I am already thinking about getting that girl boxing lessons when she turns 5. So she can defend herself.

You raise her to be strong and stand up for herself and to make sure knows she is special.  You also keep her safe by letting her know you are there behind her and by making it know to all her crew that you are there as well.  I never had it when I was growing up but a lot of my friends had parents who told their kids to tell their friends their parents would kick their butts if they tried to get them in trouble.

We were a good group of kids but we all felt safer know there were adults at our back.
