So the first time I remember hearing Eddie Van Halen playing was not on a Van Halen song. Beat It was playing on MTV. The music video was incredible and so were Michael Jackson's vocals and dance moves. But I was instantly obsessed with the guitar riffs and that solo in the middle. Who was this guy shredding away. I had no idea in an age without the internet. It took me a while to find out and that started my lifelong fandom.
