Buddies & Ignore List

Elliquiy allows members to set up “Buddies” and an “Ignore List.” Both are accessed through your Elliquiy profile:

Buddies

Buddies could be RP partners, chatting friends, or socializing friends that you want to give higher prominence in Elliquiy. When you designate an individual as a buddy their name will appear in bold on the main Elliquiy forum page. Designating buddies also helps organize your PM box. You can create rules based on Buddy status.

To create a buddy, simply enter a Member’s name in the Member: box and click add.

Your buddy table will note their Name, Status (online signified by a green box, Email, ICQ, AIM, YIM, and MSN. To delete a buddy, click on the red X in the far right column.

Ignore List

Similar to buddies, ignore lists can help you organize your PMs as well as provide other features such as hiding any posts from individuals you are ignoring or blocking PMs. There are additional steps to ignoring posts or blocking PMs which are detailed.

To add a Member to your ignore list, simply enter the Member’s name in the Member: box and click add.

Your ignore list will note their Name, Status (online signified by a green box, Email, ICQ, AIM, YIM, and MSN. To delete a buddy, click on the red X in the far right column.

Hiding Ignore List Posts

In Elliquiy, you are able to hide any posts written by Members on your ignore list. To do so, add Members to your ignore list and then click on “Look and Layout” on the left menu. Select the 9th check box “Hide messages posted by members on my ignore list.” Click “Change profile” to save the changes.

You are still able to view these posts on a case by case basis. Any post from this individual will be hidden. The post will show:



If you click on "Show me the post" it will reveal the post.

Blocking Ignore List PMs

You can also block PMs from Members on your Ignore List. In your forum profile, click on “Personal Messaging” on the left menu. In the second drop down menu, select “All members, except those on my ignore list.” Click “Change profile” to save the changes.

Always remember that if you've experienced unwanted harassment or have a grievance against another member, you should contact a staff member.
