I'm looking for someone to write this specific story with me, but I'm open to proposals in the general neighborhood. Please be aware I'll be picky here - if interested, show me you're willing to put some effort in! I do enjoy casual stories sometimes, but this is not one. Please also check my O/Os

QuoteWe all know many stories of a young prince and princess, set to marry for peace or profit or political advantage, and how they find or fail to find love – but what of the stories years after? What if a mature King marries again after being widowed, and his mind, through good advice, falls on a widow who herself is no longer entirely young? This is such a story.

Decades ago, the former King of Myresh, already called Ortran the Good, took the lands of the Margrave of Talland after the latter had led a rebellion, in which he died. The lands were distributed, but that could only ever concern those actually in Myresh; the family had always held some south of the Venem mountains, in Ariac.

Now, the ‘Morning Crown’ wants a foothold in chaotic Ariac; child of Ortran and the equally revered Queen Asherah, the current King lost his Queen to childbirth, the eternal foe of women. Thus, he can marry the heiress to the Ariaci branch of the House of Talland and extend his reach.

She, in turn, was married to an Ariaci lord; now that she is alone, the dogs are baying to rip her lands apart, and she needs the help of a husband to preserve her family lands. Who would dare to touch the inheritance of the Morning Queen?

This is set in an established, no-/ very low Fantasy universe in an equivalent to the latter High Medieval period. If you’re open to being introduced into it, I would love to! There isn't too much established material to get through, no worries. If you’re not, we can find a different plot with the same core themes. I will leave it to you if the King’s second bride has any children, as well as the other specifics of what went on in Ariac.

You can also shape the Ariaci culture, little is established about it except that they’re stricter (to some degree) in sexual mores than the Myrshen (who are far from libertines). The minimum age for the female lead would be 25, but could be as high as mid 30s at your discretion. The King will be in his mid-thirties.

As with most of my prompts, if you’re exclusively interested in the romantic/interpersonal aspect of this, I’m afraid it’s not for you. I want to get into politics just as much – which, in a world like this, are obviously very personal. There are additional themes we can work with, which we can discuss later. We'll have to talk a fair bit, so Discord contact would be ideal.

Taken. Still open for something in a similar vein.
