Seeking a talented writer who values character development and paying attention to detail.

It doesn't matter to me what your real gender is but I am looking for somebody to play a male character.

The idea came to me while traveling up north to a secluded place with lots of cabins, lakes, and nature.

(Short Background) My character has been friends with your family for years. We lived on the same street and spent so much time together on weekends and even going on trips together. As time went on however, we all drifted apart but we still stayed in brief contact over the years.  We lived in a big industrial city where there were lots of people, traffic and chaos. You were a good student always conscientious of your marks as well as dedicating your time to sports, especially running. You would even hang out with my kids quite a bit.

Things began to change. My character got a divorce and ended up moving away. In fact, she moved nearly 7 hours away up north where there were lots of cabins, lakes, and nature. Our families never saw one another for quite a long time.

Then...

This story is going to take place with your character being 19 years old and mine in her early 40's.

She's a therapist and has a group home for troubled people over the age of 18. Out of the blue she receives a phone call from your mother stating that you need help. She can't handle you anymore. You've just started your first year of college. You've been hanging around a rough crowd.

The idea of the story is that you come up north to stay at the group home but you are definitely not the sweet guy she once remembers. You're a man now and you've grown so tall. You still have that lean, slightly muscled runner body but your full of angst. You've lived in the city your whole life. How will you adapt to being in a quiet, secluded place?

With my character being the therapist she will spend a great deal of time with him trying to work out his difficulties. Themes in this story would be a troubling personality, alcohol, drug abuse, depression, anger, rage and a need for control.

She's hoping that by him not being around his old crowd and living in a slower paced town will help him deal with his demons. Along the way they become closer and develop a taboo relationship. I'd like to really work on that character development and how they connect. That push and pull between them, the power exchanges and how it relates to his healing.

I imagine there would be many walks in the woods with sitting by the fire at night by the lake. Maybe he gets better but then relapses and they have to deal with that set back.

I am open to many thoughts and ideas since this is a rough shell of what I had in my mind. If you are interested and able to post at least once a week with a decent sized amount of paragraphs please send me a PM.

Hey there,

I came across this post and I really like the idea of writing something like this. I immediately thought of the HBO show "In Treatment" So I think writing a male role like this is right up my alley.

Looking forward to chatting.
