Quick question about Open Office
« on: February 28, 2011, 03:51:19 pm »
This is mostly to save frustration - Mr. Oniya is using Open Office because it's free.  The problem is, whenever he saves a file to send to anyone else, he hits 'save' and saves it as .ODT - and then they can't open it.  Is there a way to get Open Office to default-save as .DOC, or does he just have to retrain himself?

I'm not entirely sure, but I think it will always default save as .ODT so unfortunately Mr Oniya will have to retrain himself. Sorry.

There is an option, if you dig into the setting to have OO save defaultly as .doc

I'm not at my computer, but I know it *is* there. I have it...

Thank you, jouzinka!  This has caused frustration in everything from email to online applications, so I really appreciate it.
