Conquered hearts- F seeking M

I saw this picture in the Seekers thread and thought I would try my hand at writing a story around her:

My world is a work in progress, that is it can be anything we like it to be in terms of setting, as long as it is not modern or supernatural. It is a generic fantasy world. There is magic, but very few possess the ability to be powerful. There are Elves, Dwarves, Humans and in places there are Fae creatures. But they will only be there if we want them to be. This can be set on an island nation like Japan or Caribbean, or it can be inland with lots of lakes, mountains, and  rivers. It can be set on the edge of a desert, if we like. It is all open to discussion.

This will be a story of a conquering general, (YC) who is ordered to take a village and investigate the people in advance of the great army of the Conquering Emperor. I would like it to resemble something like the Roman Empire. He has an army, he rides a gallant horse he is fond of. He is a skilled warrior and a brilliant strategist.  I want someone who is willing to be philosophical, gentle at times and firm with his resolve and his goals. I expect the character to have the personality of a great leader of men and a fondness for women of not just beauty, but brains and humor.

The people he finds in the little village are peaceful and independent. They are actually not very political and would rather just be left alone to farm their fields, tend their livestock and live in peace, no matter who is in charge of the land where they live. Unfortunately for the peasants, the conquering army is a little too zealous and the lieutenant runs into resistance and kills several of the villagers. (This can be a secondary character either I or you can portray)

When the general arrives on the scene to inspect, he finds some of the soldiers holding down a very fiesty young woman who is screaming and fighting for her life. (MC, the one in the pic) It looks like the soldiers are about to rape her, and the general stops them with admonishments.  He does not condone rape. He takes the badly beaten girl into his own personal tent, where he has servants already. After having her cleaned up and her wounds tended, he decides to keep her with him as a servant/slave. She appears very young and innocent, and he will not force himself on her. I want to see a slow build up of the slave girl being indoctrinated into the service of the new Empire and the general and coming to like him and respect him.

I have so many ideas on how to plot this, but I want to make it something that is exciting and intriguing to both of us. Please take note of my O/O's and have one of your own I can look at. I expect a partner who will respond several times a week, though I can accept once a week if the writing is exceptional. No one liners or brief undetailed posts, please.

If you are a history buff who likes to fantasize what it was like to be a Roman General investigating a new area for his Emperor, please give this a shot. We do not need to reinvent Rome, I just like the idea of bringing civilization to a new land and the problems associated with it. I expect some violence, and some bloodshed, I expect multiple characters from you and I both to make the story interesting. Above all, I expect you to add to the plot and make it a genuine collaboration.
