Elliquiy and VPNs

Just a general inquiry to see if any E users access this site through a VPN and if they've had any problems with it.

I'm asking because of the UK's upcoming Online Safety Bill. To cut a very long and tedious abstraction short, the bill is basically a steaming pile of ill conceived, censorious wank. However, once it passes, it may mean there's a remote chance of E being blocked by UK ISPs. This, of course, would be quite unacceptable and I can only hope that a VPN will allow me to enjoy my rude Star Wars and superhero stories unhindered.

I know that there are many people who have used VPNs once they've gotten through the approval process, so you should be fine.

I always use a VPN myself, except when on an Ipad.

I occasionally nuke ip blocks and sometimes this clobbers some vpns. But it should state explicitly your block has been used for spam.

Right...given my lack of tech savvy, I'm not entirely sure what 'nuking an ip block' means, but the consensus seems to be that using a VPN is largely a trouble free experience.

Without going into anything confidential - there are publicly accessible 'blacklists' that identify IP addresses used by bot-networks - the ones that show up on forums and make 16 posts in Russian about crypto or other nonsense.  Odds are that your VPN isn't going to roll one of those when it randomly selects a node, but if it does, a 're-roll' will likely sort it out.
