Sim games are better when you activate Dys_Aster mode [open]

Howdy, this is a call out to Dys_Aster, who requested we do a RP together. I'm not really sure what to say, so I wait for your response and we can work out a good scenario!

That doesn't mean this is a closed session! If someone else would like to join, and we both are okay with it, join us!

I would love to do something OC, not based off this show or that book. I'm happy to do any genre! As for what I'd like to do in particular....I'm really up for anything!

No preferences eh? Well that leaves the field wide open doesn't it...

Science fiction, fantasy, supernatural, that vein of science fiction that went so hard it turned into fantasy (Like Shannara and Urth of the New Sun)... Really anything that isn't vanilla reality is good.

Personally my strongest craving at the moment is to play a second in command/right hand/body guard type of character. I want to play with ideas of loyalty, trust, respect, all that jazz.

There was a Jedi in Rogue One? That sounds bad but I only watched the film once and was unable to watch it all in one go, because rude people demanded I do responsible adult things. (Will Google to see if I remember...)

Ooooh, I didn't think he was a Jedi. Just some sort of Force sensitive monk and that the other guy was his brother. (By combat if not by blood.)

Let me ramble a bit in hopes of elaborating a cohesive idea. The whole bounds of loyalty theme is an idea that runs the entirety of my personal offline writing - not that I've ever managed to finish any of it...  I'm really awful left to my own devices. Anyway, the point is this is a recurring thread that I really want to chase out from start to finish. Some of the characters were born into the role of spending their life for another, some managed to choose it for themselves. It's about seeing the character getting thrown into a crucible of temptation and tribulation, to see if their loyalty remains after they claw their way back out. Maybe it even grows, toughening like scar tissue.

Honestly I am not up to snuff with my Star Wars lore. Grew up with the originals (who didn't right?) and really didn't find out there was more lore until after I had sort of moved on to other obsessions. Just thought I would throw that out, I know some people don't like to write with partners that are going to be clumsily fumbling through lore they aren't intimately familiar with.



This isn't something we have to utilize, just something I've been wanting and haven't gotten any nibbles on. Other than that we are back with a wide open "down for anything", which leaves a lot to whittle down.

Hey, no worries. Building the idea is half the fun.

It's just a matter of finding that one spark that will set everything on fire. (There's a dangerous metaphor.)

So let's start with broad strokes, detail will fill itself in as we go right?

Are you feeling something dark and gritty, or more light hearted? Do you like the heroes to triumph in the end or get destroyed in the attempt to do good? Do you want to be a good guy or a bad guy?
