The Gentle Vampiress
A Modern Gothic Horror Story

The clock chimed midnight, stirring the woman who looked no older than her mid-twenties from her slumber. She rose from the bed and stretched, feeling like death warmed over. Granted, she had indeed been undead for well over three centuries at this point, and slid from the bed to walk through the moderate manor towards the restroom, freshening up. She'd slept for nearly a day, and now that the night was once more upon them, she felt the ever present hunger in her gut. The one she fought so hard to control. With a soft yawn of fatigue, she brushed her fangs, made sure her makeup was suitable, and donned her attire. After all, she had to be in the court of her Progenitor in the morning, and he would be most displeased if even a single hair were out of place on her head.

The ride through the streets of London were uneventful, with her personal chauffeur Geoffrey driving while she rode in the back of the Mercedes car. Geoffrey officially served the house of Lord Ravencroft, but was one of three personal servants gifted to her by her Lord to tend to her. She felt bad that they were required to, but she none the less felt comforted by Geoffrey driving the rain-slick streets. As always, he stopped the car and one of Lord Ravencroft's servants opened the door, holding an umbrella to keep her dry. With a nod of her head in thanks, she walked inside while Geoffrey drove the car around.

Entering the Court of Lord Ravencroft, she could already hear the shouting. She mentally braced herself, straightening the front of her dress in nervous anticipation as she stepped through the double doors and entered the chamber. Lord Ravencroft sat upon his chair at one end, while two lesser generation vampires argued and shouted. They were young, no doubt turned in the past half century, and they fell silent as she walked past them, paying no notice. She approached and curtsied to Lord Ravencroft, keeping her eyes low.

"I am here by your summoning, My Lord," she announced, keeping her eyes low, before a soft chuckle caused her to look up.

Lord Ravencroft stood and held out his hand, "Come to me, my child."

She obeyed, standing and approaching. He pulled her close and kissed her on the forehead like a father greeting his daughter. "It is always a pleasure when my little white rose returns to my court," He said, a smile full of warmth on his face, as he gestured to the smaller chair beside his. With another curtsy, she took her seat at his side, and the arguments began again. It would be a very, very long night.

Hello there, I'm Gloom Cookie. I've decided I would seek out someone to tell a story with, one of the undead vampiress who tries to navigate the dangerous and cut throat world of vampire politics while also trying to stay true to a promise she made centuries ago to avoid harming humans. Her feeding on animal blood has left her weakened, and some see it as a chance to claim the untapped power were it not for her master, who keeps her as a bright flower amid his dark court. But times change, and so too does her master's court. Will she be able to remain neutral forever? Or will she be forced to finally break her promise, consume human blood again for the first time in centuries, and unleash the darkness within to the horror of all in her path?

What I'd like is for a co-writer or GM who wants to help me craft this story. It would revolve around Mina, who was turned in 1669 and drank the blood of a human her first night out of a desperate need to consume, but was so horrified by what she'd done she swore on the dead body she'd consumed she would never again drink human blood. Her master, Lord Ravencroft, finds her innocence amusing. His reasons for turning her are... vague, and even after centuries she's never gotten a firm answer, but between her lack of interest in vampire politics and her relative weakness and thus no threat to his power, he has permitted her to remain at his side, serving as a voice of reason and calm.

So. Shall we tell the story of Mina, the Gentle Vampiress together?
