Transformers: Return to Earth [Interest Thread]
« on: September 29, 2010, 02:43:26 PM »

“Before time began, there was ... the Cube. We know not where it comes from, only that it holds the power to create worlds, and fill them ... with life. That is how our race was born. For a time we lived in harmony, but like all great power, some wanted it for good ... others for evil. And so began the war. A war that ravaged our planet until it was consumed by death. And the cube was lost to the far reaches of space. We scattered across the galaxy, hoping to find it and rebuild our home; searching every star, every world. And just when all hope seemed lost, message of a new discovery drew us to an unknown planet called ... Earth. But we were already too late.” – Optimus Prime

For millions of years, Cybertron has been home to sentient robotic life. These Cybertronians are commonly known as ‘Transformers’. These Transformers are divided into two factions, the peaceful Autobots and the power hungry Decepticons. At one time, Cybertron knew peace, but that was a very long time ago… The Allspark, also known as the Cube, is the most powerful artifact on Cybertron and generally agreed in the rest of the universe as well. The Allspark has the ability to create life, housing unimaginable power within itself. The Autobots wished only to protect it along with their planet, resorting to violence only when absolutely necessary. The Decepticons sought to use it’s power to seize control of the rest of the universe.

War raged on and off on their home planet, the Allspark lost and recaptured on several occasions.  A final battle was waged and the Allspark was secretly cast away so the Decepticons could never find it. The disappearance of the Allspark did not remain secret for long, however, it’s final destination was never found. The war against the Decepticons was eventually won, Cybertron once again seeing a time of peace while the Decepticons scattered across the galaxy.

Decades became centuries, but even for a long lived race like the Cybertronians, nothing lasts forever. Energon, their main source of fuel, was starting to become scarce. The planet was producing too little and producing energon by other means was very costly. This drove the Autobots to search out the Allspark once more, a search the Decepticons had one very big lead on. The vaguest of clues lead both factions slowly closer to their goal till one solar cycle, the race was suddenly on. The location had finally been discovered; a far off planet in an underdeveloped part of the universe, a nearly forgotten planet inhabited by organic life by the name of ‘Earth’.

This game takes place in it’s own universe, essentially taking the place of Transformers: Animated when it comes to time frame. This means that G1, G2, and the happenings of the Beast Wars in Earth’s past have all happened, but before the time the Maximals and Predicons that are in Beast Wars comes about as it’s supposed to be an extremely distant future. Though these events have occurred, they are not likely to come into play too often as they are in the past and this is a whole new generation of Transformers. Transformers: Animated and the movies are not cannon with is universe and so haven’t happened. Many of the classic Autobots and Decepticons have been reborn as well, so they will still be there, but as new incarnations rather than older ones.

The Earth is a little more futuristic than present day, robotics commonly used as well as things like flying cars and a settled colony on the moon. Artificial intelligence is still something humans haven’t delved too deeply into in fear of what might come about. Realistically speaking, as the Transformers have come to Earth in the past, humans do know of their existence, though the large lapse in time has caused the short lived humans to assume they will never return. None the less, the past brush with the Decepticons has resulted in trepidation to develop intelligent machines…

The story itself will be starting the the Autobots and Decepticons racing towards Earth in hopes of snatching up the Allspark first. I will be creating many threads to accommodate the various locations as well as provide further information regarding the workings of the universe, types of Cybertronians and how their lives function and other such information. Cannon characters will be NPCs at the start but can be applied for though gaining control of one will be fairly difficult to make sure the characters are portrayed more accurately. This is not to say they will be carbon copies of their previous incarnations, but they should have some similarities. Original characters are encouraged.

NOTE: This is intended to be an adult rp, though please do not sacrifice plot. I will be setting this up in the Play-By-Post: Non-Consensual Exotic Freeform Small Groups forum as Decepticons can get a little vicious… I would like people to ask permission of each other before hand however so we don’t step on any toes please…

Please post your interest as well as any suggestions about things you might like to see in the rp! As soon as there is enough interest I will be setting up an OOC thread where character applications can be submitted as well as OOC banter. An Information thread will be set up as well to hold all the important informations and links to outside sources as well as approved character sheets. The rest of the IC game threads will also be created soon after this.

Interest so far: 8 people Enough people to start the game! <3

EDIT: As some of the RP can take place on Earth and a human colony on the moon, humans are indeed character options.

Wow sounds a little complicated, but maybe that'll help keep it going strong.  I would definitely be interested, and of course would have an original character.  Hoo boy, now to choose between adapting my usual OC, or coming up with a brand new one.

It's not actually as complicated as it sounds. Different threads for different places so it doesn't get all crowded in one thread. This also give you the option, for example, of remaining on Cybertron, while other players go to Earth. I've also opened up the option of the moon with the moon base.

Everything will be explained in detail and if someone doesn't understand something, I would be more than happy to explain anything. Glad to see we have at least a five of us though. My fiancee is going to be joining us and helping me play the NPCs while another friend of ours is going to be bringing in one of his characters as well.

ahh so if for some reason a character gets sent to, or decides to change location for what ever reason then they would switch threads?

Exactly. This will keep the thread from getting too crowded and people don't have to specify where they are as much. Less confusion that way.

For example! Rather than:

Earth, Autobot Base, Sunstreaker's room

Sunstreaker sighed in utter bordom, sitting up on his berth. He wondered where his twin had gotten off too... With that thought he got down onto his pedes, and started to make his way towards the door. "Yo, Sideswipe? Where you at?" He called through his comm directly to his red painted twin.

Instead it would look more like this:

Autobot Base, Rec-room

Sideswipe's system's chirped to attention, smiling at his brother's transmission. "Rec-room, bro. Had enough time to yourself?" He chuckled softly to himself, knowing very well that Sunny wasn't one to sit idly for very long.

I may or may now even make Threads for individual rooms within those locations. Only the more important ones though... Still, you got the idea?

Oh! I almost forgot! Very important... As part of this game can indeed take place on Earth/the Moon colony, thus does open the option of human characters guys!

Maybe they're like Batman and can just breath in space.

I'm interested as well. :)

Do I understand correctly that players will be creating their own original Autobots and Decepticons?

You may create Transformers or humans and the cannon characters can be applied for, though I would prefer if people started out with an original character to keep the game new and interesting. Cannon characters will also be more harshly judged than OCs so they're obviously harder to get approved.

Intimate relations was indeed something that I was trying to think on... From what I have gathered, there are three accepted methods. One involves hidden equipment and ports that makes the act more 'organic' like. The second involves unplugging wires to plug them into the other participant instead, these wires originating from just about any point on the transformer though the chest/cockpit, head and crotch seem to be the most common locations. The last I've seen accepted in conjunction with either of the above or standing alone which involves exposing and opening the spark chamber to allow their sparks to brush and interact directly, this being the most intimate of the three and only ever done between bots that really trust each other. Even then this method is usually kept to incredibly light brushes. Delving deeper into each other only is ever done between bots that are truly in love as a connection is made between the two sparks allowing them to sense each other no matter the distance between them, share emotions as well as convey very basic messages through emotional hints. All of these are acceptable, but you may want to ask your potential partner if they have a preference.

And yes... Long live Rule #34... You would not believe how much Transformers porn I have tucked away in my computer.

let's say ports that replicate organic feelings, this is recreational as well as establishing a cybernetic pathway...
however unleashing one's spark, caressing and melding is the only way to create a new spark, and this can be done in a number of ways, the safest being the analog system using the ports, the most open and dangerious being to fully press chambers, but this 100% assures the creation of new cybernetic life.

XD Whoo. You seem to know your thing. But yes that's how little protoforms are Sparked as well.

Ah! Well,  Ironwolf, You are correct that the spark to spark option is how protoforms are sparked. However, Cybertronians seem to be able to fully control whether or not they procreate. It's also now a 'poof' baby appears kinda thing. They need to acquire a blank protoform to put the spark into first. It there is no protoform to be Sparked, the newly formed spark will simply sputter out with nothing to contain it, a very tragic thing.

Welcome Moony my love! Just keep in mind you're helping me with the NPCs. Don't overwhelm yourself!

Glad for your interest Major! I am an artist myself, though I have yet to try drawing a transformer. If you like I can give it a whack, but I would at least need a reference point. Also, unless you're willing to pay come money, you won't be getting something mind blowing, but my perfectionist nature won't allow it to be crappy either. So what did you have in mind?

Fantastic! I think we have enough people to get things started!

Thanks for the interest Geradine. You are welcome to play a defected Decepticon and I don't seem to need to warn you of the distrust you're going to be slammed with at the beginning. I look forward to seeing your character in fact as it stirs things up and makes things interesting!

Celebrate everyone! I am setting to work making the OOC thread right now! It will be linked back here the moment it is finished and I will also be sending out PMs just in case. Start thinking of characters everyone! =D

Well, I'm going with probably an Autobot, who uses a Supermarine Spitfire as an alt. form; either a Mark IA or a Mark II (Battle of Britain era). How would payment be made, and what means would you prefer to recieve it?
