Updated, specifically this paragraph. I'm not particularly knowledgeable in martial arts but these seemed the most helpful for street fighting.

Marie's parents raised her into a super soldier. She was carefully trained in everything from hand to hand combat to sniping. She is versed in Taekwondo, Jujutsu, Aikido, Wing Chun, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Krav Maga, Muay Thai, Kendo, Gatka, archery, and knife throwing. She prefers not to use guns, but she has experience with handguns and various types of rifles. Less importance was placed on academics, but she still excelled with little effort on her part. As she aged she was given more freedom to choose her path, but she had already become committed to mastering combat and putting her skills to good use. By the time she was eighteen, she had already become a small-time vigilante. In her adult career, she had litte regard for the government and their annoying rules. She wasn't technically labeled a criminal, but she certainly didn't have a clean record.

Appearance: Vika has bright blue eyes and a wide, friendly smile. A little too friendly. And perceptive observers often note that that smile appears to contain far too many teeth. Her hair is light blonde, with smooth, alabaster skin to match. Vika is slender and long-limbed, with wide, inviting hips that look just a little too big for the rest of her body. When fully-extended, her tongue is much too long, and in the right light, her eyes appear red instead of blue.

Powers:

Dread Whispers: Anyone who spends an extended period in Vika's presence begins to suffer from an unshakable sense of creeping dread that pulls at the edges of their minds. This makes them far more prone to making silly mistakes that a calm, rational mind would be able to avoid.

Mental Illusions: Those who find themselves on Vika's bad side find that they begin to lose grip on their sanity, suffering from chaotic visions and hallucinations. Vika does not currently have enough control over her powers to control the shape these illusions take, and so they typically manifest themselves as a disturbing blend of the victim's worst fears and darkest, most forbidden fantasies. Maintaining these illusions for long periods of time leaves Vika weak and drained of energy.

Tenebrous Grasp: Vika opens a small portal to the Void - the space between dimensions. Living shadows pour through the opening, lashing out at her foes and restraining them with a fel strength.

Weaknesses:

Cultist Command: Vika is nowhere near as powerful or as willful as her father, and she may be compelled into obedience with the correct rituals and incantations.

Void Mind: Despite being voidtouched, Vika is still part human, so her mind is not fully insulated against the maddening truths that await in the void.  In areas and around objects that are touched by the void, her thoughts become fractured, disjointed, and twisted as the void resonates through her.

Background:

Shar-Vikarteth is the daughter of a talented void-cultist and the void creature her mother managed to summon. Vika has never met her father, and everything her mother is willing to tell her about him is the highly-romanticized, PG-13 version. She isn't sure if her father is particularly powerful - he could be a nameless footsolider of the void, or he could be an Old One. Though Vika resents her mother for not telling her more, her mother is keeping her in the dark out of love - if no one knows the true specifics of her origin, that makes it much harder for anyone to learn the rituals necessary to control her.

Vika rarely talks about her home life, but not for any sinister reason. She rarely talks about it because it's just so boring. Her mother has a moderately successful home business making artisan soaps, but for a house owned by a someone who managed to pull a being from somewhere other than reality, the place is surprisingly barren of cool occult objects. In spite of all her efforts to remedy the situation, Vika has many acquaintances - one would have difficulty finding a member of the student body with a bad thing to say about her - but no real friends. She's friendly, pretty, and occasionally witty, but the nature of her powers makes spending more than a few minutes around her a decidedly unenjoyable experience.

Personality:

Vika is a typical teenage girl in most respects, save one; the depthless, maddening black abyss that exists where her soul should be. She worries about her exams, being popular, and whether or not her current crush will like the newest outfit she picked out. She also occasionally suffers the uncontrollable urge to feed on the sanity of those around her. Vika is keenly aware of her 'condition' and her inability to control it, and is extremely self-conscious about the situation. She reguarly overcompensates by being aggressively cheerful and friendly. Despite her efforts to the contrary, Vika is extremely inept at making friends, and has a tendency to put her foot in her mouth.

She often has difficulty understanding more esoteric human concepts like ethics and morality, and many members of the faculty and student body suspect that she'll grow up to be a villainess. Vika vacillates between rebellion against and acceptance of this fact. Sometimes she honestly doesn't realize that she's having an evil thought, but other times she uses her heritage as an excuse to break rules she doesn't like. "It's my nature. What's your excuse?" is one of her favorite sayings.

Whether due to her parentage or just some stroke of coincidence, Vika is fascinated by the occult, and will go out of her way to learn more about her heritage and the space between universes that shouldn't exist.

Likes: Horror movies, the color black, baking, anything to do with magic or the occult, mass panic/hysteria, cats, rare meat

Dislikes: Unfriendly people, being treated like an abomination, cheerful/uplifting music, holy objects, overcooked meat

I had a little trouble filling out Vika's 'background' section. I'm not exactly sure where to go with it other than "she has her powers because of her heritage." I can try to expand it more if necessary, though.

you will have to downplay the strength of her hallucinations a bit, since she is only supposed to be a student. otherwise she'll be a little over powered at the beginning

I was thinking that it takes quite a while for them to get to full strength. Like long enough that it isn't very often that opponents are actually subjected to max power. That and maintaining them for long periods (especially on more than one target) isn't something she's capable of yet.

The reasoning behind the lack of backstory with my guy is because I have a pretty big shocking secret he is keeping that could bring his family to ruin! I look forward to people getting to know him and then learning the truth about what his family is doing to him!
