I know I'm super late to the party. By any chance is their room for another student? Perhaps a shy side character who has less than a year to be ready, so Carlotta has her tend to her upperclassmen during the process to familiarize herself?

I think something could be worked out. I have to do a post soon, might be able to work something in. Andy - maybe we could go back to the bet idea with this character?  Or perhaps she's the daughter of a colleague who's fallen on hard times and Lord Lycan owes him a favor? Or a newly widowed wife of a friend who's trying to get her daughter in a good marriage to save them both from the block?
