The Curiousity Corner

Hey there I am Skyre and I have been telling stories, writing and roleplaying for as long as I can remember. Thank you for taking the time to look at my little thread. I've tried to keep everything short and sweet. If you have questions, then please do ask away. 

What can I offer you and what am I looking for?
Broadly speaking what I'm looking for is also what I hope I can offer you. I like to really collaborate with my partners. I like to build characters, plots and worlds with them. I like to chat on the side a bit as we write and I've made a few friends here over the years, which is always nice. I hope that my writing is detailed, well written and clear and that my characters are interesting and varied. These are the things that I also look for in a partner. Please do feel free to look at my existing posts if you want to get a feel for my writing.

What do I like/not like?
My preferences can be found here and are a good general guide to my interests, but should not be considered absolutely accurate. I'm human and my interests and whims change over time: https://elliquiy.com/forums/onsoffs.php?u=39648 
I do generally prefer my writing partner to be the same gender as their character, but I am starting to explore characters of different genders. If you're not sure about something, please feel free to ask me. 

General themes
These are a few general themes that always without fail appeal to me. Individual story ideas may feature some others, but most will include one or more of these.

Contrasts.  I love contrasts. Different ages, races, species, cultures, backgrounds. There's always something enjoyable to be found in a contrast. 

Attraction.  So many different things can draw characters together. I love to explore what it is that they find irresistible about each other. It's different with every single pairing. 

Change.  Nothing stays the same for long. I love watching as characters grow and respond to the world and the story unfolding around them. They should be very different at the end from the beginning.

Story ideas.
I've listed all the ideas that I currently have below. I've given a short summary of anything in particular that I'm looking for and if that peeks your interest, then there's a rough plot idea hidden away. If anything grabs your attention please send me a PM. I'd love to talk about it with you.

Historical.
These story ideas are set in our world, but outside of living memory.

Blood and sand - an unlikely friendship across the boundaries of class, set in ancient Rome.
What I'm looking for: A contrasting relationship between a socially powerful woman and her slave gladiator.

Blood and sand
Plot:A Roman Domina acquires a gladiator as a slave. Does she send him to fight in the arena for her glory? Does she use him for her pleasure and cast him aside? Or do they see something in each other that no one else has? Does loneliness and longing draw them together? Is her beauty a match for his strength and skill with a sword? Only one thing is certain; blood will be spilled on the sand of the arena floor before their tale is done.

A wall between them - The greatest wall of its time stands between them, but does it divide them?
What I'm looking for: an soldier of Rome and a pict from beyond the wall are thrown together by the threat of a war.

A wall between them I'm interested in setting a story at Hadian's wall at a time of tension between the Celts beyond the wall and a roman army officer who is seeking to avoid bloodshed. In an act of desperation he has a Celtic warrior who is know to speak both the the local tongue and latin captured and brought to him. Can he make her see sense? Can he convince her to help him stop the looming threat of war that will see so many Romans and Celt die unnecessarily? What will happen to the love hate relationship that they have as time goes on?

Ebony and Ivory - an interracial Western story.
What I'm looking for: A rancher unexpectedly inherits a property from a distant relative. When he arrives he finds it to be a farm that makes use of slaves.

Plot: A rancher with all the prejudices of his time encounters a female slave who makes him question everything that he knows, including his own feelings and desires. A slave encounters a white man and comes to realize that not all of them are bad and out for what they can get. Will they be able to keep their feelings and desires hidden? How will their communities react when they find out about their relationship? What future can they ever hope to have together?

A shadow in the desert - his old life has been burned away by the heat of the sand.
What I'm looking for: A contrast between a knight and the woman who saves him from the desert

Plot: I'm interested in exploring a relationship and possible romance between a Crusader of one of the knightly orders who becomes lost in the desert, and a local Arab or Bedouin woman who finds him and saves his life. His old world is gone never to be returned to. How will he adapt to his new world as a servant or slave? Will his faith and belief endure? What about his vows of honour and chastity?

He has such beautiful eyes - a romance between a soldier and a nurse.
What I'm looking for: An injured soldier is brought in to recover from his injuries. Maybe he's from a different country. Maybe he's the enemy.

Plot: I'm interested in seeing how a relationship and romance might develop between two character when the appearance of one character is ambiguous. So the plot would involve contrasting a soldier whose injured face is heavily bandaged with the nurse responsible for his care and seeing what happens. The soldier could be of the same nationality as her, he could be from a country allied with hers, he could even be an enemy soldier.  I think the English or American Civil War, or World War 2 could be great settings for this particular story, but I'm open to discussion on this.

Modern.
These stories are set in within living memory in the real world which we all inhabit.

Crossing the front line - A romance story set during the Korean or Vietnam War.
What I'm looking for: A romance between a US soldier and a Vietnamese citizen set during the war.

Crossing the front line.
Plot: I'm interested in a story of a romance between a US serviceman or woman and a Vietnamese or Korean citizen, soldier or guerilla fighter. How does it start? How does it develop? How does it survive the prejudices of both sides? How does it survive the end of the war? I think this could be a fascinating story to play out.

You don't need eyes to see it. - A modern romance with a twist
What I'm looking for: A more experimental story, as one character will be completely blind.

Plot: What happens when a beautiful woman meets a charming man who also happens to be completely blind? He will never see her face, but can he recognize her inner and outer beauty? Can he stir her soul, peek her interest and can she give him a reason to risk something he has never done before? Fall in love.

The Rookie. - "C'mon Rookie. Time to hit the streets."
What I'm looking for: A grizzled homicide cop is trying to solve a series of murders. A rookie partner is not what he needs. Especially not a damned woman!

Plot: Set in the sixties or seventies an experienced homicide detective in a rustbelt town is trying to solve a series of redball murders. The last thing he needs is a new partner. Just to make it worse she is a woman, one of those university graduates the Commissioner keeps going about. She won't last five minutes, only she does and some of prejudices just don't last when exposed to her. As mentioned earlier I see this as set in the sixties or seventies with all the associated stereotypes and discrimination of the time period.

The End of Summer - A brief fling is given a chance to become something more.
What I'm looking for: The perfect holiday romance. Then you bump into him when you get back home. What happens next?

Plot: I'm interested seeing how a wonderful holiday and a brief holiday romance play out. I'm then curious as to what would happen when the holiday lovers encounter each other again. Would things be the same? Would they want to continue their romance? How would it change?

Step right in - A tumultuous and possibly forbidden relationship
What I'm looking for: A love/hate relationship involving a strong age contrast and a forbidden element it.

Plot: A man returns to his home to find his wife has run off with his best friend and abandoned her seventeen or eighteen year old step daughter. His relationship with the daughter has never been great and she has always been a troublesome teenager. How will it change now her mother has gone? Will she finally calm down and start to behave and show him some respect? Will she try to take advantage of the situation and his emotional turmoil? What will he see when he looks at her? A young woman becoming independent and starting to find her own way in the world or the face and body of her mother?

Chain Gang. – Runnin’ with the Chain Gang
What I'm looking for: A prisoner and a civilian are forced to run for their lives whilst still chained together.

Plot: Chain Gang. A convicted criminal ends up chained to a civilian. The key is lost so they’re stuck together. The cops and the robbers are both after them and both seem inclined to shoot first and ask questions later. How will they get out of this mess? How will they get the cuffs off? Is the prisoner really as bad their reputation suggests?

Fantasy
These stories are set in a fantasy setting. Human. Elves. Orcs. That sort of thing.

A tail to tell - a mermaid story
What I'm looking for: A contrast of a human and a mermaid trying to learn to understand each other and the attraction which draws them together across the divide between them.

Plot: A man walking the beach the morning after a storm the likes of which he has never seen, discovers a mermaid lying unconscious at the high water mark. Will she survive? Will he return her to the sea? Will she want to return? How can she ever take him to meet her father? How will her father react? How will his mother react?
Or perhaps a ship wrecked and injured mariner is drawn into the world of a mermaid. How will he survive? How will she treat him? Will she help him? Scorn him? Take advantage of his imprisonment in her realm?

The Chosen One - "That's the Chosen one? The Saviour of Humanity? You've got to be kidding me...."
What I'm looking for: An emissary discovers the Chosen One, the subject of a prophecy. There's just one snag: the Chosen One is not mystically prepared for their new role at all and someone is going to have to teach them and fast...

The Chosen One
Plot: The stars have aligned and the time of prophecy is at hand. The golden age of the Chosen One will begin and all will rejoice and celebrate. Except... no one can find the Chosen One and when they are found, they're not the person the priests were expecting at all. The prophecy cannot possibly be wrong. People are wrong, the words of God are not. So the Chosen One will have to be trained, educated, prepared before they can be anointed and ascend the Throne of Gold and Stars and quickly before word gets out.

I'm looking to explore not only how someone completely normal handles such a change to their world, but also how those who have been hunting for them adapt to finding out that the person they expected, is not what they expected.

Honour Guard- a human and elven fantasy story
What I'm looking for: A grizzled human warrior is entrusted with the safe escorts of an Elven maiden through lands under attack by marauding Orcs and beast men. She must reach safety at any costs. Amidst the chaos of war can these two very different people become friends or even more than friends?

Plot: An Orc invasion has already overrun many human lands. A High Council of the free races has been called. A female elf of great renown must attend, but in order to reach the meeting she must pass through lands that have already been overwhelmed by the triumphant Orcs. Passing through with an army would be impossible and foolhardy, but a lone Ranger following the hidden ways known only to his order offers a real chance of success. Can she learn to trust him? Can he overcome his dislike of haughty superior elves? Will they make it safely through the Orc infested lands?

Love is blind. - Even a monster deserves love.
What I'm looking for: Everyone knows a gorgon will turn you to stop once you return her gaze, but what could happen if she met a man who cannot meet her gaze?

Plot: A gorgon is a beautiful woman cursed by vengeful goddess to become a loathsome monster, with a gaze that turns all unfortunate enough to meet it to solid stone. I'm interested to see what would happen when such an unfortunate and lonely creature encounters a man who meets her gaze and is completely unaffected by her curse, because he is blind. Will she remember her humanity? Will she keep him prisoner? Will she harm him? How will he feel about the mysterious woman with the strange voice he encounters deep in the forest?

A Midsummer night. - Surely it was a dream...
What I'm looking for: A young man encounters a girl unlike any other he has ever met before during a wild midsummer night party. There's only one slight snag to their mutual attraction. She isn't just a girl...

Plot: A lonely man meets a strange, wild eyed girl at a party in the woods. She seems just as taken with him as he is with her. Imagine his surprise in the morning to wake up and find himself lying in a cave on a goat skin bed beside a satyress or snugly bound in the ivy tresses of a wood nymph. How on earth do you come to terms with such a revelation? How does she feel about being smitten by a mere mortal? Can they ever have a future together?

Heart of the darkness - A beast lurks within...
What I'm looking for: In the depths of the wood lurks a terrible creature. Only the blood will appease it. Only the blood of a virgin will sate it. Accept your fate.

Plot:A virgin is dragged deep into the depths of the forest and left as a sacrifice to a terrible beast and it is terrible. No arrow or spear can pierce its hide. No hammer or mace can crush its flesh or bone and its claws and teeth tear through iron and bronze like they are mere cloth. She expects a violent, but mercifully quick death as the creature bounds towards her and pounces, but death is not her fate. Is it truly a monster, or merely misunderstood? To be clear the monster is going to be monstrous and inhuman, which means in may have different perspectives on many things humans take for granted, but it will not be deliberately malicious or cruel.

Force of Nature. – If you go down to the wood today…
What I'm looking for: I want to base a story around the relationship between a young woman and a strange man who lives in the forest and is eventually revealed to be a Werebear.

Plot: Force of Nature. A young woman lost in the depths of the woods encounters a huge bear, but rather than attacking her it leads her to a house. A house belonging to a huge, softly spoken man. He is rather coarse and gruff and seems to ignore most social niceties, but he is also genuinely kind and gentle, which she is not used to. He takes her home and agrees to meet her again in the wood. How will she react when she discovers he is also the huge bear?

The Outsider - a post apocalyptic Wasteland story
What I'm looking for: An older, more experienced drifter encounters a younger survivor in a wasteland after the world falls...

The Outsider
Plot: The world came crashing down. A few were prepared, but the majority died in the war and the collapse of society that followed. The world burned leaving the skies empty and cloudless, the land dry and parched. The soil turned to dust and blew away, almost all life was scoured away by radiation, chemical weapons, disease and exposure. A few were prepared, a few survived in the remote corners and still others had been enrolled in secret government civil defence shelters. Decades passed and gradually life and humanity returned to cling to and scavenge from the remains of the collapsed old world. Most people survive in small settlements, but there are some wanderers who roam between settlements. Some carry messages, some maintain fragments of the old ways, customs and laws and some have their own reasons for their travels. When one such wanderer comes banging on the gates of your settlement with a bullet in his side will you help him?
Will you seek his help to explore the world beyond that you have never seen? Will you come to understand the mysteries that surround him? (The universes of Mad Max, Fallout and Metro 2033 are all sources of inspiration here and can be blended to make something unique and new.)

Ashes to Ashes - a post apocalyptic story with a twist
What I'm looking for: An unlikely pairing between two people thrown together as civilisation collapses without warning.

Plot: She's never really looked at him twice. Sure she's seem him on the stairs and they've swapped a few words. Yes she knows he rents the ground floor flat and the basement below it, but she's never even bothered to remember his name.  She was just passing him in the door when the sirens started to wail. Next thing she knows he's dragged her down into the basement and slammed a large, heavy and clearly airtight door. The walls are shaking, the floor trembling beneath their feet until it all goes quiet at last. What happens next? How does she react when she realizes that he knows more about her than she does about him or that the world as she knows it just ended?

The Prodigy - a prisoner and guard story with a twist.
What I'm looking for: A story contrasting the attempts of person with supernatural powers to live a normal life and the attempts of their guard to protect that prodigy and everyone else from them.

The Prodigy
Plot: The idea is to contrast a character who manifests supernatural abilities of some kind, but has poor control over them, with a character who is ordered to guard them and protect them and protect everyone else from them too. The prodigy would naturally resent the guard, but what they don't know is that if the guard fails in their duties, the same dark forces that created and moulded the prodigy will certainly destroy the guard's family. The prodigy will seek to evade, escape and thwart the guard. The guard will desperately seek to help the prodigy and protect their family. The exact background of the prodigy and the cause and nature of their powers is open to discussion.

Out of Time - a time travel story.
What I'm looking for: Imagine waking up in the wrong decade...

Plot: Imagine going to sleep and waking up in the past, or the future, and having no idea how you got there or how to get back to your own time. Just to make it even stranger no one else seems to notice that you are literally out of time. You still have a house and a job and friends, but no one believes you are out of your own time. How would a person adjust to this new world? These are ideas I'm looking to explore in this story.

What I'm looking for: I'm always fascinated by a strong contrast of size and race. Go ahead and tempt me...

Set in an alternative world where sub Human species are a common sight and used as servants or worse, there are many companies that offer convenient delivery of young women of these lesser races directly to people's doorsteps. However, what happens when such a delivery goes wrong? There's no way to return the incorrectly addressed delivery, she belonged to him the moment he signed that delivery note, so what will the bride and her new owner do? 

The race or species of the bride can be discussed. I'm craving the race or species and size contrast as well as the issue of ownership. 

Impulse Purchase - a master/slave story.
What I'm looking for: How the relationship between a (hopefully feisty and troublesome) slave and new, inexperienced master develops and changes after he makes an impulsive purchase.

Plot: In a world where slavery is still a normal part of society, a man who would never normally visit a slave auction finds himself there and against his better judgement ends up bidding upon the final lot of the day. Against his expectations his bid is successful and he finds himself the owner of a female slave. She is both is his property and his responsibility. How will their relationship develop? Will he be a kind master or will she force his hand in order to accept his right to control her? Will she submit willingly or unwillingly to him? How will they both be changed by a moment of impulse?

Jailbird - Keep them honest or it's jail for both of you.
What I'm looking for: A newly released prisoner is assigned to an honest, upstanding citizen for probation. If the con breaks the law they both go to jail.

Plot: A new government programme sees citizens without a criminal record assigned a role in the probation of newly released prisoners. If the prisoner is recalled to prison their citizen probation officer is locked up as well. I see the female role as the con, maybe a gang member, but I'm open to discussion in this point.

The Carnival comes to town. - a dystoptian story
What I'm looking for: Men have become a novelty, something to be kept in a cage. So what happens when you actually meet one?

Plot: Whether due to disease, societal change, or technology men have become a rarity and a curiosity. There are only a few left and those are generally to be found in carnivals, caged for the pleasure of their onlookers. A few credits will buy you a glimpse of such a creature. A fistful might buy you more. Perhaps one of these creatures escapes? Perhaps your character gains a night and wants more?

A second chance. - This time will be different.
What I'm looking for: Through the miracle of technology a relationship once shattered into pieces is given another chance. Will it work this time?

A Second Chance.
Plot:Perhaps she died. Perhaps he screwed up bad. Either way he lost her and in losing her he lost a piece of himself. Now he's given a chance. Advanced cloning technology, or perhaps way to step back through time to the moment he first me her. Whatever it is he has a chance to get it right this time. He's not going to waste it. He's not going to make a mistake. He's not going to lose her. There's just one problem. She doesn't remember him at all. He has to win her heart all over again as well, but he remembers everything and she remembers nothing. How do make that relationship work?

The War is Over. – Welcome home Soldier.
What I'm looking for: In the aftermath of a society changing war, a soldier comes home and tries to find their place in a changed world.

Plot: The War is Over. I want to explore how a soldier who has been fighting in a large industrial war of attrition returns to their old home and world and how they have been changed by their experiences. To add a twist to this I would like this to be set in the future and I think it would be very interesting if the soldier was female and the character she comes home to is male.

Death March. – The world and their wounds will kill them if they don’t kill each other first.
What I'm looking for:  Two characters whose natural inclination would be to kill each other on sight are instead forced to work together to survive by a brutal world.

Plot: Death March. In the aftermath of a violent battle two spaceships crash on a barren and hostile planet. Two crew members from those ships are the sole survivors. Both of them are injured. Neither of them can survive without the help of the other. Their only hope is an abandoned monitoring station many miles away. Will they survive? Will they learn to live with each other? Will they become friends, lovers even? I really want to turn up the emotions in this story. I want the characters to start from a point of mutual loathing and suspicion and see if that changes over time.

Fallen from the Stars. – When you wish upon a shooting star…
What I'm looking for: An extra-terrestrial alien falls to Earth. Is it an accident? A plan? A deception?

Plot: Fallen from the Stars An alien comes into contact with a human. Is it a chance meeting or a deliberate one? How are they different? How are they similar? Can they trust each other? How will the alien get home and what is with those guys in black suits and dark cars that suddenly show up in town?

Unholy Creation. – New life is a beautiful thing.
What I'm looking for:  Using experimental, possibly forbidden technology a scientist creates a new being.

Plot: unholy Creation. I want to explore how a scientist who sets out to create a new lifeform finds himself responsible for that being as she grows and learns and changes. Will he exploit her for his own ends? Will he teach her right from wrong? What about her? Will she be kind? Will she be evil? How will she see him? Is he a father, brother, lover? This plot is very open ended and up for discussion.

These stories don't really fit neatly in one of the other categories, or they could work easily in more than one of them. As such they have ended up here in a little muddle all of their own.

Bitter Alliance - Can two enemies become allies?
What I'm looking for: Conflict, contrast and what happens when mutual attraction enters into that explosive mix.

Plot: Two bitter rivals or enemies who have previously had no reason to like or trust each other are thrown into a situation where in order to survive they must both rely upon their hated foe. Can they put aside their differences? Can they work as a team in order to to survive? What will happen when they realize that there more to their partner than their prejudices had lead them to believe? Can trust and friendship or even something deeper and more powerful grow between them? Let's create a pair and throw them into peril to find out.

Help me please - an amnesia focused story
What I'm looking for: A stranger wakes up in an unfamiliar place. They can't remember how they got there, or their own name. They need help.

Plot: I'm interested in exploring how a person who suddenly loses everything, even their own identity would find their place in the world again. I'm wondering if they manage to piece together their old life and reclaim it or if their new life comes to mean more than their old one ever could and they are happy to let it go.

What I'm looking for: The Martians are coming...

War of the Worlds.
Plot: A story set in and loosely following the plot of the novel by H G Wells. I want to follow the twists and turns of two refugees fleeing and surviving the chaos of the invasion and then following them through until the Martians defeat at the hands of the bacteria and viruses of Earth and then trying to adapt to the changed world left behind.

Bird in a Gilded Cage. - "Please Mr Detective, you gotta help me. They'll kill me if they find me."
What I'm looking for: A private investigator gets involved with a femme fatale with ties to the mob. Will he help her? Will they both survive the song of the Chicago Piano?

Plot: A take on the noir world of the PI and the beautiful woman. Prohibition is at its peak with the corruption and the gangster underworld that was associated with it. Everyone is on the take except for one PI with a reputation for doing the right thing. So when a woman with a past and ties to the gangsters needs help there's only one door in town she can knock on. Will he help her? What secrets does she have? Will they both be able to survive the shadows hunting them? Will the last tune they hear be the stutter of the Chicago piano?

Hunter becomes the Hunted  - a supernatural battle of wills.
What I'm looking for: A battle of wills. Two powerful characters battling for dominance. Possibly with non con and the use of force and pain to achieve that dominance.

Plot: A powerful creature of the night in her prime encounters a man with powers of the blood all of his own that he wields against her. Will she fight? Will she run? What price will she be willing to pay in order to survive? What plans does he have for her once he has defeated her?

Alpha or Omega - a tale across the lines of two contrasting races. 
What I'm looking for: One of the last members of an old dying race, or the first members of an emerging new one encounters a creature, similar, but not like itself. What will the two of them learn from each other?

Plot: I don't have much of a plot in mind yet. It's a story that really depends on the proposed pairing, so I can't go into detail. If you're interested, please let me know and we can work on a story between us based on your character. The story will revolve around the contrasts between them both physically, but also culturally and possibly in terms of social status too. This story could work in a modern, fantasy or science fiction setting I think.

The New Fighter - youth and strength against experience and wisdom
What I'm looking for: A young, cocky and gifted fighter is failing to reach her potential. She is partnered with a new trainer, a fighter who was forced to retire from the ring due to injury. She could learn a lot from him if she would actually listen to a word he says.

Plot: I'm interested in contrast between youth and age. So the younger character will have all the strength, speed and cockiness that does with being at their absolute peak and the older character will have all the knowledge and experience that goes with age. Will they learn to work together as a team to help the younger character fulfill their as yet unrealized potential.

Vengeance, but at what cost? – Can one so lost to the darkness even be saved?
What I'm looking for: A powerful villainous entity, her heart filled with bitterness and hate seeks her revenge. Can she be stopped?

I’m interested in story to see if a powerful villainous entity, hell bent on a path of revenge, such as Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, Princess Ahmanet from the Mummy, the White Witch from Narnia could not just be stopped, but even turned away from their path and redeemed.  The female character should need to be powerful, strong willed and committed to her plan. It should be a battle to change her mind, change her heart and even then she should not necessarily give up on the darkness that give her all her strength and power.

Plot: I don't have much of a plot for this one. Like I said I'm interested in the contrast between two anthro lovers. I'm entirely open as to the species of the lover and the plot that we take. This story may be more short terms than some of the others and is more smut focused.

The morning after...  - a contemporary spontaneous romance.
What I'm looking for:Two strangers wake up in a hotel room with a hangover and wedding rings. What the hell happened last night? What the hell happens next? What do you mean it can't be annulled?

Plot:You wake up with a hangover, a wedding ring and a new life partner you've known for one evening. The judge isn't amused. You have to try to make it work before you can apply to have an annulment. Go away and come back in a month. Yes they changed the law and you are the first to try it the consequences of it. Deal with it.

Someone to lean on - a contrast of two relationships
What I'm looking for: A contrast between an abusive relationship and a supporting, ultimately loving, but illicit one.

Plot: A man takes his coffee in the same diner every morning and every morning he sees her and smiles at her and she smiles back. Just a little moment of silent human acknowledgement between them. They’ve never spoken, never done anything more than smile at each other until the morning she has a black eye and he comes over to ask if she is alright. 
What will she tell him? Will she even speak to him? How can he convince her to trust him? How can he tell her that she is the most beautiful woman that he has ever seen and that he has been silently in love with her ever since that first smile? How will the man who gave her the black eye react? Can their keep their relationship a secret? How will they finally manage to be together? I think this story could be particularly interesting with an interracial element thrown into it.

Plot:Fooling around with a very old, very strange book of spells results in an unwitting Summoner and a summoned demon bound together. How does an ancient and powerful demon react to being bound to whims of a foolish mortal who does not even understand what they have dabbled in or the damage they have done to the very fabric of reality? I'm open to playing either role.

Plot: A human warrior is taken prisoner by a fierce and mostly female tribe of Orcs. He expects a painful death and the tattoos that he is daubed with hurt like nothing he had ever experienced. He readies himself for his end, a sacrifice to their crude gods no doubt, but that is not the fate that the Shamaness has in mind for him when he is brought before her...

Redemption and temptation. - Can she trust him? Can he walk the line?
What I'm looking for:A powerful and independent female character from the dark fringes of society meets a man, the first man who does not judge or criticize her for what she is. He meets a woman who intrigues, attracts and terrifies him by turns.

Plot:The setting is up for discussion, but the idea is that a powerful female characters, something to the equivalent of a gang leader, pirate queen, chief thief or alike. A female character who has worked hard to gain her place in her world, who has suffered and made others suffer to do so, then meets a man who seems not to judge or care about what she is. Maybe he is a new priest or a doctor. What is certain is that he is quite unlike any man she has ever met before. What will happen when they are drawn into each other's worlds?

These poor things have been looked over so many times that I don't know if they actually appeal to anyone or not. They are currently sinking into the dust on this high shelf. Why not fetch one down and dust it off?

Plot: An artist or sculptor creates a statue or painting so perfect and beautiful to him that he falls in love with it. Perhaps he is shy and bashful or his perfect woman in not interested in him or unavailable. Perhaps no woman has yet touched his heart. One day he returns to his studio to find a real, living breathing woman, the very image of his creation there, a woman who seems to know him, know the secrets that he whispered only to his creation. Could it be that the image of perfection that he has idolised and dreamed of for so long has become flesh and blood? How will she adapt to a world that she knows nothing of beyond the four walks she has seen and the whispered words of her creator?
Will romance be able to blossom between them in such difficult, confusing and inexplicable circumstances? 

This could easily have a swap of roles, which might even make it more interesting.

Stolen away - a thief's story
What I'm looking for: A fantasy world story with a swashbuckling , seedy edge to it. A contrast of character backgrounds and interests. A romance that blooms as a rogue or thief and a stolen prize fight to escape the clutches of one who would own her and never willingly let her go.

Plot: A skilled common born thief sneaks into a mansion or palace intending to help himself to some of the possessions of the wealthy owner. What he does not expect is to be caught by the owner's most treasured possession; a woman who has everything, but who has found that it has all turned to ash in her mouth. 
Will he escape? Will he willingly or unwillingly help her escape? What will happen to both of them when the one who has possessed her throws every resource he has, calls in every favour that he is owed to try to reclaim her and to capture and destroy the one who stole her away from him?

The corner booth - a time travel romance.
What I'm looking for: A romance and a relationship between two characters from different eras.

Plot: A man takes a seat in a corner booth in an old fashioned restaurant and meets a charming, if strangely dressed young lady. They begin to meet regularly and after a while they realize that they live ninety years apart. Can they continue their relationship can the find a way to take it beyond the corner booth of the restaurant? How will they settle into the different worlds that each of them inhabit?

I have updated the page, tweaking existing story concepts and adding several new ones. I'm looking to take on a new stories at the moment.
I am open to discussing any of my ideas.
