I'm curious if anyone would want to do a roleplay involving canon and original characters in the Rise of the Guardians verse.

This will be set maybe a decade after the events of the movie, and may well explore:

- Fading belief (from the Burgess kids, who might have already lost their belief or be in the process of losing it, or maybe still hold onto their belief but it gets harder in their adulthood).
- Fear, in a more nuanced way, hopefully.
- Memories...
- Enemies-to-(possibly)-friends.
- Conflict. Between all spirits, but mostly Pitch and the Guardians.
- Discrimination -- you'll know if you read the World Building Thread.
- Redemption (maybe)
- And the other, non-spirit threats that threaten what the Guardians watch over moreso than Pitch.

Basically, the premise is, that:

Some two-to-three decades ago, there was a person who believed in Jack, well before Jamie and the Burgess kids. Except, for reasons unknown to Jack, he forgot about her. But she didn't forget about him, and, in fact, went onto have a child - Jack's child specifically.

A daughter, who is now an adult, and half-spirit, allowing her to see spirits without so much as believing in them. (She might also start developing ice-powers.) Her mother tried to hide her relationship to Jack Frost from her in an attempt to protect her from heartbreak if he were to ignore her like the mother had thought he'd ignored her (not realising his memories had been blocked/manipulated).

Those blue eyes and pearly smile is giving her away more and more though, and with her still being able to see spirits when most people don't she's seen as an anomaly. She's drawing attention to her, from all sides.

And with everyone slowly starting to realise who she is, the different groups of spirits are racing to get her onto their side first. By whatever means necessary.

Meanwhile, belief in the Guardians has taken a dip once more, and some losses have hurt more than others. Darkness is rising, and spirits who have long since remained invisible and largely unknown to humanity are growing tired of the state of things, some of them willing to go to greater extremes than others to grow their power and belief.

Roles:
The Guardians - Available, but I might play Sandman, and/or whomever else needs playing if there's no one willing to take the others.
Pitch Black (Taken)
Jack's Daughter - Available. (20-30 y/o.)
You could also play the role of the grown up version of the burgess kids, or possibly OCs (spirits and humans).
I'd also be playing some OC spirits (both threatening and neutral ones).
I might also play MiM...
Minions/helpers - including mini-fairies, nightmares, etc.

---

There would be a few major plots in this (the one revolving around the discovery of the half-spirit, the conflict between the Guardians, Pitch - and now other spirits - and possibly the loss of belief and moving on from relationships), yes, but you can also add other things into the mix.

Also, by "whatever means necessary", I mean whatever means necessary, so there could be dark and sexual/sensual themes in this. Violence and cussing are also to be expected. I plan on playing some nasty-ass spirits on the side (that aren't Pitch), and feel free to introduce villains of your own.

A few NOPES that will be left out of this roleplay though, include: vore, scat, watersports, vomit, incest and romanticisation of abuse. Dub-con is allowed though, but non-con needs to be framed as non-consensually as possible.

Minors are only available in a limited NPC-esque capacity and anything sexual relating to them would have to be written as abuse, ideally without being descriptive. All major characters must be 18+.

When designing characters, please be distinct - which, for spirits, includes their centre, if you are going to specify it.

There will be some centres that are taken, so before jumping into character creation, make a point of seeing which centres are taken and which aren't.

I would prefer to have a group of six players for this (including myself), ten max, if we happen to have a lot of interest.

By the way, if you want to join, but need a refresher of the movie, I'm willing to wait for you to do what you need to do to re-familiarise yourself with this. You also don't have to play any of the CCs. I could probably take a stab at playing all of them... with most of them as more minor characters if we have no takers for the CCs. Also, a writing sample for the CCs might be useful, and - because headcanons are a thing (which I, to an extent encourage so long as we're comfortable with your HCs and I have my own based on other, rotg-related, material) - a CS would also be expected for them.

I'm still debating whether I should allow canon characters from other universes to be adapted into this. If people want that to happen, I might allow it (there are probably some RotBTD fans out there), but as an insurance policy against ships that I'm uncomfortable with, I might then also play Jack Frost. Also, any canon from another universe that I do allow should be 18+... and I'll need a sample and a CS sheet for them too. I'd also have to know them.

This post is just to check for interest -- I'll hopefully have a more neater Sign-Up/Audition Thread ready sometime after I get enough interest.

Also, I'm already working on the World-Building Thread. It's subject to change and to additions... but feel free to take a peak if you want to know what you're getting into, since a lot of this will include personal headcanons. (You can also suggest your own, once I get an OOC Thread up.)

Colour me interested.

I’m thinking a fire spirit, specifically a hearth fire, with the centre of hospitality. He protects visitors and hosts, believes in happy families and is an absolute enemy of pestilence. Pestilence is unwelcome in any place he is protecting, although he would be more than willing to host Pestilence and provide a sumptuous meal, should Pestilence be willing to behave.
There are nights when the wolves are silent and it the moon that howls.

I guess we'll have to see how Pestilence is handled then. ^ ^

A hearth fire spirit does sound interesting, though!

I'll be posting the CS format in the proper sign-up once we have enough interest.

Sounds good.

It’s an interesting premise. Should attract considerable attention.
