Formatting Issue, tech expert anyone?

Hey there, I have a question.

So I'm not sure if anybody else has this issue, I doubt it since none of the partners I asked had any idea what I was talking about, but I have really odd formatting issues. Like, when I hit the enter bar, my post automatically adds another space column. Which, in itself wouldn't be an issue. What makes it odd is the fact, if I hit 'preview post' first and manually remove that extra column before sending my post, it suddenly gets clotted up with all kinds of random quote and font commands in brackets, looking like these .

Also, I can circumvent the double column issue by manually selecting my entire text and changing it to font size 10 before sending my post as well, which will then make my post look normal without any issues. So that works when posting normally, however, if I want to modify my post after sending it, or worse, add things like spoilers tags or images, my post formatting gets messed up all over again and images don't even appear at all.

Did I get this across properly? I'm sorry, I'm horrible at explaining technical stuff. Also, I tried switching browsers between firefox and chrome (using chrome primarily) but that didn't help, the formatting issue is still there. And it's not something I have on any other site. I got this issue almost as soon as I signed up. It's not fun-breaking because I can easily circumvent it, but it does make things like proper image sharing or making threads look pretty quite impossible unfortunately.

I mean it could, depending on your browser. I know Edge has some issues with it. Not much to be done until we're on Elkarte, where a lot of the bit rot has been cleaned up.
