there are players whose inclusion into the game will result in your non-participation.  No need to defame anyone, though.  Here is a sample note, "If _____ is admitted into the game, I will respectfully withdraw."  I really don't care why you feel the way that you feel, but I should probably know that you feel that way, capiche?

    Brief Synopsis:  You got shanghai'd, beeyotch.

    Status:  Currently seeking a party of 4-6 players.

    Notice:  This is the last and final Pathfinder adventure that I'll be running.  I am currently running the Shattered Star, the Dragon's Demand, the Crypt of the Everflame, and a small adventure called Into the Forest.  I will not be running any other games.  I am a bit confrontational, so if you're not posting in a timely manner, expect to find me all up in your PMs.

    Character Creation Rules:

    • 25-point buy
    • Max HP at first level/roll subsequent levels
    • 2 background skills
    • 3 traits (one must be a campaign trait; no drawbacks)
    • half starting gold;
    The GM prefers attractive characters over ugly ones and normal races over abnormal ones.  Please no small races.

    New Players:  New players are welcome.  I am happy to help new players create characters and learn the rules.

    GETTING STARTED:  The adventure begins as the PCs wake up in the hold of Captain Barnabas Harrigan’s Wormwood. The campaign traits from the Pathfinder Adventure Path Skull & Shackles Player’s Guide provide information about how each PC ended up on the Wormwood. It is not necessary for the PCs to know each other—they’ll have plenty of time to become acquainted during the coming weeks aboard the Wormwood. Whatever their reasons for being in Port Peril, each of the PCs spent the previous night drinking at the Formidably Maid, a notorious drinking establishment in Port Peril, where a press gang from the Wormwood marked them as targets.  After drugging the PCs into unconsciousness, the press gang dumped them in the ship’s hold to sleep it off, where the PCs soon get a rude awakening.

    Posting Style:  Check my other game threads to see how I run a game so you aren't surprised.  I expect players to post at least once a week.  You are not required to post lengthy posts -- just enough to reasonably convey what you want to do within a round.  Sometimes, I'm just going to want a list.  I cannot stress this enough: SHORT POSTS ARE ACCEPTABLE.

    Sex Stuff:  Acceptable between players, but I run my games pretty straight-laced.

    Character Submission:  Your character doesn't need a long background.  Your character's origin doesn't have to be interesting or intriguing.  Do not put a lot of effort into it.  If you and I have had a tiff before, whether actual or imaginary, please talk to me in PM before you start working on a character.

    Your character background can be as long as the blurb given in the campaign trait you choose.  If you must know, I admit players by asking myself the following questions:

    1.  Do I like this player?  If no, not admitting;
    2.  Do I like this player's character's picture?  If no, not admitting;
    3.  Do I like this player's character's sex appeal?  If no, not admitting;
    4.  Do I like this player's race?  If no, not admitting; and,
    5.  Do I like this player's character?  If no, not admitting.

    In that order!  I -almost- don't care about backgrounds.  You should know that I am not very likely to read a very long background.  I know, I know.  You have to read all of my shit and I won't read all of yours.  It's unfair.  Additionally, there is this whole thing about my choosing players based on my subjective likes and dislikes and stuff, and I get how some of you might find that unfair, but I pretty much don't care about that either.  So sorry, but not sorry.

    Character Sheet: Not necessary for admission.

    Variant Rules:  Initiative has been completely overhauled.  All enemies operate off of the same initiative.  The first round will consist of actions taken by allies who have a higher initiative than the enemies, then the enemies will act, and then all allies will be able to act in one huge initiative block.  Following rounds will simply consist of two initiative blocks: enemy actions and party actions.  Turn order is NOT respected.  Furthermore, you may perform free actions freely throughout, but those free actions may only be performed within six-seconds (since that's the length of the round).

    Leaving the Game:  Sometimes you gotta leave the game because life/work/depression/animosity-towards-the-GM.  That's fine.  However, please tell me, preferably in PM, that you're leaving so that I can find a replacement.  Since that can be a daunting challenge for some, I have taken the liberty of drafting up a sample note that you can send me in PM should you need to leave:  "Because of reasons, I gotta go, Phantom.  I will/will not be back (circle one).  Thanks and sorry."

    Ixy

    Tavhitta Kol, Level 1 Tiefling Bloodrager (Pitborn, Abyssal)
    ((work in progress))
    Not knowing the origin of her father, Tav was born and raised on boats and in barrooms throughout the Mwangi expanse by her transient mother, knowing indentured servitude and primal survival in equal measure.  She was taken by pirates more out of curiosity than in any true attempt to take a valuable crewman... she seemed positively dangerous despite being attractive enough for entertainment 'below-decks'.

    What about an aquatic gnome?  Call it a racial variant on Gnome like the aquatic elf is for Elves?

    I always auto-accept Ixy.  But this time, I also would have auto-accepted this character purely for how sexy she is.

    You can submit any character, but I don't particularly like small races, and I especially dislike gnomes.

    Alignment restrictions?

    None, but some alignments fare better than others.  Consult the player’s campaign guide.

    Also, the character should be cooperative.

    kind of a lot of odd restrictions for a pathfinder game based around pirates and being presganged.

    I will give this game until the end of the week (April 5th) to gain some traction.  If it fails, then I will have to set the adventure aside.  I can understand why there isn't much interest in it, as two crews already set off on this adventure within the last two weeks.

    Phantom Ahoy! Make ready for booty boarding action!

    Toka Agano
    Human Ranger (Freebooter)

    Originally hailing from the faraway land of Tian Xia, Toka ended up in the Shackles after many voyages, serving as a sailor on board all kinds of ships from merchant vessels to men-of-war (plus the occasional stint as an overland caravan guard, but that doesn't get talked about nearly as much). She must have been running away from something, seeing as how she sailed further and further away from Tian Xia over time, though she never told anyone why. Her last voyage ended in Port Peril, and she was staying there for a few days looking for passage and employment aboard southbound vessels, when something unexpected happened...
