Hi there and thanks for stopping by!

I’m looking for one or preferably two players who are interested in writing an interesting player character in an Amber Chronicles (loosely) based, non-canon game, using (lightly) the Amber Diceless Role Playing Game (DRPG) system.  The system is really just for balancing the building of your far more than merely human powered character, after that the game is really far more about writing and roleplaying than game playing.  Writing is essentially free form, with the system again used to build your character and set them loose in the infinite worlds of the Amber-verse.

Is this a forum game?  Yes, but a dedicated forum outside of E.  There are already three players, looking for a max (for now) of two more.

Does player gender matter?  Not at all.  I would like one more female character to join, but that is not required and player versus character gender or gender identification does not matter at all.  The game is very LGTQA and any other sexuality or gender identification type friendly.  I am hoping the game will last a long time, so characters with lots of room to grow and develop and writers looking for and interested in that are what fit this game and experience, nothing more or less than that.

Do I need to be experienced with Amber stories and the Amber DRPG?  Nope, some experience would be a tad helpful, but since I break canon in tons of ways and the original books are kind of mediocre (but make a great multiverse concept to play/write in), pretty much if you have time to read a Wikipedia article on the books and the DRPG system you will have all the knowledge you need.  Amberites are a bit like gods in a pantheon all their own but interacting with all sorts of other creatures on a regular basis.  The guy who wrote the books, Zelazny, stole freely from various classic mythologies in creating his concepts and characters and so shall we.  Amber opens up pretty much every writing genre possible, so bring your ideas and plenty of them.

What does solo-style group game even mean?  The player characters will occasionally meet up, more or less so depending on player preference, but most of the time they have their own adventure and thread to post in with myself as the GM posting opposite your character.  I have plenty of NPCs that are fully formed and detailed and even invite players to create their own NPCs and help build the world(s) we play in.  There is an overall plot and metagame/metastory, so things that happen in one thread can and reverberate across other players threads.  The entire writing process is player driven, with your ideas helping to move the story forward in a way that pleases, and yet surprises you at the same time.  There is an OOC for chatting with the GM and other players whenever you like.

How often is posting offered/expected?  Posting frequency will average two fairly meaty posts per week.  This venture is about writing a great character and story, so detailed and creative writers are a must.  I have several strong writers and role players already, so one liner folks will not enjoy this game, but there is no need for you to be anything more than passionate about creating an interesting character and writing in some detail as we collaboratively tell the story that their adventures and experiences create.

This is non-adult (the section says so), is there still romance and the like? The game is adult in that I don’t want folks below the age of 18 writing in it, the level of romance, sexiness, adventure, horror, tragedy, humor and more will basically reach R-rated levels at times.  The game is not erotica based, but steamy scenes and long or short term romances are likely a part of the story of your character, along with adventures and action and intrigue and fun and just plain writing yumminess.  The entire point of Amber is that realities and possibilities are endless, take advantage of that and write an epic tale with us!

PM me here is you are interested, have questions or just to chat.  Thanks for reading my jibber-jabber if you reached all the way to this point wihtout clicking the back button first   :-)
