The year I was born Hurricane Hugo hit the Carribean and the southeastern US.
The year I was born the Tim Burton version of Batman was released along with other notable films such as Field of Dreams, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, and Disney's The Little Mermaid.
The year I was born The Dixie Chicks and Texas bands were formed.

sometime I feel ancient and other times I still feel like a kid.

Today it's somewhere in the middle.

Ancient because I can remember some things from long long ago. A kid cause I still naive sometimes about how things really work.

I have a fairy tale in my head that doesn't really exist and yet it is the life I strive to make real. *Shakes head*

I'm so old cause I still remember when boy's would come to the door to take you on a date, now they just honk.

If a boy would have ever honked at my house for me my big brother would have beat his ass. *true*

*When boys would honk for my sister my Father used to storm out of the house and nearly drag them in*

I'm so old that when I grew up you always called your neighbor "Mr xxx." or "Mrs xxx."

I'm so old I was allowed to eat unwrapped candy at Halloween, nobody had heard of razor blades in there yet.

I remeber getting one of the very Texas Instruments calculators.  Basically a handheld 10 key.  Ran on a 9v battery, when most things did.

I am old enough that I remember;

-MTV actually played music videos
-the BOOM of reality Television, and The Real world being the only one anyone watched.
-Kids still played outside
- Cell phones weren't a common household technology
-Doritos had the white bag with the orange and yellow logo
- Fast Food joints closed at 10pm
- Mark Martin still raced for Valvoline and came in the top 3 in most races
- The Winston Cup
- The Carolinas gained an NFL team
- Vampires were actually taboo and people judged you for being a fanatic, or called you "Gothic"
- People got record deals because they had TALENT... not a pretty face
- Recording artists actually *wrote* some of their music
- VCR's and Cassette tapes
- Gameboy Color was the shit...
- Super NES was the shit...
- People actually went to the library for research, no jumping on the computer to research shit.
- Beavis and Butthead actually came out with new episodes, and you had to stay up late to watch it.
- VH1 had Behind the Music, Where are they now?, Pop up Video and Music videos.
- OJ Simpson "didn't" kill his wife, Nicole Brown.
- AOL 4.0
- DIAL UP
- You couldn't be online and use the phone at the same time.

Old enough to remember when camping consisted of tents and sleeping bags, or possibly if you were doing well, a tricked out camper that fit in the bed of your pick-up truck.  The one that slept 4 uncomfortably.

I was born the year the original Karate Kid was released in theaters.

I know what to do with a pencil and a cassette tape.

There was a time when VHS was your only option.

I remember when terrorism was extremely prevalent in my original country.

I remember topoyiyo, candy candy, saint seiya, thunder cats, tmnt, vg cats... etc etc

I remember hard floppy disks.

I remember when dial up was the only way to get the internet.

I remember when CD's were the size of vinyl records.

I remember when you actually had to pay for your internet (When you couldn't steal peoples internet through wifi)

Because I'm lazy as all heck, I'll just list a few things.

I'm old enough to.

~ Remember the Beetleborgs.
~ Owned a NES.
~ Complete the ENTIRE Final Fantasy series 100% (Minus XI and XIV, because they have no end), and this includes all secrets and glitches.
~ Own a Sega Dreamcast, that still works
~ Remember the last time Lance Armstrong Won Le Tour De France.

Anything else you need to know?

I'm old enough to:

*Have seen The Little Mermaid while it was still in theaters.
*Wait expectantly for new episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation, and have a crush on Wesley Crusher and Commander Riker
*Have watched the entirety of Stargate: SG-1 on television, if I'd had one available.
*Lament how SeaQuest: DSV was cut short.
*Remember watching Earth 2 when it was still brand new, and not being overly impressed.
*Remember the original Power Rangers.
*Have watched Gummy Bears on Disney channel, back when Gummy Bears was referring to old fashioned animation and a really interesting story about courage and doing the right thing. It brings up something different these days that I haven't even bothered with.
*Remember when TV shows had morals, and almost all kiddy cartoons were about teaching you to be a good person and a good friend, disguised as entertainment.
*Remember when Barbie and My Little Ponies were originally all the rage, or at least be on the second wave...
*Remember that a show called Fraggle Rock existed and that it bothered me so much that I've blocked the show itself from my memory to this day.
*Have been scared shitless when I first heard that we were going to war over in the middle east as a teenager because while I'd never lived through one (not quite that old) I'd read enough stories that didn't glorify it to realize that that meant people would die for no damned good reason.

I think that's a pretty good list. ;D

The release of the FIRST Alexx Kidd Game.
Megaman 2
DooM
DooM 2
PSX
NES,SNES,N64
Combining Sonic and Knuckles with Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 (It's surprising how many people didn't know that you could do this >_>)
Flickies Island (Sonic 3D, Sega Genesis)
Owning a Sega Game Gear (Old style PSP, literally)
The Birth of Mario Party.
The First Tomb Raider game
Metal Gear, (Metal Gear Solid... But before you could do all the first-person junk.)
Metal Slug
Street Fighter... At the Arcade.
Tekken (See above for more details)
Digimon (Before it was cool)
Butt Ugly Martians (Not a game, but it was still awesome.)
When 'Emo' Fringes were coming into fashion (In the U.K at least.)
