Early Morning Wanderings

Haunted visits,
Distant fields.
Cries for more
Cries for less.
Their screams reach my ears
But I am at a loss
What am I to do about thier tears.

I reach out to them, they fade away.
I cry for them, they laugh at me.
In my mind, is see them clear
But in my heart, they're nowhere near.

My bed lay empty, in cold winter mornings
Where lovers and dreamers should lay
Instead only cold, and nightmares stay.
Once more I'm reaching

Hoping for what can not be.
In my mind, I know it isn't
But in my heart, I know it could be.
The distance grows,
and the battle continues

For what I know,
For what I want,
For what I need.

Just kinda woke up this morning and wrote out something that ran into my mind. Not sure what to make of it to tell the truth...So I guess you could say "Open for interpretation."
