Game Setting



Naruto ¤ Chunin Exams is a sandbox freeform game with minimal GM involvement. Players are expected to create their own stories within the framework provided.

The game will have Ninjas roaming around Konoha. The GM Events will be the Chunin Exams and its various stages (same as in Naruto for familiarity), culminating in the 1v1 tournament.

Being involved in the exams is entirely optional. Your character can just watch the exams or be a tourist roaming around town, if you'd rather write that.

Simple dice rolls will be used in case participants can't agree on a pre-determined winner for fights or events.

Premise

Based in Konoha, the story is set one year after the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox's Attack. After the death of Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage, the Third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi returns to power.

Neither the Hyuga Affair nor the Uchiha Downfall happened. Beside the Third Hokage, all the main character of Naruto are either babies, teenagers or travelling wherever. In other words, the Third Hokage is the only canon character in our story.

Characters

Please use art or anime/manga characters for face claims. Use wiki articles or the Anime Character Database to provide proof the art represents an adult. If you can't provide proof, just use common sense and state that you cannot provide proof as it does not exist.

A few rules:

• ALL characters must be over 18 years of age
• MOST characters taking the Chunin Exams will be in the 18-28 age range
• For continuity, use a Japanese first name (most common Japanese names)
• NO canon characters
• NO jinchurikis
• Use Clans that exist in the Naruto universe (list of existing clans)
• FORBIDDEN Clans: Kaguya and Ōtsutsuki
• Besides generic ninja hand-to-hand combat and blades, your character will only be allowed up to 3 Jutsus (powers) associated with their parents' clan(s) so pick well; if there is no jutsu associated, you can pick random ones that are not strictly associated with specific clans
• That being said, NO mixing parents from powerful clans such as Uchiha and Hyuga because that IS overpowered
• NO character will be more powerful than the main instructors

NPCs

The Third Hokage and the Chunin Exam instructors will be GM-controlled NPCs. The following NPCs will be Team Leaders who anyone may use in their stories provided they follow the personality associated and the logic of the world.
