Oh, I love Flash Gordon. It makes no pretense at being anything more than it is. Also, all of the music was done by Queen, so that makes it even more amazing. Once when I was at University, I watched it twice in a row in back to back sittings with my girlfriend, because my roommate and a couple of friends came in as the credits were rolling and were disappointed we'd watched it without them (because I'd been talking it up) so we watched it again.

Incidentally, I'm house sitting again starting today, so it'll be Galaxy Quest in just a few hours.

Yes!
Quite frankly, the music alone sells the movie, but you're right. It is unashamedly a popcorn movie, it is cheesy and funny and over the top, and I will never be tired of watching it, especially with all the one-liners.

Galaxy Quest is really good too. Such a love letter to all things Star Trek. It's just a fun film, that celebrates the good side of Star Trek and its fans.

I've always felt the Justin Long role so much. That's a Star Trek nerd's dream. The crew is in trouble and they need your help. Now your encyclopedic knowledge of all things Star Trek will save them!

Laurel and Hardy's Blockheads and Duck Soup are two that I have been obsessed with for years. I never get tired of them. They still hold up almost a century later.

in a daydream

I can watch National Treasure (1 & 2) over and over again and never get bored, and the same goes for The Mummy (1999). And I think I might have to add The Holiday to that list, as I watch it once every year.

The "Spiderman Into/Across/Beyond the Spiderverse" movies are peak fiction, where one notices something new every rewatch.

I've watched "The Shining" and "Misery" an insane amount of times.

"The Truman Show", "The Invisible Man", "Your Name", "Hamilton", and "It's A Wonderful Life" are all dear to my heart.

The Labyrinth is my all time favorite movie! I have a ridiculous amount of collectibles and merchandise!

Apologies to all my partners! Had a family emergency had had to leave town for a bit! Back now and working to catch up!

imalux

Any Godzilla / monsterverse movie.

I don't know what it is, but man do I love a good kaiju fight sequence.
not accepting new stories.

I have a few fun movies on rotation for falling asleep too, comfort movies, even if their contents isn't all that comforting.

Mandy, with Nic Cage. Fun and weird, and the most reasonable crash out.
Hardcore Henry, shlocky and fun.
Green Room, gritty horror, and Nazis getting what's coming to them. A little gorey.
Dinner in America, I know recently on socials it's gotten a bit of a cult following; I first watched it with my boyfriend and absolutely loved it and the characters. ❤️

The animated Spiderman films are fantastic. Besides the story being great, I love love love the stylistic choice for the animation. Fantastic picks!

Also whole heartedly agree with and love your name. 😂🥱

Shawshank Redemption - The film is pretty heavy and intense, but I cannot stop myself watching it, when I stumble on it.
Like, no matter at what part I see it on tv, I will usually drop what I'm doing and sit down to watch the rest of it.

Saving Private Ryan

-and I have this odd fascination with The Simpsons; literally, some of the episodes I have watched tens of times

Xyza

🌸Lord of the Rings - It's my childhood and watching it through the years gives me a different perspective.
🌸John Wick - Keanu Reeves is my favorite actor and my ideal man. I'm just fangirling.
🌸Rurouni Kenshin: Trust and Betrayal - The movie just deeply moved me and Samurai X is one of my favorite anime.

I'm back (May 2025)

Sierra

Violent Night. While I have the movie on dvd, I can't help but catching it on TV. It's now become one of my favorite Christmas or not movies.

War of the Worlds, 2005, is up there. I don't know, every time there's the lightning storm with the extraterrestrials get in their ships, I get goosebumps. It comes on cable a lot so I'll catch it when I'm able to.

Witch Leda

My list is full of oldies.

Lord of the Rings - my perfect escape

Friends - when I want to laugh

The Apartment - for so many personal reasons

Any movie based on Agatha Christie's novels

There are so many more, old and new, but I have to stop somewhere.
