『 ᴘ ʀ ᴇ ᴀ ᴍ ʙ ʟ ᴇ 』

Hey there, folks. Thanks for taking the time to check out my request thread. Name's Rylin, I'm a 20-year-old guy currently studying medicine, and I've been writing for around three years now, give or take. English ain't my first language but I'm adequate at it. I haven’t been around much thanks to moving to a new country and starting school, but I do have some time on my hands now. Thankfully.

Before we move on, please check my Ons and Offs thread to see if we'd mesh well as writers. To get the potential dealbreakers out of the way; I'm a story-oriented writer, first and foremost. All of my roleplays include smut and I love writing it (I am on Elliquiy after all) but I always look for a good, intriguing plot accentuated by ambience, aesthetics and of course, hot, steamy sex. I'm looking for a like-minded partner who shares the enthusiasm for worldbuilding, romance, interesting character dynamics and long-term stories. I write both male and female characters in any pairing, but for now, I'm sticking to MxF pairings to keep things simple.

Please don't post in here. If you're interested, PM me detailing your interests, and we'll work something out.

These are character concepts that have been bouncing around in my head that I don't have concrete plot ideas for. They're written with certain settings in mind (they're all fantasy for now) but they can be altered and tailored to ideas as needed.

MERMAIDS: I've been looking into mermaids in fairytales recently, with the Hans Christian Andersen one being the most prominent. You can characterise them in a myriad of ways, but I see mermaids as these beautiful, tragic, monstrous creatures. They possess beautiful voices that can enchant even the most hardened sailor, they have massive underwater kingdoms that would put the kingdoms of men to shame, they love, hate and feel just as humans do, but they're so alien that most merfolk that foolishly wander up to the land-dwellers often end up killed for their scales or taken captive as some trophy. So they keep to their deep waters, and for the most part, they remain as myths.

This would be a story between a mermaid and a human, obviously. Is the mermaid captured during a reckless outing by some callous pirate for her scales? Does she end up in the hands of a wealthy noble who wishes to display her as a prized possession? Or, scrapping the non-con abduction route, is she an adventurous, free-spirited girl who came up to the surface regularly to play with a boy from a nearby fishing hamlet as a child, and is now looking for him again, years later? It's said that mermaids only has one chance to experience true love; did she waste hers on a human, unknowingly? Does she nurse a shipwreck survivor back to health on an island and fall in love with him? Did Rylin just blatantly rip off the fairytale?

OUTCASTS AND DRIFTERS: Inspired by the witchers; more specifically, witchers from the school of the cat. Cat Witchers are outcasts and drifters by definition. They accept everyone: halfbreeds, lowlives and horribly mutated witchers even other schools won't take in. They have no set home base. They travel with a caravan from place to place, taking shelter at ruined keeps and other obscure locales to rest and perform mutations as needed. Even the witchers themselves tend to be reclusive and travel more than your average monster hunter, even through the cold, harsh winter.

I'm looking to play a character that fits the general idea of this, not a cat witcher specifically. Maybe a half-elf who's shunned by both of his races and is resigned to travelling where the wind blows, taking odd jobs for a warm meal and a bed. An orc who's too scrawny and tame to thrive in a savage, violent tribe, but has trouble assimilating into other cultures because of his towering physique and social stigma. Some sunbaked desperado looking to make a name for himself in the Wild West. A lonely bounty hunter piloting a janky ship lazily floating in space. You know the type. He has no home. But home isn't exactly a place; sometimes home is a person, and he finds her in the most unexpected circumstances.

Random ideas that don't warrant a plot of their own or don't have one at all. Same as the above section, but less focused on the characters and more on a specific idea/theme/world etc.

#100: A story that revolves around the number 100 (or any other arbitrary number we choose). A story that's told in exactly 100 posts, with 100 words or less for each post, about events that take place entirely within 100 hours. This is more a novelty concept that I want to try to test my writing skills (less is more and all that) and would probably require extensive OOC discussion since I'm not just looking for a quick hanky panky scene. I don't have a plot in mind, but it should be something that's self-contained and can be wrapped up in a relatively short timeframe. Some examples would be tourists meeting in a foreign country, rivals stuck together in a place for whatever reason, or a couple where one of them only has 100 hours to live. There will be some coding/formatting and bending of grammatical rules to make for interesting, short and snappy posts, so be warned.

PARIS IN THE RAIN: Inspired by the song by Lauv (great artist, btw). I often take inspiration from music when writing, but I don't really center plots around them, so this is a bit new to me. Basically, I'm trying to capture what the feeling of two young, carefree lovers kissing in the rain. The song to me feels romantic, hopeful and nostalgic, but it's not exactly upbeat. I feel like there's a sad undertone to it all; maybe they're parting to go on with their lives after this night, maybe their lives aren't as smooth sailing as they want to believe. Whatever it is, they don't focus on the problems. They focus on the here and now, choosing the beauty of the moment over everything else.

THE THINGS WE DO FOR LOVE

Honour and Loyalty are virtues that many men boast proudly, and as the youngest son of a destitute noble family with only his sword to rely on, honour and loyalty meant everything to him. Touted as a bright youth with a talented sword arm, he was given the honour of being knighted and assigned as the personal bodyguard to his liege lord's daughter. As he knelt before the graceful lady, he pledged his sword and his life to her, and unknowingly, his heart. The love was unrequited, of course, he never acted on or even spoke off his feelings, knowing that it was above his place to do so, and it would sully her honour and break his oath to his liege if he were to even touch her. But when she is betrothed to another lord in a political alliance, he suddenly finds himself questioning the very values he stood by all his life. Love justifies madness in any form, and time is running out.

themes: romance, angst, unrequited love;   setting: medieval fantasy/historical;   pairing: MxF

THROUGH HEAVEN AND EARTH

Children born under the solar eclipse are prophesied to become great heroes, and an angel is born in the heavens to be their guide and companion when they come of age. Most of these holy partnerships pan out well. There are many legends and stories of heroes and their angels triumphing in the face of evil or falling together tragically, and in some rare cases, they even become involved romantically. He is one such Child of the Prophesy and grew up on a pedestal, even more privileged and pampered than your average prophesied hero, as he was also a princeling. Meeting his angelic guide is something he has been looking forward to all his life and on his eighteenth birthday, a grand, ritualistic ceremony is held to summon the angel down to earth, revealing his holy partner to be quite the beautiful woman. Just his luck then, that she turns out to be utterly insufferable.

themes: romance, rivalry, destiny;   setting: high fantasy;   pairing: MxF

THE LION AND THE SNAKE

He's the typical Slytherin - pureblooded, privileged, egocentric, overachieving, probably going to pursue a career in politics and become Minister for Magic before he hits his fifties. She's the typical Gryffindor - muggleborn, proud and unapologetic, hot-headed, star Chaser of the Lions Quidditch team and a Queen Bee, for lack of a better term. They're not really supposed to interact much at all, and when they do, it's simply snarky comments and thinly-veiled insults. So of course, the moment they are forced to spend any meaningful amount of time together, tensions spark, feelings arise and walls come crumbling down. He's not as shallow as he seems, and he doesn't have ice in his veins. She's not the mask of perfection she presents to everyone, and is only human underneath all the glamour. They're not supposed to work, but somehow they make it happen. Yet, how does she deal with the blatant discrimination from his family, even if he doesn't share any of their views? How does he navigate through the social stigma of dating someone 'below' his station? What happens when he's suddenly engaged to some other pureblood girl?

Note: Keep in mind the characters will be fairly young; around 16-18. We can age them up appropriately for a college setting, but I'm more interested in the teenage romance aspect of the whole thing.

themes: romance, rivalry, drama, angst, differences;   fandom: Harry Potter;   pairing: MxF

PATH TO DOL BLATHANNA

After the Thanedd Coup, Francesca Findabair is crowned the Queen of Dol Blathanna, courtesy of Emperor Emhyr var Emreis. After the long awaited return to the homeland, Francesca is eager to rebuild and give her people a life that isn't steeped in hardship. But, as per the agreement with Nilfgaard, she has to denounce the Scoia'tael and cut off all contact with them, leaving the rebels to be slowly wiped out by the Northern Kingdoms. Her old friend, Filavandrel, King of the free elves, is less than pleased that Francesca has left her own people to die for her interests, and arrives in Dol Blathanna to confront her. Tensions are high, and the animosity is palpable, but the two old comrades do not truly think they are enemies - they are one and the same, after all. They both want a brighter future for the Aen Seidhe, but the path is hard and perilous when their people are divided.

Note: Knowledge of the series is appreciated, but not required. This will be set in the Witcher universe, but I intend to take many liberties with both the setting and the canon events.

themes: romance, political intrigue, (?)old lovers;   fandom: The Witcher;   pairing: MxF

GRIM CIRCUMSTANCES

He's always taken his job as a detective seriously; New York's finest, after all. Boasting impressive numbers and well known in the precinct as the quiet, reliable workaholic, he's the man the higher-ups call on if they want a case closed without much hassle. Most of the time, he delivers, but one homicide in particular has our hero scratching his head. The circumstances surrounding the murder are murky, the murder weapon is nowhere to be found, there is no prime suspect, and to top it all off, the wife of the murdered man happens to be his high school sweetheart. Still, he pushes on, trying to piece together what little he could and trying to keep old feelings under check as he works with the young widow. Things unravel as time goes on, and he begins to suspect that bigger powers may be involved, powers much higher than his paygrade, and that the woman he once loved might not be as innocent as he wants to believe.

themes: romance, tragedy, second chances;   setting: contemporary;   pairing: MxF

Taken or unused plots that I'm not as keen on writing anymore. They're here for the sake of preservation and if I ever want to reuse them, but I probably won't be too interested in them at the moment.

I inquired about this item at the beginning of the month and received a prompt response in return, which is always greatly appreciated. Overall, item is as described in the description, with a few surprises and a lot of laughs. Occasionally throws in a nuke that requires some mental processing (e.g. meat tenderizer), but hey, if you can roll with the punches, go for it. Overall, I highly recommend the above item.

Looking for even more Harry Potter stuff. Not really interested in any of the listed plots at the moment, though.

Check out the totally unsolicited review above if you got doubts.

Rylin

Looking for something historical or fantasy, and possibly Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Super late to the fandom, I know. Forgive me.
