The Hunger Game System

This game will implement a very simple d20 system, where each character will start off with 500 HP point's.

Combat

In battle the attacker, and defender will roll a d20. If the difference between the two is an odd number, the attack fails and no damage is inflicted. If the difference is even, then the attack was successful, and the person defending loses as many hit points. When a player's HP count reaches zero, the character dies.

For simplicity sake, there will only be one roll for damage per players post, despite how many times a character strikes out at another character. So if a player writes that their character went to kick another character in the back of a knee, and slashed at an opponents back, they won't roll twice for damage, but only once.

A character has the option to flee, in which case they'd roll a d10, and if they get 1-4, the attempt to flee fails, and if they get 6-10, the attempt is a success. If they get a 5, they must roll again.

An example of how this would be played, would be that player one engages in battle, cocks an arrow and let's it fly in the direction of player B. The attacker rolls, and produces a 7, the defender rolls, and produces a 5. So 7 - 5 = 2, which is an even number. The result, the defender lunges just in time, but get's grazed by the arrow, losing 2 points, so 500-2, leaves the defender with 498 HP points. This starts again, when the next attack comes, and will continue until a character dies, or tries to flee.

It will be each players responsibility to keep track of their points, a place will be given in the tagging system for them to do so. Each roll will be included at the bottom of their post's; please wrap it in a spoiler code. I want to emphasize that I, as GM, will not be supervising these rolls, so there will be a sort of honor system here. If I do see someone abusing this, I will step in and the consequences IC may be severe.

Sponsors and gifts

At the beginning of the game, and at the end of each IC night, each player will roll a d10, and send me the results via PM. The results will determine if a character has enough charisma to get a sponsored gift. Gift's can range from food/water, to medicine, or even a much needed weapon or tool. It will be my job to take your results and determine if and when your character receives anything. A player may force a gift to be sent to them only once a day, but to do so, they'd have to make another roll, which may come out better or worse than the one they made at the end of the prior IC day.
