So my concept evolved a bit from a woodsy scout person into a pure fighter bodyguard. Here is the background for Lucita, sheet forthcoming.

Lucita Glyn has known it was her duty to fight and possibly die for a Lancaster since the day she was first handed a practice sword to begin her combat training. Lucita was nine. This was because the Glyn’s have been a client family of the House of Lancaster for three generations. Several of the Lancasters trusted advisors, servents and especially bodyguards have borne the last name Glyn and it is said that Lucita’s uncle Marcus Glyn hasn’t been more than 20 paces from Darian Sr in a decade. Tall and strong for her age Lucita was identified by the senior Glyns and Lancasters as fit for similar duty to his uncle, so the summer after her ninth birthday she was given a waster and told that she would not be a handmaiden or a seamstress like her sisters. Lucita was pleased.

As a child Lucita visited the Lancasters along with the other members of the family often, and when they were older was even set to play with a young Catherine when it was deemed proper or necessary. When not being made familiar with the Lancasters and their estates she was in training in the skill would need from combat to etiquette. When she came of age she was gifted a suit of armor and assigned as one of the household guards.

When Darian II was given the task of taming the wilds of the Greenbelt there was no doubt whatsoever that a Glyn or two would be sent along with him to serve in one capacity or another. The Glyns would have it no other way, for despite being loyal retainers they are still a canny and ambitious family and know that the rise of the Lancasters is their rise as well, and that this was the opportunity to claim some lands and some prestige for themselves, rising above being a mere client family. Thus Marcus Glyn whispered into Darian I’s ear and the elder Lancaster gave his son the kind of suggestion that one does not ignore.

Lucita for her part, is happy to be chosen for the mission knowing that it was her uncle’s faith and trust in her that got it. She is eager to prove herself both as a bodyguard keeping the Lancasters from harm and as an asset to her family, which means being sharp enough to spot opportunities to profit with or without the Lancasters’ assistance. Additionally, for Darian Lucita’a presence is a double edged sword. He will certainly be happy to have a loyal sword at his or his sisters side, but she will also certainly be sending word back to her uncle as some point which brings the possibility of his father hearing things Darian may or may not wish him to hear.

Okay, here comes both my hexblade and druid concept together in more detail.

As mentioned, this is my hexblade concept for my warlock. In party role he will be in front lines but also using magic so he will be gish sort character. Origins of his patron is sentient armory (related to being servant or such entity from Gorum who is god of warfare). So semi-divine origins as patrons goes. But overall how he relates to Lancasters is that he is mercenary and he does belong to company of mercenaries (or should belong) but company details can be hashed later. He is half-elf but if it would be deal breaker he could be just a human as well. Overall intent him to be self-buffing arcane warrior who debufs enemies and strikes hard with powerful arcane smites on them. Lancasters may frown or look down his magic as it's not wizard's devoted study nor inherit like sorcery but rather some 'sugar daddy' just gives him magic which he may or may not deserve to have.

History

Lurion lived a regular life in small town with his parents, smith father and elven mysterious wife who knew magic but discreetly used it and worked as midwife and herbalist. Then just one day she left, without word even to say goodbye to neither him nor his father. His father grew bitter drunk and quality his work went down and Lurion was ten at the time. Lurion grew rebellious youth as his father gave no damn about him (only for his next drink) and he himself lazed around stealing and cheating money from people with card games or otherwise. Learning to sneak and be watchful for guards who learned about his trickery. He avoided even going home to avoid get beating from his father who tried take all his earnings for next dwarven whiskey bottle.

Then came time when some raiders came to town, assault it and guards and the guards were overwhelmed and could not protect everything in small town. Raiders struck hardest on trade and poor districts, Lurion trying run and hide to survive but raiders however found him. Lurion was scared, desperate and whispering for salvation, then answer came in monotonous voice offering him 'powers of warrior' in return he dedicates his life to arts of war. In desperation he agreed and as bandit's blade slashed near his head, blood pouring down his neck onto medallion which was memento from his mother, the amulet glowed and then he felt powerful arcane energy fill him and he assaulted raiders with blast of magic!

Raiders backed off and retreated with their spoils in the trade district as he started wildly fling magic around. But aftermath his father denounced him, as he recognized magic he wielded as mother's and called him a witch! The townsfolk who had already agitated from attack and his past antics as local schemer was driven out from his hometown. Guards prevented lynching mob taking him but they are ones who brought him out of town. He gave middle finger to his own hometown and left it behind him. Place never truly feeling home since his mother left him and father.

In his travels he studied and learned his magic is pact magic based, that much his patron through dreams also confirmed and his medallion, memento from mother, was arcane focus and was only reason how he managed seal and do pact as focus allowed anyone do a pact. So thus indicate his mother is warlock, pact magic user, as well. However patron has confirmed mother has different patron than his, as his prayer just happened in place dedicated to Lurion's present patron; on field of battle and inside a armory. Lurion has since then followed bidding of his patron, learning from mercenaries, soldiers and alike tactics, weapon skills and overall becoming better warrior.

Over the years he lived in woods learned the source of whispers was Lamashtu, mother of monsters. He was now one her children, disfigured and thus his true nature brought to surface. In life before banishment he did live like a rutting beast in heat and not as a man. So he accepted it and his ugliness and started revere Lamashtu and meet with other cultist, including interacting with goblins who taught him more of the faith.

Besides some random encounters with other cultists and goblins he lived in solitude in greenbelt, at River Kingdoms, until he happened wander to Lancaster lands, starting pouch from their lands and even go so far as break inside their manor pantry and then get caught by guards. Vicious like animal he fought but Lancasters who were already planning go to River Kingdoms recognized the medallion he wore; crude bone medallion made for Lamashtu and he had displayed druidic magic in use. Once learning he lived in said region they enslaved him with magical collar, regarding him nothing more than a ugly beast which shall help them conquer River Kingdoms for glory of Lancasters.

For now Melvar tolerates his condition but also constantly plans for escape and revenge for his capture, especially on the sister of the Lancaster lord leading the expedition as she had done most cruelest torments and teases on him. His every night fantasies of tormenting her gives him brief respite, besides filling his bloodlust and serving Lamashtu other ways.

There's my first attempt at a 5e character! Hopefully I didn't do anything wrong or leave anything out. I gave myself a custom background, hopefully that's okay. I just tried to copy the kinds of things that the backgrounds in the core rulebook had.

History

Cassie left her father's potato farm as a young girl, gripped by wanderlust and looking for anything more than that provincial life. She sought adventure on the high seas and severely misjudged the integrity of the crew that she signed on with. She agreed to cook and swab in return for being taught to sail, scout, fight and be a swashbuckling adventuress. Instead land was barely out of sight before she was seized, stripped, and tied over the nearest railing for the perverse entertainment of the crew.

After that she was traded to a merchant vessel for a load of tobacco where she spent as much time kneeling between the commandant's knees as she did swabbing his quarters. When the merchant vessel made berth she was sold on the auction block in a Chellish port and acquired by a cruel noble with an inquisitive mind and an interest in the transformative powers of alchemy. When he tired of her he sold her to the Young Blossom, a brothel that specialized in selling halfling women.

After a string of travails and humiliations she was finally able to escape and made her way to the stolen lands in search of a life of freedom at last. Ever the poor judge of character, she signed on with Darian's expedition as a scout.

Ooh, I only just saw this.  Are you still accepting character concept submissions?
If so, I'd like to put forward one for consideration.  She'd start as a goodie-two-shoes, but temptable and corruptible, and may become self-flagellatory about it.

Apologies that I don't know the lore of the setting, and am open to ideas of how she'd come to be in service to the Lancasters.  Perhaps a distant cousin through marriage?

Description
Appearance:
Lieselotte is a lovely slender, petite young woman.  Her fair complexion and blonde hair is somewhat uncommon for a Taldan noble, taking after her mother's family that originated in the regions to the north.  She favors wearing light colors reflecting her devotion to the sun goddess; her clothing choices won't violate the demands of modesty, but usually entices with a show of some skin:  bare shoulders and/or back, some cleavage, baring midriff, slits in her skirt showing off leg, etc.

Personality
Devoted to the codes of the church, Lieselotte is genuinely kind and caring. She is however conscious of the fact of her own shortcomings, and failures to perfectly uphold the church's teachings in her heart and mind, if not in deeds - her temptations to vanity, to ease and comfort, and darker desires that she is horrified to admit to herself.  Her service to the church is constantly weighed by her spiraling sense of guilt and need for penance.

History
The middle daughter of a Taldan noble family, Lieselotte is deeply pious, devoting herself to the Church of Sarenrae.  Because of the potential political controversy that might provoke, she willingly left at behest of her family.  She traveled north towards her mother's ancestral lands, hoping that the message of Sarenrae might offer peace to those chaotic regions.  A divine augury cast before her departure had also directed her to both opportunity and danger in Brevoy.

Using her noble status and background to make introduction to the Swordlords of Restov, she was approached by her cousin, Darian Edward James Lancaster II, and his sister, Catherine, to join them in their endeavor to reclaim the Greenbelt.  Even knowing something about their familial differences, she sympathized with their enormous task, and was at the same time excited at the immediate opportunity to help bring order to the region.  She jumped at the opportunity to join them.

Caroline Marie Lancaster
When Catherine Lancaster was growing up, because of her relative importance and fear of her being kidnapped and used as a hostage. Catherine’s parents, really her mother decided to find a body double, playmate and bodyguard for her. Fortunately, it was found that there was just the right candidate, a relative of the Lancaster family, had a child of the same age and has an uncanny resemblance to Catherine (possibly the result of an affair with Catherine’s father). Arrangements were made to bring the girl into the Lancaster household in secret. These arrangments include living in the Lancaster household, learning how to protect Catherine and if required sacrifice her life to save Catherine. This was a hard ask, and the complete details of the arrangements have not been made public and few knew the exact details.

Caroline was brought into the family at a young age to serve that purpose. It was also the last time she ever saw her own parents but before she left, she mad a promise to her parents that she would do what they have asked, to do her job to the best of her ability regardless for the next 20 years. Her father gave her a family "heirloom" to hold her to her promise and that of her household. She studied with Caroline, served as her body double, playmate and “whipping girl”. She however did not attend arcane classes but was trained in the arts of assassination, poisons and how to hide and protect Catherine.
Choice is but an Illusion. Consequences are however real.

Hobbes1266

Just a little nit pick, but a roleplay on discord is meant to be advertised on the non-forum roleplay board.

Uxi

I know. My bad 😓. I just wasn't anticipating a large response. It was planned for forum play but we felt Discord would serve better for the larger group.

Hobbes1266

Its just a nit pick, and that's a perfectly good explanation.

Edit: also it looks like we have eight characters at the moment, not including the Lancaster siblings.

I'm not going to lie, my basis of deciding was made remarkably easier by having exactly 8 people who posted expanded concepts / character sheets!  ;D  PMs have been sent out.

Chulanowa, Marked Insanity - If the both of you still wish to take part, I invite you both to participate as NPC tier characters! No character sheet needed, you're merely for eye-candy and sexiness!
