He became too close, the young FBI agent, to the killer he was pursuing, a peculiar relationship developing between them.  Eventually, the stress was enough to endanger his health both physically and mentally, emotionally. He took a leave of absence.

A house in the country was purchased, one dating back into the 1700s, surrounded by nothing but country and woods, dense forest. Isolated. Private.
It was to be a haven for him, and his girlfriend.

But a house that old has history, secrets, and in time, becomes a living thing.
It holds memories, those walls. It embraces the imprints of all who have lived there.

At first, a noise is heard …but perhaps it is the breeze through the window.
At first, a creak on the stairs …but it may be the house settling.
Then there are the shadows in the peripheral …but that might be the imagination.
And the neighbour just happens to appear, silently …but possibly one was lost in thoughts.

As the mystery of the house unfolds, the killer resurfaces and draws closer.

Seeking a partner to write from the perspective of the young FBI agent (whereas I would wish to write the aspect of the girlfriend), and who is willing to be an equal contributor in the story telling/plotting. Themes to be explored: isolation, fear, psychological trauma, supernatural.
Note: I’m not a frequent poster due to current life issues, and so replies in the upcoming month of November will be slower than my norm.
If you are interested, please send a PM.
