Jinxed Reborn - Clothes Falling Apart! Oh My!

 A while back, PrestaDGTation had this game running and she has kindly consented to lend her expertise and experience so that we can give this another go. Hopefully between the two of us, we can make this a fun experience for all.

Jinxed is based on the work of a person named Gao 23.  He'd pretty good in the 'supernatural bad luck causes clothing to come off in public' genre of erotica.  He's on deviant art, if you're curious.  But it got me (DG) thinking.. I need more stuff where people accidentally wind up baring it all by tripping over themselves!  So I said to myself, Self, let's start a game!

  The premise will be simple!  College / Entry Level Office / Socialite / etc human characters are all part of a local community.  But there is something strange going on, and people are being Jinxed.  When a person is Jinxed, every post has to have at least one clothing-related failure in it until he or she is far enough into ENM or ENF territory that the GM's rule that it is time to pass the proverbial baton.  And once the baton has made a few rounds, well fellow E-writers, I don't think I have to tell you that all sorts of fun can happen from there!  xD

So in short, there are going to be repeated cases of supernatural bad luck, leading to people running around in tatters or less in very public places.  There will be a supernatural aspect in this game.  Somebody has the ability to cause this kind of bad luck.  The who's, how's and why's will remain for the players to discover, if they so choose.  But it will be possible for a character to not only stop the jinx from happening, but to acquire the ability for themselves.  At which point, the game should get reaaaalllly interesting!

Part 1: The Setting

  This game is going to take place in modern times, in place called Davidson City.  Think of it like a fictional Boston.  The coast is there, but the city is much better known for its urban community than its beaches.  Tall buildings, old money, historical architecture, and a nice New England Bustle.  Or put another way, conservative rich bastards.

  Now, the city can be beautiful, and the cultural delights here are nothing to sneeze at.  In fact, one of the things people seem to like about the town is that the outer section seems to sprawl, but the uptown area is actually fairly tightly packed.  It's possible to walk from Rickert University, to a 5 star restaurant called Zoe's, to a posh theater called Thornival's, to the bus station, all in under 20 minutes.  And if you like something different, the city almost certainly has it close by.  This uptown area, is where the meat of our story takes place.

At some point, we may decide to flip the setting to make for fun and freshness elsewhere. But we'll see where fate takes us when the time comes.

Part 2: The Characters

  The two themes here are exhibitionism / humiliation, and the mystery of finding out who, why, and how the hell are they doing this.  Both of those are greatly helped by actually having a bit of a community of characters.  Because of that, I'm asking everyone to list a minimum of 3 NPCs when they create their characters.  People we can control that your characters are related to.  There are three types: a Superior, a Benevolent, and a Complicated NPC.  Just listing a simple name and a roll for each will suffice.  Or, you can go into detail!  Just remember we'll be playing them, so leave a little room for us to add something you might not expect into each one.  You can also add more NPCs, as you please.  But for now, keep it under 6!  And of course, there are no limits or rules on inter-player-character relationships!

  As for your character, the only stipulation we need from you is that you have to have a reason to regularly be in Uptown Davidson City.  The rest is up to you!  Oh!  But it might help if you looked good naked!  Just saying!  xD

Relationships: (This is important.  Player interactions are your own thing, but we need at least 3 NPCs from everyone.  Be as descriptive as you want, add as many as you like!  Or, just a name and a roll in each space below will work.)
  -NPC Superior: (Someone you want to impress, for whatever reason.  Employers, Mentors, Role-models, Crushes, etc.)
  -NPC Benevolent: (Someone that you trust to have your best interests in mind.  Friends, Admirers, Siblings, Doctors, etc.)
  -NPC It's Complicated: (Someone you don't have a good relationship with.  Ex's, Rivals, Moral Authorities, Unwanted Admirers, Friends You're Fighting With, etc.)
Sexuality: (What gets your character going?  Please list or link to hard offs and so forth.)
Anything else:  (Whatever else you want to add!)

Part 3: Jinxed

JINXED

  We're going to attempt to stage the scenes so they have a rapid wind-up.  Meaning, by turn two or three, SOMEONE is going to be jinxed.  Meaning, of course, that the supernatural bad luck going around has targeted them.  When this happens, one of us will inform you of your status.  Once you are Jinxed, every post you make has to include at least one piece of your clothing suffering a compromising malfunction.  There is no limit on what can happen, and you decide the manner in which your unfortunate strip takes place.  The more creative, the better.  The only thing I ask is, well, remember the theme.  Exhibition, humiliation, that kind of thing.  A building fire can torch your clothes to nothing, for example!  Okay, but the everyone's going to be looking at the fire when that happens, and there's a justifiable reason why you're like that.  Just a for-instance.

  The Jinx will last until we tell you it stops, or until the scene ends.

  We're sure you have a few questions!

  -If my character winds up totally naked, but then gets MORE clothes, does the jinx still affect them?
   Good Question!  Try it and find out!

  -That was hella vague!  Is there a way to cheat the jinx?
   Maybe!

  -Is this an equal opportunity jinx?  Will this happen to guys?
   It certainly can!  Any character is a potential target.  It will depend on the motive of whoever is actually causing the jinx to happen.

  -Can more than one person be jinxed at a single time?
   Certainly!  It won't happen at first, but it's a possibility!

  -So, if we find the person doing it, we find the method!  And after that, we can't be jinxed?
   Good question!  Try it and find out!

  -But if we do find the thing, we can jinx anybody?
   Absolutely!  Once you figure out how to do it, you can jinx everybody, for all I care!  xD

  -Does the game end, if we get the thing?
   Not really.  The power shifts hands, is all.  And trust me, I can shift it back, if I have to!  ^_^

  -What about non-consent?
   Well, the theme is non-consensual.  If you mean non-consensual sex, that's up to the writers!  All I ask is that everyone be respectful!  Although, if non-con bothers you, this might not be your cup of tea.

  -What about sex?
   You know, considering this is a cheesecake style game, we're going to say that sex can happen in any thread.  Just tag it with a warning.

  -What exactly will you be doing, as GM's, if the writers are the ones making their own clothes fall off?
   Hehehe!  Well, we're doing that so everyone can be as creative as they want!  What we'll be doing is setting scenes at various venues, moving pieces around to add additional panic, that kind of thing.  Also, if someone does post a little too modestly, we might cause something to, ahem, speed up the process.

  -Can we start our own scenes, or make up new places for them to happen at?
   Please do!  And yes, you can be jinxed during those!

  -If we need to, can we specify a scene where jinxing doesn't occur?
   Yes.  But it would be a small, more personal location.  Basically, if you can be horribly humiliated, consider it jinxable.

  -Can we be injured?
   Ah!  Good question!  The short answer is no, not seriously.  While you are jinxed, your awful luck causes everything you are wearing to find every hazard imaginable.  But it strangely seems to protect your body from those same situational injuries.  Understand, this is to boost the creative field, rather than limit it.  When a character has loose hanging clothing and is operating heavy machinery, well, nudity is the last of their potential problems.  In this game, that scenario will just result in humiliation.  As opposed to real life, where that's dangerously idiotic.

  -Where's this game going?
   Exotic Non-Con Small Groups, most likely.

  -So, we'll all have to work together to stop the culprit?
   Hahahahaa!  Oh my goodness, no!  Pro-tip, the person who has this ability to jinx you guys is not exactly Carmen Sandiego.  I encourage you all to work against one another, so long as it sates your desires to do so!

I'm glad to have your interest, both of you. The best way to get started is to begin thinking of a character. Once you know who it is you want to play, the rest will begin falling into place.

Sounds like fun; not a million miles from one of my old game ideas.

My only concerns are:

• One wardrobe malfunction per post is a bit fast, turning into 'And all my clothes fell off'; it might be more fun to have a new wardrobe malfunction happen just as the PC was close to dealing with the previous one.
• I'd much prefer someone else suggest the malfunction, rather than having to both choose it and write it; perhaps a thread for suggestions?

Appearance: Caitlin is slim and red-haired, with slightly freckled skin. She tends to dress casually, but has a fondness for skinny jeans to show off her legs.



Biography: Caitlin is a student at Rickert University, majoring in Mathematics.
Relationships:
  -NPC Superior: Paul Burns, an older student she has a crush on.
  -NPC Benevolent: Gabrielle Wells, her roommate, who wants Caitlin to try more adventurous and glamorous clothing.
  -NPC It's Complicated: Connor Carpenter, another student and a former boyfriend, with a distinctly mischievous sense of humor.
Sexuality: Straight, and generally fairly vanilla, but might be persuaded. (My own Ons & Offs can be a guide.)
Anything else: I don't consider it 'god-moding' to receive suggestions about what to do next (e.g. "I've got a funny idea if Caitlin decides to go swimming"), since I have a choice whether or not to follow the suggestion and how, nor to have something happen that my character wouldn't have control over anyway, but I really dislike someone telling me how my character thinks or reacts (so telling me "The strap of Caitlin's dress snapped" is fine, but "Caitlin reacted with horror when the strap of her dress snapped" isn't).

Also, if there's a supernatural element, I'd prefer it to happen in such a way that my character's unaware of it (so using telekinesis when Caitlin's looking the other way is OK, but not while she's watching - I think her freaking out over the supernatural part would supersede everything else).

@Achmed - a suggestion board is definitely a good idea. We're going to roll with it. Likewise we can roll with the pacing of how long it takes for clothing to come off. At least in the beginning, the process will be a bit slower.

Yay! Here's my character then!

Character Name:  Lucia Kalenia

Nicknames: Aura

Age: 26

Gender: Trans Woman

Appearance: Lucia stands at 5' 7" with a medium athletic build (a bit more muscle than your average cheerleader type). Due to the length of time she has been on hormones she passes perfectly as a cis woman provided she is clothed, and has natural C cup breasts. She has golden blonde hair that flows down to between her shoulder blades with a slight curl when not in a ponytail, often kept out of her face by a barrette with a small, purple felt flower on it, and steel blue eyes that seem to shift slightly depending on the light and her mood. She tends to dress somewhat conservatively, often wearing either embroidered jeans or darker skirts that go down to mid-shin with brightly colored tunics and shirts. Occasionally she will wear more frilly and flowing tops paired with leggings, but usually prefers more functional outfits. Lucia keeps her nails short for ease of using tools, but they are always painted in some color, and her toes usually match.

Biography: Lucia Kalenia is 26, and started Hormone Replacement Therapy with her parent's support her senor year of high school, but couldn't socially transition in her home town and was constantly worried about someone finding out. So she saved up as much money as she could to move to Davidson City across the country, where nobody knew her from before. She works at an uptown bookstore full time to pay for her apartment, but also makes jewelry to supplement her income. She stays fairly active by jogging every morning and using a weight set in her apartment.

Lucia is usually very quiet and reserved when not at her job, for fear of outing herself somehow, despite looking and sounding like the woman she is. Once she gets to know someone she opens up considerably, and has a dry, sarcastic sense of humor. She is fiercely loyal to her few friends, and would do anything for them. She also enjoys most types of music and is an avid gamer (though mostly of RPGs).

Relationships:
  -NPC Superior: Jason Talec (age 45, Cis Male, Gay), Owner of Newland Books (Lucia's Job). He hired her even when he didn't really need another employee, and introduced her to the local LGBTQ+ community. Lucia views him as a father figure, but isn't sure how he views her.

  -NPC Benevolent: Jace Maradon (age 24, Non-Binary, Pansexual), Lucia's Roommate. They constantly try to help Lucia get out more and meet people, but other than that act like the sibling Lucia never had. They are almost always cheerful and bubbly, helping Lucia through the tough times.

  -NPC It's Complicated: Jennifer Canton (age 25, Cis Female, Bisexual) Jennifer was a classmate of Lucia's in high school who somehow made it to Davidson City two years after Lucia. she also holds the dubious honor of being the only person other than Lucia's parents to learn that she was transitioning, and promptly used it as blackmail to force Lucia to "date" her for nearly the entire year. Lucia recognized Jennifer when she visited Newland books a few years ago, though Jennifer didn't seem to recognize her.

Sexuality: Pansexual, usually vanilla but occasionally enjoys some rougher play. More details here:

Appearance: Mason is the common, stereotypical, college nerd. He generally wears t-shirts, jeans, hoodies, and almost always has a backpack with him. He has a pair of contact lenses but often wears his glasses. Under his clothes his is a bit more muscular than one might expect and he avoids the locker room or being naked in public.

Biography: Mace enjoys math in all aspects. When he graduates college he plans on working for an investment firm and working in the stock market. He is whiz kid when it comes to the market. Somehow he is able to almost predict the dow jones with almost unerring accuracy and has used this skill to fund his own tuition while still having a healthy sum in the market. He would never tell anyone, but believes he will be a millionaire before he hits 30. Aside from almost effortlessly passing every class and thrashing class assignments like a boss, he is also the president of the Dungeons and Dragons club, and a guildmaster in World of Warcraft.

Relationships:



  -NPC Superior: Dr. Ray Matlock is one of his heroes. A man with a doctorate in education and a mathematical genius. He goes to all of Professor Matlock's seminars as well as his classes.



  -NPC Benevolent: Kelsey Stillwell is Mace's best friend. While he is a whiz at match he has a horrible time in a few other classes. Kelsey has been his tutor in biology and science. Mace has tutored her through chemistry, physics, and algebra. Mace is also pretty good friends with Kelsey's girlfriend Brenda. He never had a sister but if he had, he would want her to be just like Kelsey.



  -NPC It's Complicated: Jerry Preager is the defensive captain of the football team and someone who literally never grew past his annoying high school bravado. He is often press ganged into doing the homework of this particular meathead so the dimwit doesn't flunk out. He does get paid for the efforts, but that doesn't stop Preager from being a dick.

Sexuality: For Mason Erickson this is a somewhat complicated question. He likes girls but he's never actually been with a girl so he's not certain what he likes in the realm of sex. He regularly cybers with someone in his WOW guild, but he has never been with a woman in real life.

Anything else: As a nerd who has spent his entire junior and high school life dodging bullies, he is very accepting of people. He might not understand their problems or ideals, but he's not going to judge them for them either.
