Holly's personality is Determined Element: Fire The Phoenix Feather comes from the tail feathers of a Phoenix, and is especially good with fire or defensive magic, as well as healing magic. This may be due largely to the healing properties Phoenixes have.

Personality:

History: Talyn is the only child of Beatrice and Vincent Proudmane, after her parents divorce she went to live in Tinworth with her mother and though every day she missed her father terribly, she knew that he was always just an owl or the floo network away. Her life had been idyllic to that point, her parents had argued a lot but had still managed to keep as much as they possibly could away from her hearing.

The move to Tinworth was not traumatic, she had spent many summer holidays there but living in the old Selvridge family home [1] gave her a new freedom she had never had before. Her room was in the attic space which could also be reached via a wooden stepladder outside, it was a good mile from the beach but had plenty of scenic views and though there were muggle towns close by, Talyn stayed as close to the wizarding village as possible ... until she was older at any rate.

Head strong and volatile, she had to fight the urge often enough not to cast some spell on the muggle boys she did meet, all seemed determined to aggravate her. She knew the amount of trouble she would have been in however if she were to use magic outside of school and this was one of the main reasons she did try her best to stay clear of those not from her own world. She met Varius Tseric when she was nine years old, though she had seen him a little during her summer vacations. They became firm friends in Tinworth and shared the others excitement on getting their Hogwarts letters. The friendship became strained however when she was sorted to Gryffindor and he was sorted to Slytherin.

The school buzzed with the antics of Harry Potter and his friends and the fact that she was now part of Gryffindor seemed to mean she owed them her allegiance as well. She saw how every one either fawned over him or thought him far too big for his own boots, but Talyn kept her distance though at times it was possible to hate him when all she heard from her dorm room mate was how Harry was friends with her brother and how he was simply wonderful. Why the girl then chose to go out with just about every boy under the sun was beyond Talyn but she didn't question it.

Her own school life was fraught with trying to stay ahead, she lived like many of the students in their parents shadows and the fact that her mother had been prefect and head girl meant she had big shoes to fill. Talyn unlike her mother however, joined the quidditch team and stayed with them through out her school life. It irked her somewhat that Harry always seemed to take the limelight when it was after all a team effort.

Her holidays were spent more and more at home and she soon began turning down her fathers invitations to go stay at their home in King's Lynn. These holidays were spent more times than not in the company of her friend who she was discovering she had feelings for more and more.

After graduation, she went on to travel a small bit about Europe before returning to continue her studies. When Hogwarts reopened she was one of the first professors to enter its doors, though she did so has a trainee professor. Soon Slughorn however retired and she took over the position as potions professor and soon again, she was awarded the position of Head of House of Gryffindor. She was thrilled when Varius came to join the school as a member of the faculty, though she was also greatly apprehensive. He was in her eyes, the one that got away for no other reason than she let him. Too closed off from her own feelings, she lives for her job.

The only daughter of Vincent and Beatrice, Talyn gave up the idea a long time ago of her parents reuniting. Her own views on relationships and her lack of one, stems greatly from her parents failed marriage. She would have liked children of her own but failing that, being a professor is the closest she feels she will ever get to being any sort of mentor to children.

Fenton Selvridge was not at all happy with his youngest son marrying a half blood, he had nothing against the woman herself but it was known that there was a squib in her family and that Henrietta's only brother had married a muggle born. He saw the Smult family has nothing but a huge blemish on the wizarding world and threatened his son and his inheritance if he did not give up Henrietta and return home. He chose love of course.

Angered greatly it is rumoured that Fenton ordered his other son to 'take care' of the squib, in the hopes that this would bring Turloch to his senses. Whatever transpired is now all circumstantial, all that was found however was the body of Genevieve, as no evidence remained of how she was died it is believed the 'Avada Kadavra' curse was the last thing she heard.

Turloch believed his brother capable of this heinous crime and tried his best to keep Henrietta save, she was pregnant with their daughter at the time. The news of their wedding and baby eventually reached Fenton who apparantly blasted a hole in the wall of their gallery is his haste to remove Turloch from the family tree. He was never mentioned in the Selvridge home again.

Padraig was killed by the auror Douglas Hilt during a duel, Hilt maintained on record that he was given information indicating that Padraig Selvridge was a known felon and murderer and went to arrest the man, a duel ensued as Padraig had no intention of being taken quietly and was killed as a result. Douglas Hilt had also loved Genevieve Smult since he was seven years old.

As much as Regina and Oliver Smult loved their new son-in-law Fenton, they did believe that he had brought serious bad luck to their family. Henrietta and Fenton moved from Kilkenny, Ireland to Tinworth, England to raise their daughter. Believing that the move would do them both the world of good. Bryant moved to England as well with his wife Cathy, none foreseeing the troubles that were soon to brew and further agonies they would have to bear.
